I’m always on the hunt for a deal, and you’d sure think that with the amount of beer I drink that I’d have checked this place out sooner. But no. Took me more than a year to get myself in the door. I’m glad I did. Sid’s is a lot bigger than I thought it would be, and it had a surprising amount of variety. I thought discount store maybe it’s discount beer, but no, there were some good craft options as well. I mean, there was a lot of Coors Light and Natty Light too, but we did see some beer that we actually wanted to buy :-) We were instantly engaged by a gentleman who was a lot of fun to talk to. We had a discussion about beer distributors, beer freshness and the best options. I did get the impression that this is a place where things can be hit or miss. They have what they have, they may only get a case of this or a case of that. But that just makes it more like a treasure hunt type of place. Price-wise, we did think that what we bought was slightly cheaper than prices on identical items elsewhere. Maybe 10 percent or so. So they do hold up to the discount portion of their name.

Sitting around the pool with friends and we decide we could use a bottle of good scotch. Realizing that it’s almost 10 o’clock I call SId’s and ask them what time they close. They tell me that I am only minutes away and I should teasily it in time and in fact I have six minutes. Four minutes later I show up at their door and the lights are out and the doors locked. I call them and say I just called you and you said that I had enough time. They responded that their clock was wrong and it was 10 o’clock. Friends left, evening ruined. Thanks Sid’s

Sid’s is one of my favorite liquor stores to acquire cheap booze(that and it’s convenient since I work nearby). I have a fondness for Jameson but refuse to pay over $ 20 bucks for a bottle, and I never do at Sid’s(it always seems to be on sale, rock!). They have really good seasonal sales too, like cheap wine/champagne over the holidays(hell yeah Andre!). I didn’t realize it at first but there is a refrigerated«beer cave» at the back of the store. Sid’s carries more than just mass-produced brews like Bud Light and Coors Light; you can find locals like Grain Belt and Surly, but if you’re looking for more obscure craft beers you might have to take your search elsewhere. Overall, they have a pretty great selection at fair prices. The staff are friendly and the store is clean and well-kept. If you’re looking to save a few $$ on booze, check Sid’s out.

This place is one well stocked liquor store, and it’s right next door to a Rainbow. Chances are good that if you are looking for a specific adult beverage item this place will have it, or will get it for you. Fairly wide aisles, well lit, organized shelves and a walk in beer cooler — there is nothing like a trip to the walk in beer cooler when the temp is over 90. Wine selection is pretty broad and extensive. Staff are helpful and friendly, but don’t mind if you are one of those«just looking» type of folks. Sid’s has some kind of symbiotic association with the Big Top Liquor chain and shares a web site with them. Most time their sales synch up, but not always. I have found it a plus that Sid’s is really good about having their current sale prices on the web site.

This place is our go-to shop for booze. The do not have the widest selection of things compared to some of the other liquor stores in the area, however they have absolutely UNBEATABLE prices(at least on the items I frequent.) Not that their selection is weak; they have plenty of Bell’s, Surly, Schell’s, high-end European brews, and other regional selections. They also have just about every liquor you could ask for from gut-rot vodka to Belvedere. If you need to save a few bucks, definitely check out Sid’s.

This doesn’t have nearly as interesting of clientel as Chicago-Lake liquors in Minneapolis(oh how I miss you crazed Xanax-poppin’ weirdos, ½ dressed and buying airplane-sized Malibu bottles), but it’s a reliable place to get a great price on booze — whether a bottle of Barefoot or a prized bottle of Grey Goose. It’s well-lit and cops don’t guard the door by a metal detector, so that says something, I suppose. I went to the store 2−3x before I realized there’s a *giant* cooler in back for additional beverages.
