This is just a charming little winery in a 60’s style home converted into a Tasting Room. There are no toppers on the bottles with 1 oz. pre-measured samples so your pours are rather generous — good thing they leave you pretzels to keep you standing. The wines have been aged longer than the average Amador County wines and perhaps that is why everything tastes so much more mature and smooth. They grow and harvest their OWN Barbera and the bottle on the shelf is from 2010! Incredibly smooth Barbera and quite frankly, the Primitivo was wonderful as well — and I usually am not a fan of Primitivos. Each bottle is very reasonable, around $ 27-$ 30 and the small staff is very knowledgeable, attentive and friendly — I could have listened to them all day.

Friendly staff. Great wines. Good events with the wine maker monthly. Join their wine club and save on great wines and get information on events sales etc.

This place OVERCHARGES for their bottled wine. After buying a bottle which I was sold on the«Exclusiveness» We stopped in at Pokerville Market to grab a sandwich and found a majority of their«Exclusive» wines were $ 10 — $ 15 cheaper than the member price at this place. Isn’t it supposed to be cheaper to buy the wine at the winery? That’s why people go wine tasting!!! These people are doing it all wrong. There is absolutely NO reason to be a member here if other RETAIL places sell the wine cheaper. Another thing that really grinds my gears about this place is that BEFore you taste any wine, they charge you $ 5 — $ 10, then rush you through the tasting experience just to try to sell you an over priced wholesale bottle of wine. It’s the same Bad Business practice that most of these wineries practice and that is why they are not successful like Napa Valley, Sonoma, or even Lodi.

We would have given this a 5 star but the female owner was quite rude to us while we were outside on the grounds in the picnic area. Mr. Di Arie was however very personable and exceptionally pleasant.

The wine here is tasty and it better be! I remember reading something in the winery that said the owner helped to develop some very famous food… like Cap’n Crunch and Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing. The grounds are beautiful and perfect for a picnic. The tasting room is inviting, but large enough to fit all the people who seem to like this winery.

When in the Plymouth valley, you will come in contact with great wineries of the sierra foothills. This winery is the place to be for great wines. If you get the opportunity; you must visit the winery in Mt.Akum.It’s a world class wine experience. Be sure to see them at the Barbera festival in June 2012. This event really gives you a great Barbera wine experience. Haven’t had it? You’ll love it.

Every once in a great while, you come across a business that you fall in love with. CG Di Arie is one of those businesses. The owners of this winery, Chaim and Elisheva are people of character who are genuinely passionate about making wine. Equal to their love of wine is their love of people. They are so incredibly warm and friendly. Now, on to my review of the wines. We were with a group of 8 people who went to the winery itself and tasted many different wines. Every wine we tasted was good, but they make some great wines, like their Interlude blend and their Primitivo. All of their wines are lush, slighly fruit forward with very little astringent and tannin flavors in the mouth. They are drinkable on their own and with food. If you are going up to Amador to go wine tasting, you should not miss a stop at their tasting room.

The staff at this winery make it worth the visit. They are some of the most personable people in the area. Unpretentious, they don’t care if you are a beginner or if you are a connoisseur they treat everyone well. Their port is one of the best ports I have tasted. They always have great little treats. Their bean salad from the Labor Day Progressive Picnic the last two years has been utterly amazing. Looking forward to checking out their Wine tastings with the wine maker as well as their other events.

Fantastic wines and a friendly tasting room. Their wine club offers some exclusive wines not available for general purchase. Favorites include the Verdelho and«Interlude.» There is a nice picnic area off the deck in a little park-like setting.

I only had a chance trying a few wineries while driving through the Amador area. C.G. Di Arie was one of a few we stopped by to try their wines. The 2008 Primitivo Block 4 was very nice. The glass opened up to the nose so nicely. Soft an suble to the palate. 2006 Zinfandel was a nice Zin and would be great with BBQ wine. 2005 Syrah lot of the fruit to the nose, layers of flavor to the taste. The tanis are nice, sufficent for red meats yet plesantly soft and sublte to the taste. The Interlude was a wonderful all around red blend of Zin, Syrah, Primitivo and Petittie Syrah. It was so nice to introduced to these wines by the owner. Worth the visit if you are in the area.

