The food here is unreal. They have the best fries, and I can’t get over the Buffalo chicken salad. I recently was there when having a beach day with my fiancé and he loved it. I had a delicious mixed drink that the waitress recommended. I wish I could remember what it’s called but it has orange juice and coconut rum. It was perfect. The entire staff is super friendly. This is one of our favorites when we go to the beach. It’s clean and it’s open so you don’t lose any time enjoying the weather!

Not a bad thing to say about this place. Our waiter, Dalton(not to be confused with the patrick swayze character) was friendly, funny and a great server. Shrimp cocktail were very good quality and big. Cesar salad, crab cakes and burger were all top notch. Even as we were leaving, the bussers and manager mike were saying goodbye. Will definitely be back.

NEVERAGAIN. This place has the worst hostess EVER. The worst execution of filling tables and keeping things running smoothly. We were a party of four and was told we couldn’t sit at the table for 6 because of a party coming in. Um really? we have been waiting at the bar for 30 minutes and the table hasn’t had a single soul. There were plenty of tables open but the blonde moron Deb said people were waiting yet no one ever got sat. She seriously needs to get out of that seat cuz she has zero clue wtf she is doing. We ended up walking out and went to Martells lobster house across the boardwalk. What a waste of 45 minutes. Way to go Deb! You suck

This is a long overdue review. I came here way back over the summer with my sister when we were reliving our memories of being wee babes in Point Pleasant, NJ. Initially we popped in here for a drink after we got confused and couldn’t find the bar that our Dad used to take us to. Noticed that they had half off bud/bud-lite, Margs, and Pina Coladas. Why the hell not. I settled on a regular marg while my sister I think had hers frozen. It was fairly potent and surprisingly didn’t have the overwhelming and disgusting acidity of pre-made sour mix glaring so much back in my face. A well balanced drink until I noticed my glass was chipped. We looked on our cellphones for another bar and stupidly went to Martells where we spent way too much money on a singular drink. What happened next? Naturally after playing ski ball we went back here. The drinks are cheap and its on the boardwalk. No gimmicks. They may have been blaring some Bruce Springsteen. But it was the fourth of July and we were in New Jersey. I would be shocked if I didn’t hear some ‘Born in the USA’ hammered out at some point. We stared at their food menu which bizarrely smelled significantly better than Martells, respite it being junk bar food: mac and cheese bites, old bay fries, fish/shrimp battered in Guinness? We should have stayed and then rolled around in the sand is what should have happened. Our second go an hour later consisted of being given mini drink umbrellas in my cabernet wine glass(incredibly healthy pour), doing shots of whiskey, and having celebratory cigarettes on the back sunny patio. Ugh, Boardwalk Bar & Grill, you make me almost miss Jersey. But seriously, probably one of the more affordable bars in this over-priced strip of frivolity.

I enjoyed that we were able to sit outside and get the ocean breeze, but service was a far cry from acceptable. We had to wait for refills on drinks to the point that it was actually easier to go to the bar than wait for our server. I would give this restaurant a 2, but the food was actually good, so I’m upgrading to a 3. Prices are what you would expect at a beach bar, and the location is great, view is wonderful, but honestly I don’t know if I’d go back given the poor service.

Hot, lazy post Labor Day Sunday. Went in with some concern given the tone of reviews. Well, thank god we didn’t pay attention. Great view, fantastic service. Great sweet potato fries, yummy hot spinach dip, fantastic(and huge) Cobb salad. We will return !

Over priced frozen food. This place is insulting. The food and service was crap. It’s just a tourist trap. Food is much better @ seaside heights. It’s worth the 20 minute drive.

We came in around 8:45pm on Sat night was told for 2 people it was going to be between 20 – 25 min wait, after our names were called we were seated. My friend ordered the Crab Cakes entrée which came with a choice of French Fries, Rice or Mash potatoes, and I ordered the one of their specials Tequila Lime Chicken entrée and 2 Land Sharks. When the order came the Crab Cake entrée came with 3 big pieces of crab cake w/3 different sauces tarter, cocktail and some green sauce which was ok, fries and a side of broccoli, cauliflower & carrots. The Tequila Lime Chicken entrée was basically Chicken Penne Alfredo, it was ok, nothing special, the view over the boardwalk and beach was nice.

