Came in with minimal expectations… Mix of Thai, Chinese, Cambodian, and Korean food in an uninspired location. But it’s really good!

Favorite take-out in town. The food is consistently great, and I’ve been eating here for years.

Happy Wok is a superb little restaurant. If you like Thai-style dishes, this is the place to go. It’s a smaller place with great modern décor– the staff are incredibly friendly. Not too far from the interstate either, so if you’re going through south Plover, stop by! The only thing I’d list as complaints would be some of their more unusual hours(Thursdays were strange for awhile, though they may have changed since then.)

Great fried rice, sweet & sour chicken and crab rangoon. That’s all I’ve ever gotten from them and I love it! They do seem to have odd hours. I’ve called during normal business hours and all I’ve gotten was, «We’re not open». Um, Ok?

I don’t understand the positive reviews of this restaurant. The server appeared unhappy with her job from the time we walked in until we left. After ordering, she forgot to give us chop sticks after two requests, tried to tell us kimchi is multi-national not Korean(seriously?!), and forgot to bring us our drinks until after we had our entrees. I literally was sticking to the table! It was so sticky, I had to sit back rather than rest my wrist on the table. It looked clean but there was apparently so much old dirt, they can no longer get it clean. My daughter ordered Crab Rangoon, one of her favorite things. The filling was gloppy and flavorless. Even after adding sauce, it was simply a fried wonton with sauce. The kimchi was also flavorless, which is virtually impossible for kimchi! Even when freshly made without much time to marinate, kimchi should be spicy. My teriyaki beef didn’t look like beef. By the time it arrived, I was so hungry, I forced myself to taste it. It looked like reconstituted beef jerky. The flavor wasn’t bad, but the visual was so odd, I couldn’t finish and took it home to my husband. He doctored it with some Sirracha sauce and said it was palatable. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone I know. If in the area again, I would recommend On-The-Go Gyro or the the Asian restaurant across the street in the shopping center with Sears(don’t recall the name). Stay away from Samouen’s, there is nothing happy about the food, service, or server!

This place rocks. Small, great service, amazing food. Family owned and run. Go twice and your considered family.

Family owned restaurant with very friendly service. Little pricey but rather than spending less and eating stale food in other asian restaurants in town spend it here on some good food. I had Pad Thai and it was awesome. They close at 8 pm on weekday which is little early(once its 815 they will rush everything indirectly indicating you to eat fast.)

Service is bad especially on weekends! Seems they don’t want to do business. The only think I like about this place is food!

This is a family owned restaurant. They have tailored their operation hours to that is convenient for them and not the customers. They close in the middle of the day for some hours so make sure to check their schedule before you go. Their Pad Thai is flavorful — sweet, sour, a tad spicy — but other than that, I’m unimpressed with everything else. The prices are really steep. When I order $ 10 Phở, the broth better be spot on and portions must be huge but sadly no. The Cook had to come out to ask if I knew what tripe is and do I really want that in my phở. Look at me, I am AZN, I eat weird stuff. The phở broth was bland. The curry mixture for the curry noodles soup was too thick. A couple of weeks after I had the first bowl I thought it was a mistake so I had another bowl. Nope, it’s not a mistake. They purposefully made it that way. I’m used to a lighter curry soup concoction over vermicelli noodles and a sprinkle of herbs. I will eat here again because the flavors aren’t bad. Service is a little slow but they are friendly. If you sit closer to the bathroom and kitchen, you can hear the unpleasant sounds coming from the kitcken so ask to sit further away.

We stopped here for lunch while passing through the area. The small restaurant’s décor was not much to write home about. The lunch specials menu was available on this Saturday. The crab Rangoon was sweet and I could taste the green onion, and they had very good chicken teriyaki, which I normally don’t care for. After trying a bite of Mr. R’s, I wished that I had ordered the chicken. The pork lo mein I ordered was savory and not sweet like some I’ve had. The lady who served us was cordial. I did notice that she was spraying down the tables with Zep glass cleaner and wiping them, which seemed a bit odd to me as they are not glass and the cleaner was quite fragrant. There was a toddler coloring in the dining room and he did go into the kitchen, but he was well-behaved during our lunch.

Samoeun’s Happy Wok is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in central Wisconsin. Every time I think about Samoeun’s the first 3 things that come to my mind are delicious, flavorful and satisfying. I have tried multiple items on their menu and every dish is wonderful! My all time favorite is the Crispy Beef.

First try if their Pad Thai — thought it was flavorable and the noodles weren’t overdone – their take on KimChee seemed almost bland but it is out of the comfort zone for them it seems. Ordering it Med Heat seemed to concern them but it was just medium(no sweating) – nice level of spiceyness SWMBO ordered Moo Gai Pan — it tasted fine and neither the veggies or chicken were overcooked! The crab rangoon was the same as every other place but the dipping sauce was good Service was amateurish at best with interruptions at all the wrong time but will stop there again when in the area Wish there were more pure Thai or Cambodian dishes on the menu!!!

Pros: For the price, portion are small. Good food and friendly staff. Cons: bathroom is too close to dining room. Someone takes a #2 and everyone smells it.

Samouen’s Happy Wok serves ‘Thai-style’ Asian food. Generally speaking, this means that foods are a little spicer and less ‘Americanized’ than Asian food from other restaurants. If you don’t like food spicy, make sure you specify ‘No Peppers’ for any dish that you order. If you like your food with a kick of heat and a burst of flavor, I recommend the Chicken, Pork, or Beef(or a combo of these) in Garlic Sauce. Medium heat is hotter here than at other restaurants. «James» hot is a step above medium. It’s named after Samouen’s husband and its my favorite level of heat. I recommend the Pad Thai and Sesame Chicken dishes here too(Medium or ‘James’). All meals come with Crab Rangoon or Kim Chi. I like both, but favor the later. Sweet and Sour Sauce is Yellow here — not translucent red. It’s got good flavor, tho, so there’s no need to let that stop you. Happy Wok isn’t much to look at. It has a casual dining atmosphere. When we first found this place, we confused it with a poor-quality chinese food chain called ‘happy wok’ out of the Madison area. Thankfully, it’s nothing like its poor-quality namesake. Home delivery is possible.

My favorite pan Asian food in the area. They have traditional Chinese and Thai dishes with a Cambodian influence. This place really turns up the heat! The third hottest was so hot my scalp was sweating. If you are like me you enjoy spicy food and usually it never gets hot enough, Happy Wok will deliver. Also, the vegetables are very fresh. If you are on a date-bring along a bottle of wine and they will cork it for you at no charge… at least they did for us.

Catchy name, friendly staff and food wasn’t disappointing but lets call this a Thai restaurant with Cambodian influences. Nothing on the menu is authentic Cambodian. High ceiling and clean décor.

I was up in Plover for work and ended up meeting a friend for lunch. He suggested this place and turned out to be an awesome choice. I had the Chicken Curry Soup with Rice and a side of Kim Chi with sesame oil. The food is great and the restaurant is nice and clean. It looked to me like they have tons of people for pick up and delivery orders. The only draw back is that the sign on the building wasn’t so big so I almost missed the place. If you’re in the area and want good Asian food(their menu had Cambodian, Chinese, Thai and Korean influences), definitely check this place out.
