This place is terribly unprofessional– and I strongly urge you not to purchase a Lifebooker or LivingSocial or Groupon for this horrible establishment. You’ll basically get the most horrible attitude– and won’t be able to really use your voucher when you need to use it. The owner clearly has a prejudice against the coupons she agrees to sell on these flash sale websites– yet is happy to keep the money coming into her pocket!

I bought a Living Social voucher for Robins Tips n Toes. I had hoped to use it before Thanksgiving to pretty up my hands and tried calling several times on a Monday. I left a message that day, and then again on Wednesday when I hadn’t heard back. I called again on Thursday, at this point quite frustrated that I had not heard back and the voucher was expiring on Saturday. I mentioned in my final message that I would be contacting LS for a refund because I was unable to schedule an appointment despite several calls and left messages that had gone unreturned. I finally received a call back from Robin that night that can only be described as unprofessional — she said she didn’t appreciate being«threatened» and to go ahead and try to get a refund because she had a 50 person waiting list for appointments that weekend. Thankfully LS did offer me a credit for my voucher and I will be very careful to check other reviews for a business before trying out a new place again!

I went into Robin’s Tips and Toes this afternoon and the employee(owner?) was extremely rude to me. She seemed annoyed that I wanted to pay with a groupon and told me she couldn’t get me in for at least a week, when she advertises«walk ins always welcome» on her website. Also, the building has ZERO ventilation, which is really a poor quality for a nail salon. I was in there for aproximately 3 mintues and left with a headache. I am pretty sure that isn’t safe. Although I don’t like wasting money, it is worth throwing away my $ 20 groupon to never set foot in that place again. There is no way I would be willing to spend 45min there getting my nails done by that woman or with that air quality. Yikes!

My review of Robin is only one star for the following reasons: — I purchased a Groupon for the Axxium manicure. When I called to schedule she gave me Thursday at 7pm. When I arrived, Robin had someone else in her chair & she claimed she did not have me down for 7pm. When I explained to her that I was POSITIVE that was my appt, she asked me to return in half an hour. She also made up a time and date(claiming I made a 5pm appt for the following Thurs). Ok, not remotely possible for me to be there by 5pm when I work 60 hours per week so that was BS!). I understand that miscommunications occur, however, while she worked on my nails, Robin admitted that her«usuals» get priority with appts and not newbies. Hm… how is a newbie to become a «usual» if her time is not respected? A simple phone call to me(and she did take my name & phone number when booking) would have resolved this. I would have been happy to accommodate a schedule change. — The Groupon was for a manicure and Axxium polish. Robin did not provide me with the manicure. She simply asked me to wash my hands, then applied the polish after pushing my cuticles back. Robin claimed that she would not be getting into much clean-up until next appt. Too bad, there WILLNEVER be a next appt now! What a gimmick! Way too expensive of a Groupon for a polish job! — Also during my appt Robin clearly explained to me that Groupon takes 50% of their deal price therefore I should always remember to tip on full price of service. She also told me that she makes no money on the Groupon clients unless they return. Maybe if she didn’t falsely advertise, I would have returned. — Regarding the«manicure», Robin did paint my nails neatly and her shop does have a clean appearance. I would have loved to return to her salon but her unprofessional demeanor is something I cannot support. I feel that she ripped me off for not providing the advertised service and therefore I will not support someone that treats clients this way. Sorry Robin… I hope you read this & change your ways for the future because your way is not the correct way to conduct business with anyone.
