Our family has been eating here since it opened. The food was great until recently. We noticed in the past year when we order the reuben sandwich it is barely grilled. We continued ordering thinking the cook was having an «off day». Well yesterday we ordered a grilled cheese with tomato and bacon and a Reuben. The grilled cheese had slight grill marks on one side of the bread, the cheese was not melted! In my opinion this is not grilled cheese. The Reuben was not grilled. It was basically a corned beef sandwich. We will not be returning. Enough is enough. To be fair the Tomato Basil soup was excellent.

We ordered a variety of baked and pie-crusted food for lunch, from spinach and mushroom quiches to chicken pot pies and a «buffalo chicken pasty»(which carried my regrets.) It’s pretty clear the chicken pot pie is their sweet spot – not much else was elevated past the level of typical fast food. This place also needs a remodel; everything looks worn and the carpet in front of the drink fountain is disgustingly sticky. Stick with the pot pie if you come here and want something in a pie crust.

I use Grand Traverse Pie Company, in Plymouth, regularly for catering orders. In my job, we have people in from all over the country who always give rave reviews on the food/desserts. For me, it’s more than consistently good food. Barb, who manages catering at this location, gives the best service I could ask for. She’s extremely reliable, friendly and very good as what she does. Thank you, to Barb and her team!

Love the food and love the pie! I like that there’s a combo that allows you to order a sandwich AND a piece of pie for a meal. No judgment. It’s also an awesome place to sit and work. Apart from family and friends, Grand Traverse Pie Co. is one of the things I miss most about Michigan! My relatives know I love it so much that when they’re in the area, they pick up my fave — cherry with chocolate ganache. I could live on that pie forever… and gain 100 lbs but it might be worth it. Haha

Thanks a lot guy who hands you your food for the rude service. And spinach broccoli quiche had all of 2 leaves of spinach and 4 sliced mushrooms decorating the top… just egg inside…

The pies look wonderful and are incredibly tasty. My one complaint is that the employees will be working thanksgiving day WITHOUT overtime pay. That’s just not right.

Stop here from time to time and I feel it’s always good. Not great but nice and that’s all I want sometimes for a quick lunch.

The mountain berry pie with crumble topping is delicious, I have also tried the abc but the berry one is my go to. Order in advance if this is a holiday treat.

Definitely some good pies and desserts. The food is great. Sometimes the staff seems a bit disconnected, or just young and don’t care! Haha, but I go for the food. The dining area is decent and nice location.

I have ordered sandwiches and the quiche here, and they are both very good, but lets face it I am visiting for the pie. The cherry pie is delicious and so are the other pies I have sampled here.

I’ve been going here for some time as it’s right down the street from my parent’s house. Stopped in with my mom for lunch on monday. Their service can be a little iffy, but the food has always been good. I had the grilled cheese and tomato basil soup. Soup was hot and sandwich was delicious. Mom had the manitou which is my usual go-to choice. I love that they give out samples… just makes me want to grab a slice for myself. Thier crumble pies are probably my favorite pie out there.

Came on a Saturday for breakfast. I ended up ordering a breakfast sandwich, which I had never had from Grand Traverse Pie Co. Ok is the nicest I can say about it. You have your choice of egg and cheese, egg cheese and bacon or egg cheese and sausage. I got the egg, cheese, and bacon and it was extremely, extremely greasy. I understand that I ordered the one with bacon and believe me, I do love my fair share of grease, but I could only eat about half. The other reason I could only eat half was they put somet type of dressing or sauce on it. I want to say it tasted like mustard… I generally like GTP, but will stick to their sandwiches, salad, soup, and of course, pie!

GTPC is the best. I have been going here for years and i have to say they have blown away my expectations. I used to go to Baker’s Sq as a kid. Grand Traverse is the only show in town. They have friendly staff and service, are highly reliable around the holidays and OBVIOUSLY have the best tasting pie in the state. To prove they go the extra mile, I was recently there and my kid had a meltdown because he didn’t like the slice of pie he chose(brat). One of the owners noticed and let my son pick out a completely different piece, for no charge. No more tears… happy parents. How can i NOT go back?