Visiting this winery is an experience one never forgets. This winery is run by a husband and wife team who make you feel welcome, respected, and appreciated. Their wines are outstanding. I am not a Syrah lover, but their Syrah was excellent, as was their Primitivo, Cabernet, and the Due Amici. In short, this is a lovely place, with lovely people. What a great treat!

What nice staff! We decided to camp out here by the waterfall in the shade to have our picnic lunch and enjoyed a bottle of their Syrah. What a nice afternoon!

This is going to be a bias review since I am a wine club member. This is simply a must try if you are in the area. My wife and I love wine. This is our favorite local winery which we drink on a regular basis. All the wines are very consistent. Our favorites are from the Gallery collection: Proprietor’s Blend, Due Amici, Padre e Figlio and of course my personal favorite Due Mondi. Unfortunately these wines are not available for samples at the tasting room due to the limited production. I can honestly state they easily stand up against other Napa Valley wines double or triple their price. Chaim and Elisheva are two the nicest people I have met in the wine business. They openly talk about their wine and related processes or discuss art and food. Don’t miss this gem of the foothill and one of the outstanding wineries in the region.

Terrific find! Our friend’s brother who lives in Fiddletown recommended this winery. it wasn’t original list of stops this past weekend, but after he talked it up, we decided to include it and were glad we did. The two ladies who were doing the pouring were full of information and extremely helpful. We tasted two whites, a rose, at least 4 reds, and the ruby port(they are currently sold out of their tawny port.) We took home their Summer Special, which included a bottle of the Roussanne, Rose di Arie, and the Savignon Blanc for only $ 39 to fill out our weekend purchases. The grounds around the tasting room are beautifully landscaped. There is a huge Koi fish in the fish pond near the waterfall just below the tasting room. We would highly recommend a stop including C.G. Di Arie Winery Tasting Room when you travel to Amador County!!!

OK. I didn’t like anything enough to buy anything, but it was an interesting place. I thought the wine was a bit overpriced… but OK. Just me.

I am absolutely swooning over how adorable Chaim and Elisheva, the owners of CG Di Arie are. While winetasting in Amador last weekend we met Elisheva at the deli in Plymouth. Talking to her about her wine, her life(she was a professional ballerina before becoming a winemaker), and her husband, it’s clear that she is someone who brings great passion to everything she does. You’ll have to meet her yourself to see what I mean. She’s just charming as all get out. She encouraged us to head up the hill to their tasting room, where we were able to picnic and then try more of their wine. Their grounds are beautiful and they have a nice picnic spot by a small koi pond. The tasting room is a nice size and tastefully decorated. The woman who helped us in the tasting room was wonderful – helpful, funny, the works. And the wines were great as well – some of my favorite in the Amador area. Their whites were flavorful without being overly sweet and they have a variety of reds. My favorite was the Primitivo, followed by the Zins. They also make a nice ruby and tawny port. But all of their wine had a nice complexity of flavors and I wholeheartedly recommend them if you are in the Amador area. I’m also looking forward to taking a workshop at their education center and winery, which is open only for these special events(around once a month).

This place is beautiful! They have a really nice outside area surrounded by plants, rocks and a pond to sit and picnic. After glancing at the outside of this place, I couldn’t wait to get inside! Upon walking in, I glanced around and was surprised to see nobody in there. I was even more surprised that we waited a while before being greeted. Oh wait, we never were greeted. Eventually, we noticed a gal just standing there looking at us. Nothing like the reception we received at other wineries. We hesitantly asked to taste one of their wines. No description given, no «would you like to try___». It was really uncomfortable! My boyfriend tasted two whites and I did try their Zinfandel before my boyfriend decided he liked the chilled Sauvignon Blanc enough to buy it. Or, maybe he just felt weird and needed to do something. I think she did mention that was a good one for summer *wow, thanks*. Their Sauvignon Blanc was nice and floral. Even though I liked the Zin, I didn’t feel compelled to buy it. While this place is nice on the outside… it didn’t leave a great lasting impression.
