Orvis has strong quality and sophisticated if casual style in their clothing lines. Carries Barbour at even price to Barbour itself. Plymouth Meeting staff is knowledgeable, discrete, very helpful but not overly assertive. Tom and Melissa are top notch! Fly fishers of any level sophistication will find the gear, guidance and good camaraderie around the sport that make you feel at home. No one beats Orvis for customer service and warranty. Some great deals.
All this makes an actually enjoyable retail experience. Pretty rare. Seems a handful of customers have become friends and regulars. I first went in to get clothes for Dad then later for a fly rod for my teen. When 2 rod tips broke under the weight of two 5lb rainbow trout in 2 consecutive months, they replaced each on the spot and counseled me away from kids rods since it didn’t sound like kid fishing. By now I’ve sampled and bought over a dozen different gear, gift and clothing items. All satisfying. This company does things so right that our group of friends are eyeing an Orvis lodge for a western trip. Glad to meet fly fishing, Orvis and it’s team!

Walked in the day before Christmas because I wanted to just look at, and get a feel for a saltwater fly fishing rod and reel. Well, walked out with a beautiful outfit, that I’m really glad I went to store and bought it. The sales man «Cody» was really helpful, friendly, and knowledgable. He didn’t push me to buy, he just made it so pleasant an experience… I had to buy it. He set up the entire outfit for me, backer, line packed on reel, and let me try it to make sure it was the size I wanted. A great salesman. I will go back to that store again.
