A very nice community with everything you’d need within walking distance(well, not everything but lots of business and the necessities}… gas station, post office, groceries. I really liked the grocery store as they had a prepared food section that served very tasty food. Unfortunately very loud and rude tenants were the demise of our great experience there. When we left we were charged an outrageous electric bill for heating. I’m not sure how they calculated the cost but it was very expensive. The rent is not anything to laugh at either, but a nice community none the less.

Apartment Adventures — #1 — Avalon Communities Plymouth Massachusetts I haven’t rented living space since my oldest child was an infant. She is nearly fourteen years old now. This process of «looking for a rental» may very well be the most stressful life situation, ever. When I went online and searched«apartments» in my area, it was clear initially that there aren’t any. I found one community — the closest physically to my current location. I had to look, even if I died inside when I saw the pricing. I must be honest and tell you that I had no idea what rent looked like in 2011 in Massachusetts. We have been paying a mortgage since 1998, in five different houses, at varying costs from wicked-good to OMG-we-can’t-buy-toilet-paper. The costs of this particular community made me curl up into a little ball inside and think that I will never, ever get to move. The rent starts at «We’re eating Ramen,» and ends at, «We will have to buy shampoo next month.» I had to see it though, because of the physical proximity to my kid’s address, schools, and highway. The Avalon in Plymouth was created within the boundaries of a super-nice high end residential housing community. There are million dollar homes in the woods here, we’re talking Very Fancy. Also, remember that HGTV Green Home? Yes. That’s here too. You get what you pay for. The grounds and the units are amazing and gorgeous and wonderful and awesome and soclosetohomeIcantasteit. Everything untouched. I’ve never had or owned anything new, so it’s like a damn theme park to this girl who wanted to be a Real Estate Agent. «Look AT this! A BRANDNEWBATHROOM, TWO?! OMG.» (The home buying process has burned me so badly — I don’t know if I ever want to own a house on my own. Ever. You would not believe the amount of money put in – and wasted — in the five money pits we’ve lived in. /end topic.) Therefore, entering a brand new apartment unit, close to home, where I could easily go and have my kids have very little change — INSTANTLOVE. Add to that, they have their own Fire Department, Grocery Store, Bank, Coffee shop, etc, all within like point-two miles. I don’t drive. I’m an epileptic. I can GETTOTHESTORE and BANK. Alone. Without a cab. I haven’t done that in THREEYEARS. I applied immediately. I gave a deposit and waited cautiously for the reply. I was denied based on my lack of credit history. My soon-to-be-EX signed on the application to back me up – as he is staying very involved with me/kids — we were both denied based on his credit as well. I wasn’t surprised, but let down because this location was #1. It stinks, but what’s worse is that other apartment or house rental locations in town are just as expensive for LESS amenities, and some smell really bad. Really. Bad. That, and my kids can score meth in the parking lot of a few of other units! *thumbs up* «Will Blog For Credit Rating.»
