I got a nice pair of shoes today but it took an hour of waiting for an associate to find my size, find a second pair that was not damaged, and finally check out. The shoe section was mobbed and there were too few associates working. When i got to the car i realized i was charged too much for the shoes and had o go back for an adjustment. Crazy.

I have shopped at this Boscovs in Plymouth Meeting for many years. I like this store. They have a nice assortment of items for the home and people. However, there are few employees to assist a customer. I shopped in the men’s department and found what I was looking for. Finding a sales associate to ring up the purchase was a challenge. I did happen upon two associates engaged in a personal conversation. They saw me and they did NOTSTOPTHEIRCONVERSATION until I started to walk away. Then and only then did one asked if I was ready to check out. He still continued his conversation with the other employee while walking over to the register. This store needs a serious customer service seminar for their employees.

I don’t usually shop here, but the last couple visits have reminded me why. 1) Unfriendly staff who make you feel like you are inconveniencing them for asking a question 2) My mother and I(not to mention 2 – 3 other people) all got locked in the store this past week. In the average store, someone stands by the door to let you out. Not so at Boscov’s! The associate we encountered told us to go out the employee exit! In short, I’m not missing out on anything by not shopping here!

i recently painted my entire first floor which meant i had to purchase all new drapes as well and the great curtain hunt of 2012 was underway. i have been to three boscovs at least 10 times in three months. i go to the deptford n.j. mall store, the mechanicsburg pa store and the plymouth meeting one in philly. i have returned and purchased so many curtains i’m not sure what i am doing anymore! problem is i need 72 inch lengths which is not a popular size and almost impossible to find in large sets. now, all the clerks at these stores were pleasant and nice but none offered to help me the way that Donald did yesterday at the plymouth meeting store. when he heard what my issue was, he immediately offered to call the home store and find out of they had my 72 inch curtains. guess what? bc of his help, my curtains are all now being shipped! not one other salesperson informed me that i could order their products online. in fact, i thought all boscovs curtains were closeouts and one of a kind. in this day and age, great customer service is super hard to find and i want Donald to get the recognition he deserves. he was super professional, friendly, and never made me feel as if i was a anything but a valued customer! cudos to him and i hope the powers that be read this and give him a raise.
