The wine here has been good. Some of the wine i have drank there lately has had a less distinctive taste. That being said, the Rattlesnake Old Vine is great and so is the Pinot Grigio and some of other wines. Some years are great some aren’t, it happens. Beautiful location, check it out and you’ll see that’s enough said. Good food. Best membership as it includes an all u can eat pasta buffet for Friday’s and Sundays. One membership and four people eat for free. It’s great place to start your day, end your day or go mid day or just for lunch.

Fantastic grounds and buffett. Beautiful tasting room with great deals on purses, wall hangings, candles, etc. If you join the Wine Club you get 10% off and free buffet. Great deal! Wine was great. Got 4 bottles with membership. Will definetly be back.

Lovely setting. They actually have food!!! Sounds totally ridiculous to get excited about food while wine tasting but other wineries should take note that if you have bread, snacks and food available you are more likely to hang around and stay awhile. The bread was warm, toasty and very satisfying. The peanut butter dessert not really worth mentioning. Now about the actual wines… Yes I liked them all and will go back. The cab was probably my favorite. I didn’t try any of the whites so next time I will have more info. Friendly staff and nice items for sale. I could have stayed longer but we had other places to check out.

Nice setting with opera music playing. This review is for the prime rib plate at their bistro: It was delicious and was a plate that could’ve been served at a fancy-schmancy restaurant, complete with dessert. Prime rib was just the way I like it – red and still mooing. The only gripe I have was due to the rainy weather, we had our meal in the tent which they said was heated. It didn’t feel like it and the cold kept me from enjoying my meal fully.

The villa toscano is the smaller sister of the Bella piazza winery. They are quite close to each other, and have a few of the same wines to offer for tasting but not exactly the same, so it is nice to visit here as well as Bella piazza. They had a ton of various Zinfandels to offer. Most were quite good. Definitely a smaller wine tasting area but same friendly service and great selection.

Worst piece of shit winery and restaurant ever. They only serve meat medium well and above. Clearly the Walmart of Amador. Wish I hadn’t stopped.

Joined my first winery last year, Villa Toscano has the friendliest staff. Free pizza on your birthday and free lunch for members every Friday afternoon. Love to spend Fridays in the beautiful area surrounded by vinyards all around. Still my favorite!

I’ve been a club member for maybe 10 years for both Villa Toscano & Bella Piazza? These 2 properties are picturesque!!! simply gorgeous! The Friday member lunch is cool & good as well. I don’t understand all the negative reviews — however; that just means MOREWINEFORMEEEE. great variety of reds and if you can take advantage of their«futures» Ciao Bello

I absolutely love the grounds and some of the wine. Which you may not love all the wine at wineries so that’s expected… but I have been a member several times but have had several bad experiences with customer service. The staff acts as if their wine is the most amazing on earth and are rude! I have had 3 bad experiences that someone was RUDE so I cancelled my membership and kept trying to give it a chance! But after the extreme rudeness… I am so done with this place… the last time I was here All of my friends did not want to go here but I insisted… And again-rude, condescending and righteous… so I am over this place

We were driven here by the promise of food. There are so few places in the area that if you haven’t thought to bring a picnic, you’ll probably be stopping here for something to eat. So we coupled our lunch with a wine tasting. I think the staff here is tired, they were so lifeless. The tasting menu is gigantic — too many things. I think they’re in the jack of all trades, master of none category. Nothing was bad, but nothing was really that great either.

Had great experience at Villa Toscano! Took 10 people from a senior living community and had great customer service!

I am sorry but I am not impressed. The food is generic. You can tell nothing is made fresh in house. I have now been here many times. The wine is mediocre at best. The hosts seem like nice people but they ram the wine club down your throat. They never have the same staff. I feel like a head of cattle when I am there. To each their own but this place is so touristy and unauthentic. When I am there it feels like total amateur hour.

We haven’t been in a long long time, and so we stopped in on our last visit to the area and it’s a bit different, and that may be an understatement. First, the place was rocking. If you like loud and crowded, this is a good stop. On the Saturday we stopped in there were probably 30 people in the tasting room. This is not my preferred way to taste wine as I’d prefer to have a quiet room where you can hear the person tell you about the wine, but the flip side is that it’s crowded for a reason. The wine tasted good. That’s the problem, if you make good wine, create a comfortable environment, and hire nice people, crowds will show up. The downside, they wouldn’t let us bring our picnic lunch to eat at their facility. This caused us to cut our visit short, as it was lunch time, and we were hungry. Good wine, friendly people, no outside food picnic policy, big crowds, we left pretty quick. Next time, this is a mid-week stop, not on the weekend.

The pizza was delicious. The grounds are beautiful. The tasting room was packed which made it difficult to taste so we ended up leaving half way through. Suggestion: remove the over priced items for sale in the tasting room and add another bar or a few small bars.

My wife and I visited this place for the first time today, without checking it on online first, which was a mistake. It’s in a beautiful location, and the wines are okay, not as good as other wineries in the area. We were extremely put off by the lack of customer service. When we arrived at the tasting room it took about 5 or so minutes before we were even acknowledged, despite making eye contact with a couple staff members. They require you to pay the tasting fee upfront, which is highly unusual. The server went through the wines quickly, but provided no information on the wines or asked for any feedback — but she was relentless in pushing the wine club. We have been to many wineries across the Foothills, and have loved many of them, but not here. With the lack of customer service, the push to sell wine clubs, and the tense attitude of the pourers, I get the impression that this winery has very poor management, and from reading other reviews, it looks like a lot of others have noticed this as well. Very disappointing, we will not be back. We will take our business to other area establishments that treat their guests as actual guests.

As soon as you drive through those gates, it’s just a beautiful sight! So much so, that we had our wedding photos there. The brunches and pasta buffets are DELISH! I love that you can picnic outside, also. It’s just a little slice of winery heaven that I’ll never get sick of.

We arrived at 5:16 pm today and we were greeted by a young woman who opened the door for us as we walked up. We purchased 8 tasting flights for $ 40. When Carrie said they were closing in 10 minutes we asked if she could stay open a little longer — and tipped her an extra $ 40. Over the next six minutes a very rude young woman kept telling Carrie she had to wrap it up and close, even though one of us just spent $ 50 on a purse in their gift shop. She put the wines away and said we needed to taste all that we could before 5:30. It was as if the doors were on auto-lock like the place was a bank… And an older woman also had no tolerance for our presence as she emptied the register — which kept us from buying anything else. At 5:29 they asked all of us to leave and one of our guests slipped into the restroom. As she exited into the lobby, to their surprise, she caught the rude young woman refer to our group with derogatory language. We had just spent $ 300 at Helwig where Lewis stayed open an extra 30 mins late so we could buy a case and a club membership. I understand that it’s a Tuesday night and everyone has a closing time… But we were trying to spend money and enjoy their products. Worst customer experience ever, I’ll never go back. And we were happy to spend another $ 300 down the street at the Amador Store on wine and food. Go to Helwig. The wine is better. The view is better. The people are better.

This place is always on my list every time I go wine tasting. They have amazing food, tons of options and a lot of it. Also they have wonderful wine and barrel tasting! Definitely become a club member for great food and wine discounts.
