Good beer, great atmosphere, but after being disappointed in dinner twice, I gave up on their food.

Found this place through Unilocal and decided to give it a try. So glad we did. Fun little place with great service and good food. My dining companion tried the sampler platter of beers while I stuck with wine. The first glass didn’t taste great and waitress was so nice about recognizing that it was the wine and not just that I didn’t like it(they threw the rest of the bottle out) and got me something that was very good. The antipasta appetizer was very good. Never had the sauteed veggies on one before and it was really good. The Bavarian bun was very good. And big enough for us to share. Prices were very good. Thanks.

I’ve been here a few times and the beer is great, service is friendly, and tasty food – probably the best spot to go to to grab a bite in Pocatello.

The beer was good, but the atmosphere was lacking. I don’t know if it was just a standard Monday, but we went in for happy hour to have a porter and a stout. One person sitting at the bar with her phone. One other patron sitting at a table. It was kind of heart-breaking because the beer was so good. The staff were friendly and upbeat, but we didn’t want to stick around an empty bar, so we left to find food elsewhere.

Good beer, poor food quality. Menu is way to big for a small kitchen. Shorten the menu to 10 – 12 items. Poor service, untrained and no real understanding of service.

Highlights: * Waiter recommended the pizza. It was pretty good. Ordered the Canadian. * Ordered the homemade sarsaparilla Root Beer which was worth it, very good! * Service was slower. 30 – 40 minutes to receive food. Perhaps because it was a Friday night though. * Waiter was very friendly.

The ambience is great. Exposed brick interior with framed posters of house brew labels. Picture windows into brew rooms. Owner in premises greeted us and checked in to see if we enjoyed the meal. Live music if you want cover rock n roll. But you can eat downstairs where there is 70s music on Sirius. There’s also a bar. Cried is college town eclectic. We loved that. In industrial district. Nice story behind the place. Owner former biochemist at university. I ordered custom pizza(see photo) with red peppers extra garlic mozzarella cheese on marinara sauce made at PVB. Delicious. We both had see Salad — lovely romaine and mixed greens with tomato and kalamata olives. We both chose house garlic Italian dressing. Lovely time. There is House brew sasparilla as well as other sodas. I had sparking lemonade. Great. Refreshing. And Refills. My husband didn’t care for the house version of jambalaya but everything else delicious. Lots of choice on the menu.

I’ve been a few times and whether alone or with a friend, whether they’re busy or slow, I’ve enjoyed each visit. I really enjoy the beer and Penny is a really cool and inspirational woman who remembers me and always makes me feel welcome.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time here watching and enjoying all the bands play! I come here on a fairly regular basis and also like the food quite a bit. The servers are friendly and help you with deciding what to get. The only down side is its a little expensive but still worth it. Their beer is always great and home grown! Their new Happy Camper IPA is terrific and I hope the continue making it!

I wanted to thank you and your staff for a great experience last Saturday. My mom’s 80th Birthday Dinner turned out perfect. Our server did a nice job with the group and every single member of your staff was extremely polite. The food and and drink was easy to enjoy. I look forward to visiting Portneuf Valley Brewing next time I’m home for a visit. Thank you again for helping with the weekend festivities. Best to you and your staff.

Wow! Great food and beer. and the atmosphere and location was great. It’s like a hidden gem in Pocatello Idaho… I’ve been too many breweries throughout the United States. I highly recommend you to stop.

