Last night, Monday, was quiet, but good to watch the Stanley Cup finals at the bar. Had a pint of hoppy locally brewed beer and a buffalo chicken salad that was deliciously fresh with crunchy greens and sinfully good with blue cheese and high quality chicken tenders. Always an interesting mix of customers coming and going. You must check out Karaōke night.

As a frequent patron of this establishment, I was pretty put-off by my experience at the Ark this evening. I ordered a taco salad as my entrée, and at first the only issue was that they forgot to add the dressing. Then, a few minutes later, I pulled a long, black hair from the center of my meal. We called over the manager/owner and he just kept asking if I wanted him to make another one, never apologizing. The waitress was very apologetic and asked if I wanted something else from the menu, so I got a burger. At the end of the meal, they gave my wife her to go container in a plastic bag that was COVERED in a splatter of some greasy substance. The only compensation for the hair was that they took the taco salad off the bill. I wasn’t looking for a handout, but at no point were we apologized to or followed up with by management, who stood near the hostess stand five feet away for the entire duration of our meal. I’ve never had an issue with this place, but this experience definitely left a sour taste in my mouth.

Best burgers in town. Impressive beer selection with a lot of NJ beers you can’t find anywhere else. No wi-fi! Bartenders are all great people and servers. The fireplace hightop tables are my favorite place to get a drink and bite to eat in the winter.

Amazing place, amazing bartender. Dave was fantastic. Very accommodating, great drinks, went over and above our expectations. His recommendations were spot on for the food. Could not have asked for a better experience. Such a cozy place, it made our trip even more enjoyable. We will definitely be back.

Went there after a night on the boardwalk with son girlfriend and her 2 kids. Place was crowded waitress and or the kitchen were over whelmed judging by long waits for drinks apps and food. DONOTGETTHECRABCAKES! I did and wish I got the burger. I guess I figured a shore place was a safe bet for seafood.nope. Everyone else’s dishes got thumbs up though. One suggestion for the ARK use the drunken clams recipe on the steamers and drop the large clams altogether and you will have a winner. Moe out

Went here for lunch with a buddy of mine during the day on a Thursday. The place was pretty dead. Maybe about half a dozen folks In the place. It’s your typical beach area dive with a few decent beers on tap. My buddy & ordered soft shell crab sandwiches that were on special. The crab was greasy & the roll was way too much for the size of the crab. We had the two sandwiches & about six beers and the bill was about $ 55. Not too bad. Wouldn’t go outta my way for the place, but it did the trick. Tip from a local: This place is BYOF. You can bring in your fresh catch, and they clean it & cook it for ya.

Skip all the tourist traps and head here. The burgers get rave reviews from lots of different reviews and I must agree. For the price, it’s one of the better burgers I’ve eaten. I had the port wine cheddar burger medium rare, cooked to perfection. The port wine cheddar was delicious and added the perfect amount of saltiness. The slaw on the side was nice and sweet and the pickle was a great add, but the fries were not my fave. The atmosphere is pretty cool, it’s dark and cozy, and nick, the bartender was helpful and very friendly. He’s Chris Pratt’s doppelgänger, btw. For the beer selection, there’s a lot of local beers on tap, most were IPAs and pricey, ask the bartender for samples if you’re not sure. All in all, I’d go back to try another burger, maybe drink a domestic beer to keep my cost down.

My wife and I enjoy dining out at the Jersey Shore and that’s year round, we’ve been on the Asbury Park boardwalk dining in the February freeze. This past Sunday we found ourselves in Point Pleasant and were thinking of Spike’s Fish Market when my wife suggested The Ark, a spot we hadn’t been to in years. We ordered drinks, her a white wine me a Margarita. The wine was too sweet for her taste and the Margarita didn’t have much tequila in it. When the drinks arrived at the table we ordered the Chicken Nachos with a side of guacamole. The portion was large, even for two, looked great, but once you started eating it was a bit dry, probably in the oven too long. And the guacamole was $ 2 for a very small side. Not so sure that it was homemade either. For the main courses my wife ordered a Veggie Burger which she seemed to enjoy and I got the Port Wine Cheese Burger. I always order my burgers rare, the burger was excellent, tasty, juicy and cooked to perfection. Both burgers were served with French fries, cole slaw and a dill pickle spear. For me the fries could have been crispier but the disappointment was in the cole slaw and the pickle, those are two things that I love and these just failed to satisfy. All in all it was an average ordinary dining experience, neither good or bad just middle of the road. We didn’t regret going there but we won’t hurry back either.