I have never eaten anything but pie here and I’m good with that. Several times my mom would bring come an apple pie with caramel dripped on top and I could eat half of it in one night it was that good! Everything from the flavorful crust, to the fresh, sweet apples is amazing. I can honestly say without a doubt this is the best pie I’ve ever had in my life.

Heard a lot of great things about this place and trust me it is warranted. First of all, the selection is vast. I would say about maybe 20 pie selections(some already pre boxed) and sandwiches, pot pies, and maybe about 10 – 15 other bake good items(a huge i might add). Had the fruit cheesecake, which was on point and one of the better cheesecakes i done ever had. I also had the apple crumb pie which was delicious(i actually liked it better in the fridge overnight than fresh). So yes Grand Traverse Pie Company, you have a new fan.

Okay so I cannot speak for the regular menu items, as I exclusively visit here for treats and desserts. I am a sucker for pie. Good pie, that is. Especially of the fruity variety with crumb toppings. Ya can’t really beat those buttery, sugary balls of dough atop a pie. I am a big fan of GT’s cherry crumb pie, and have been stuck in a rut ordering this variety the last couple of times we visited. Blueberry is a favorite with my husband and stepdaughter, but the apple, raspberry and coconut cream pies are amazing in their own right as well. Brownies are good, not great. but the seven layer bar and cookies are just plain delicious. I have to say their regular menu feels a bit Panera-esque(soups, sandwiches and salads), with the exception of potpies. A potpie is one of these American items I have stayed clear off, but I’ve recently started liking them very much. I may just have to get back here and try one out. We don’t really come here very much, so when we do it is a treat. I cannot tell you how many times I drive by right after nine, hitting the steering wheel all crabby and mad. My cravings come at the worst possible times, but these pies are worth waiting for.

I complete agree with Kristin D! Seriously?! People are complaining about how much fat is in the pies! Are you frickin’ kidding me?! Next, we’re going to hear about how the salads are too healthy! Anyway! :P I have sampled pretty much everything on the Grand Traverse menu. I love the salads, the sandwiches, and most definitely the pies! As Kristin stated before, I seriously had to wipe the drool from my chin from the taste of these pies! I loooooove their pies! There pies are better than Baker Squares ever were! Grand Traverse beats them with everything! Honestly, try this place! It’s sooooooo worth it and make your own judgement!

Are people seriously complaining/knocking this place down to 1 star because a pie has too much fat? What’s that you say!!! The sky is blue?! No sh*t Sherlock. I’ve never sampled their salads/sandwiches here but I special ordered a Lemon Meringue pie from here as i was short on time to make one for my boyfriends birthday. I had to wipe the drool from my chin as I stared at all the glistening pies in the display case when I came to pick it up. YUM! My boyfriend was pleasantly surprised as well. I asked how it was and he said it was one of the best Lemon Meringue Pies he has had. I can’t wait to come back in here and get a Cherry Pie so I can accompany it with a scoop of Guernsey Vanilla Bean ice cream. Thank you for being you Grand Traverse Pie. Co… your sugary, diet-ruining, fruity, yummy self.

I’m a liar. The cherry pie is only $ 13. And still awesome. GTP has really done a nice job with their holiday pre-ordered pies. I called Wednesday and picked up the pie Christmas eve. You pre-pay on the phone then go to the back of the store for pickup(vs waiting in line).

After reading the other reviews on this restaurant/pie shop, I was more than a little nervous about trying anything other than the pie. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the other food was! I ordered the grilled cheese with tomato and bacon and it was perfect! I also had the ABC(Apple Berry Cherry) pie(which you have to ask for… it’s not sitting in the display case) with a scoop of ice cream on the side. It was a really delicious lunch!