I left Hooligans and found myself HHHHHHHHHHungry almost to the point of hANGRY… Praise the good Lord above I found this place on Unilocal!I tracked it down and they were still open! I called and ordered from the diverse menu. They gent who took my order over the phone was great. I ordered Hummus as a starter. They happily substituted the pita chips and crostini for extra vegetables. The hummus is like no other hummus I have ever tried. While it is not my favorite. It was not bad. It had a different consistency than I am used to, but a unique flavor. My husband is on a «diet»(we’re all gonna die kinda diet) and he had quite a few drinks and would later return to our hotel. Sooooooo being the kinda wife I am, I like to be prepared when he is hungry/hANGRY… So I ordered him the antipasto platter and a side salad. For myself I chose the ½ teriyaki bowl and added chicken. This teriyaki bowl is simply amazing! All the ingredients come together so well(minus the crunchy things on top) so unbelievably well that instead of only eating half of it I devoured the entire thing! For a half portion this bowl was very generous. The presentation in the styrofoam container was nice too! The rice came in a styrofoam cup shape and was covered in toaster slivered almonds. I am not drunk, nor starving to death but this teriyaki bowl truly hit the spot. Everything on the online menu sounded great. I wish we had more time in Pocatello but we don’t. I would totally be back for more!!! While waiting for my food to be done I could NOT help but notice the beautiful display of graphic beer posters. The Graphics are amazing and the tshirt selection amazingly awesome! I grabbed the«belligerent jack ass» for the husband and«the bitter bitch» tees for my bestie. I also grabbed the«Grog» Nordic designed shirt for my lil brother who is watching my dog. The designs and clever names of the beers are a kick. I also was lucky enough to sample the«Belligerent Jack Ass» nut brown ale and it was pretty good. They were out of «bitter bitch». Do yourself a favor and if you are ever in Pocatello be sure to visit This place. If you don’t you will be missing out.

Excellent food! Had Canadian Dreamin’ and the pretzel with all three sauces. Pretzel was by far the table favorite! It is a big enough app for a table of 6. The pizza had excellent crust and toppings. Would like a bit more flavorful marinara but seemed like fresh ingredients nonetheless. We also had the Grog and Twisted Amber Ale both very good. Will frequent whenever visiting.

A true gem of a brewery in the most unlikely of locations(the surroundings are very industrial and even somewhat run down). We entered on a Saturday evening, were greeted with smiles and seated straight away. I ordered their Portneuf Cocoa Porter, which was, in a word: delicious. I also enjoyed an order of their Wacky Mac & Cheese which was all oven-baked, crunchy topped, casserole style cheesy loveliness. It also comes with the option of soup or salad on the side. I went for the salad with bleu cheese dressing, The salad was completely fresh and the bleu cheese was house made and topped with amazingly flavorful bleu cheese crumbles. The service was wonderfully friendly. The atmosphere is brew-pub casual. If I lived in Pocoatello, I would definitely find myself spending far too much time here! Get to it!

This place is awesome. We had the restaurant host a rehearsal dinner for us. The owner was fabulous to work with and very accommodating. The service was outstanding and our bar tender very attentive. But the food! Oh my hell! it was incredible. I ordered trays of Vegi-Parmesian, Pork Roast, and Beer braised chicken as the main courses. All three were amazing. All of the sides were as well. The spinach-artichoke appetizer was the best I’ve ever had. All the guests were stuffed by the time the deserts came out; so most of them were boxed up(the deserts, not the guests) and taken home for breakfast. The beer selection is just right for a party and not expensive either. And finally, I had planned for(and paid for) 30 guest but at least 35 showed up. There was plenty of food for all. We will definitely return to Portneuf Valley Brewing next time in Pocatello.

First and foremost, the beer selection here rocks. The food, not so much and it’s extremely overpriced for what you get. I do recommend the small personal pizzas and some brew but you can skip the appetizers and pretty much everything else. I had the Supremo personal pizza and one of their trays of flights. The flight tray was awesome and I ended up having an additional pint of their famous Kristal Hef, which was smooth and refreshing. Service seems to be a bit on the hit and miss side, because our server seemed very uninterested and rarely came around to see how we were doing. No big deal, but I can tell by just looking at her that she’s not digging working there. It’s all in the eyes. Either way, I recommend Portneuf Valley Brewing for your craft brew needs but if you must get food then split a pizza.

Never have I seen so much cheese on a quesadilla. You would think that’s a good thing, but after pulling off nearly a full pound of cheese — processed, trans fat cheese — it starts to get a little annoying. I mentioned to the waitress that I was going to give it to my dog, she twice made comments to the effect that that’s not a good idea. But it’s okay to feed it to humans? Overall? We were not impressed.
