Heard such great things about this place, but the burger I just struggled to eat was cold and no better quality than mcdonalds… The friends I am with are telling me that this is a poor representation of Uncle Franky’s, but I don’t think I’ll be able to bring myself to come again… Cashier said«man I was hoping I didn’t have to make a malt today» after my friend ordered one and then proceeded to take 10 minutes to finish making one Nutella malt. He also didn’t use gloves and used his mouth to bite off the top of the Nutella jar… Health code violations everywhere. Gross.

My wife and I had heard that yesterday evening at After Five at Uncle Franky’s would be a jazz venue. We had heard the singer before and liked her voice, song choices and general comfortable stage presence. What we got was a wonderful evening of both music by a fine local jazz singer and an absolutely fabulous jazz pianist, composer and lyricist. On top of this, the restaurant menu was excellent with presentations worthy of dining magazines covers. The quality of the food rivaled some of the finest restaurants, but, at modest prices. All over the restaurant people were taking pictures of the plates which were coming out of the kitchen because of the presentations. The food tasted as good as the appearance of the plates. We felt that we were transported to maybe, NYC or Europe, certainly not Plymouth, Mn. in an establishment which is a hot dog restaurant during the daylight hours. We are looking forward to another evening of music, wine and small plate dining.

My husband and I just got done having dinner here and to say the least we were not impressed. The service was slow the food was decent tasting I would say slightly above average however the price was a bit high for what you get. I paid $ 13 for a plate of marlin that was tiny and my husband got the wings for $ 11 and it was 4 wings. We got a kids meal of chicken nuggets and totts for $ 5. $ 30 later and we are still hungry and a bit bummed.

A fun place to listen to live music and eat some excellent food! It is a unique concept to have a hotdog restaurant by day and hip eatery by night but they are pulling it off and then some. The prime beef was top notch, and the side salad was wonderfully flavorful. Great evening. Excited to come back with friends and have them thank me for this unique and fun find.

Hi all, I just thought as I read your reviews quite often that I could contribute something this time. my husband frequents a place called uncle frankies at lunch a few times a week in Plymouth. Last week he told me he had a surprise for me for dinner fri night. Happy to go anywhere he brought me yes to uncle frankies(maybe its frankys with a y) whatever I was ok to go in but it was dark from the outside almost as if closed. He opened the door for me and omg it was not what I expected. Black tablecloths and candles with a beautiful city mural on the wall and velour curtains that made a lush stage presence with an amazing piano player. We sat down and felt at home, the menu said after 5, so this must be the name? Almost the perfect menu, I really don’t know what they were missing besides a salad. We ordered a bottle of wine and had a well done charcuterie plate with a cheese fondue that came with so many different options. There were many other small plates but we were full after the fondue. The chef asked us how we were doing and we found out more about him, boy are they lucky to have him. I think it was Travis something, he was from the east coast from some fancy seafood place and has cooked at the white house more than once. My husband asked why he was there and he said that he liked the owner and his concept, and his wife had been transferred here, he was sick of the long hours and big kitchens. He then comped us a chocolate fondue he told us was made especially for them by BT McEllrath. Again with fun accoutrements omg. What a new far out idea and place we have found, the waitress said they don’t answer the phone because people want a hot dog order and there is really no website. Travis said they have been contemplating a website and will soon make one but wanted to fine tune the whole concept as it is a hot dog stand during the day. Thanks to my husband I have a new favorite place, I hope they survive what a cool idea, hats off uncle frankies(y)s? Thanks for the great experience. Truly yours, Maria