First off, I will say this: if you’re looking for a nice romantic place down the Shore for a cute dinner, don’t go here. HOWEVER, if you’re like me and you’re slowly becoming a lush and you enjoy bar food, then you should go here. Was here on Saturday with a few of my friends for my 22nd birthday(youngest Unilocal Elite, btw) and I enjoyed it! Typically we go to Martells Tiki Bar for drinks but the line was out the door and a $ 10 cover? No. I don’t think so. We walked past and saw a sign that said«½ Drinks til 6pm». It was 3pm. Why not? Headed in there and went straight to the bar. The place was a nice boardwalk joint that its typical Shore and nautical décor. I’m not sure if any of you remember, but have any of you watched the cartoon«Rocket Power» from the early 00’s? Remember their restaurant? That’s LITERALLY what this place reminded me of. So anyways, went to the bar and soon enough got a table. During my time here, I got 2 margaritas, a shot of the house tequila, a Pina Colada and an Avocado Cheeseburger(it was my birthday, I’m allowed to celebrate). The Pina Colada was dangerously delicious. I swallowed it with even tasting the alcohol at first until it hit me. I knew I was going to be in a good place. The first margarita was a bit sour for my taste but the second one hit the spot. As for the burger, I thoroughly enjoyed. Maybe that’s because I was feeling real drunk at that point, but overall I loved it. Our waitress was a total sweetheart and I tipped her very well. The overall atmosphere is pretty divey and touristy and you’re gonna experience the Shore in a certain light when you come here. Trust me, I did see someone get into a fight with the bartender for some reason(he was hella drunk off of beer. Bad look for him). Apart from all of that, I definitely will come back. Be warned though, they do require 2 forms of ID so remember to bring that.

I came here with my husband, sister, and brother-in-law the day before the 4th of July. I just want to preface this first by saying that I love the Jersey Shore and have had great experiences with every place I’ve been to, except this place. We stopped by the Boardwalk Bar & Grill during the day for a few drinks at the bar and then returned later for dinner. This was my second time coming here, the first was about 3 years ago with my husband. My experience a few years ago was okay but not extremely memorable so I’ll focus more on my recent visit. When we first stopped in for drinks mid-afternoon, we ordered a few rounds for the four of us. I thought maybe we’d get a buy-back but I guess they don’t do that here. The bartender was nice but a little forgetful. We weren’t really bothered by it though, we actually thought it was a little funny. We left later on to go play some mini golf and do some other fun activities. We returned around 8:00pm for dinner. When we tried to make a reservation by the way, the hostess informed us that we couldn’t make a reservation for a later time, in other words, it could only be 30 minutes from the current time. So we did just that and arrived at the time of our reservation but then we waited… and waited… and waited. What is the point of telling people they can’t reserve a table from an hour or two from now if you’re just going to make them wait anyway? Just sayin’. When we were finally called, we got a great seat(right by the window on the top floor). The view was absolutely gorgeous, we could see a lot of the beach and boardwalk from our seats. Here is where there was a little problem after we were seated. We were the only customers left with a closed umbrella in the center of our table, which made it nearly impossible for us to see each other’s faces. Needless to say, it is not an ideal dining experience to stare at a large red umbrella during your meal instead of your friend’s face. My sister politely asked our server if they could open the umbrella and the manager came over in a very abrasive tone and told us «they cant’ open the umbrella because it will prevent people from seeing the firework show later on.» She quickly disappeared before any of us could reply. It isn’t so much the annoyance of the umbrella as it was her inconsiderate and unprofessional tone & response. Our server was good and the food was okay. About an hour and a half after we were seated, we finished our meal and just as we were about to leave, the Point Pleasant firework show began. The fireworks were beautiful and I’m glad we got to see them(and from great seats.) Overall, there were pros and cons about this place but I don’t know if I like it enough to come back.

Had dinner upstairs, great view of the boardwalk and beach. Food was good but not anything special. Had the filet and snow crab entrée, filet was cooked well but could have used some seasoning, crabs were good. Kids really liked the personal pizza And adults enjoyed the mixologist at the bar pushing out those gigantic drinks. Definitely kid friendly and service was accommodating

Came here tonight with my husband, son and parents. We ate around 8ish and was seated right away right by the window: 5 stars Server was great. Very attentive and friendly. Got our orders out pretty fast. I’m wondering if they were trying to get us out of there in a timely manner but we got our order pretty fast: 5 stars View was great. My son had a kick of all the lights flashing and seeing everyone down below on the boardwalk: 5 stars This is were it gets tricky: Food. I ordered the bleu burger and my husband ordered the crab cake sliders: both meals taste good, but the bread was dry! Super dry. I thought I may have to rehydrate it with some water to get it soft. My husband added more tarter sauce and the mustard sauce it came with so that the bread didn’t dry the whole meal out: –1 star Prices: be ready to pay for it. I understand the whole board walk food thing and the view. I didn’t want to eat at Martells, crab house, lobster house or the one close to the kid’s area with regular overpriced food But wow, with those prices the food should come out perfect at all times.(No dry bread allowed) –1 star

Let me open this before I leave. Out food was not good and the service was even worse… the fries were room temp and the shrimp were heavily battered. This place clearly has an advantage due to location but do yourself a favor and walk elsewhere. As a foodie I am glad I tried it but as a customer I will not return. The burger my friend had was decent grilled but the bun was cold, and not toasted, and they forgot the bacon from her bacon cheeseburger. When asking the young lady what’s best here her response was I don’t know I just get paid… Enough said

The pizza is awesome here. It’s a little pricey at $ 24 for a pie, but it is enormous. One slice fills up the average woman/child, two filled me up. I could probably have 3 if I didn’t drink so much(many of their drinks are ½ off until 6pm daily). Anyways, good food, good service, and for the location, decent prices especially before 6pm for drinks.

My boyfriend and I came here for dinner after being on the beach all day. It was pretty packed on the rooftop but we waited to be seated. In the meantime we went to the bar and ordered drinks. I ordered a coronarita and the bartender wasn’t familiar with the drink I ordered(it’s not normally on the menu) she asked me to explain it to her, next thing I know she’s making my drink and it was EXACTLY the way I described it! I was super excited!!! After we finished our drinks it was time to be seated… We ordered nachos for an appetizer which were realllly good. My boyfriend had pizza. He finished it so I’m assuming it was good. I ordered the fried fish which was good too. The service was outstanding, great atmosphere and decent food!

On my first trip to Point Pleasant and Jenkinson’s, the Tall Man and I needed a place to sit and chill for a bit and BBG seemed the best bet. Sit up on the 2nd floor balcony because it has the best view of the ocean. We had just visited underwhelming Atlantic City a couple days earlier, so this was up and above our previous experience and expectations! We were just there for drinks and snacks, so I can’t say much except that the service was quick and courteous. We ordered guacamole and chips, which were ok – the Tall Man wasn’t a fan of the guac(coming from California, it was too«pureed» for him), but that plus our drinks were fine. As others have mentioned, it’s decent for a stop by but not great enough for a repeat visit for the food or atmosphere. But did I mention the view?

Oh. I guess I never reviewed Boardwalk Bar & Grill. Anyway, we had lunch there last summer with two of Mike’s godson and his brother. I thought the food was pretty unremarkable(not bad, not great), even though the four year old told us he had«the best cheeseburger of [his] life,» so what do I know? The view of the beach made me forget the wait for our table. Come to this spot for a bite while visiting Jenk’s for the day, but don’t make a separate trip for it.

Oh, hey, bartender! Barrrrtennnnder? Do you think my shirt is ugly? Look at me! When we finally were able to get the attention of the bartender, we figured we would voyage beyond the traditional Coronas and Margaritas to get some real deal down-the-shore mixed drinks. I did not expect responses that included, but were not limited to… «let me see the ingredients» «we don’t have that» «we don’t have that either» «I can’t make that» … «I CAN make that!» Wait, no. No you cannot. I don’t know what I got, but it wasn’t the«quintessential Jersey Shore drink» as promised by the menu. No worries. When we finally got seated, we returned back to the land of normal drinks and got some food. Despite the experience at the bar, the food was actually really good. We inhaled the clam strips, lopped bread in the lobster bisque, and my blackened mahi-mahi salad was tops. Sure, a little pricey, but I would expect that on the boardwalk. Unless you want funnel cake and ice cream for lunch, you can’t really go wrong. Word to the wise: There is a little problem of people going upstairs to use the bathroom or something like that(I didn’t know there was one up there). I ventured downstairs to the bathroom and on my way back I was stopped, having someone tell me that I wasn’t allowed up. I explained I was sitting at the bar, but the lady(owner?) said NOPE because she didn’t see me there a few minutes ago when she was up there. Of course, I was in the bathroom. I was relaxed,(it is the beach after all) so I challenged her to follow me and I proceeded to blow by her & the security buddy and up the stairs. They followed… and were in the red. Despite the bartender and the almost closed staircase, the food was quite good and the view is awesome. Solid boardwalk three star grub, any day of the week.