Went there on Saturday night! I was away on a girls weekend and we were headed to a concert and drove up the coast. The food was delicious. I had the drunken Clams that were cooked to perfection. Nice and big and juicy, They were delicious. For dinner I had the Tilefish special. I had never heard of Tilefish before but the waiter said they had friends that caught it locally and it was a meaty fish like monkfish so I decided to try it. It was AMAZING and the portion was huge. They also were great and substituted the rice for potatoes for me. The service was awesome and it was much different than my normal Shore experiences. I would definitely go back and take my husband so he can have the experience too. Let me add, my two girlfriends had Salmon and one had the Broiled Seafood platter and it was all delicious and the fish was cooked perfectly!

The Ark has the vibe of an old sailor’s pub. It’s dark with wooden benches with the names of past patrons etched into them. This ambience doesn’t stop beach goers from stopping in though. I ordered the fried oysters which were cooked well and came with the optional sides of coleslaw and potato. My girlfriend ordered the blackened chicken salad. This came in a large bowl with lots of spinach, red peppers, chicken, avocado, and fried goat cheese. We also ordered the homemade seafood bisque which was a special appetizer. It was very creamy with generous chunks of crab, lobster, and shrimp. Overall the food was very good. The service was just a touch slow but it was Memorial Day Weekend so it’s understandable. The bar also has lots of craft beer options. They have on tap several local breweries and a special home brew which I need to try. If you’re planning on staying a while, they also have a beer list program where you have to drink a specific variety of beers over s course of time.

Hit the place today, not a bad bar, it certainly has character. If the bar top could talk… oh man, what a yarn. I had some local beer, wasn’t sure if it was flat or the glasses were the problem. Beer was drinkable. Went with the wine cheddar burger, very good. The fries were hot, and the pickle crunched. Nice. The employees were attentive. Good job.

Cool little spot, excellent food as the burgers are insane as are the loaded nachos. The bar doesn’t seat many(perhaps 10) and it’s not a spot to watch a game. The staff is excellent. Many beers to choose from.

Feel free to BYOPK(bring your own pen knife) to carve your name in your booth at this quintessential dive bar along Route 35 just seconds from the ocean at Point Pleasant Beach. A fish and burger joint with plenty of beers on tap, we first enjoyed their hospitality probabaly 15 years ago but it eventually fell off our RADAR screen until just recently. Previously only Harpoon Willies in Wall delivered a great burger experience — but now you can enjoy the same level of quality and taste here at the ARK. A family place for sure with the long wait times in the summer months but well worth it. Based on the burger alone I’m giving them a 4 star rating.

The Ark is hands down one of my all time favorite restaurants in Point Pleasant. Been coming here for years and it’s always a pleasure to dine here. Whether I’m in the mood for an award winning burger, or one of their fresh seafood entrees, I’ve always been impressed by the quality of their food. The same servers that have been here for years are always friendly and eager to tend to the customers. If they happen to have Tilefish on the menu, I highly recommend it, served broiled over garlic sautéed spinach, it’s one of the best seafood dishes I’ve ever had.

Decent food, decent service, better than average beer selection, fair – not cheap – but fair prices. For example, a steamers Ap was $ 22, but it was about 3 dozen – more than enough for 2 – 4 people to share depending on appetite. In fact it probably could have been ordered as a main. The fish is at the pricier end of their spectrum, but it is fresh, properly cooked and on point. The half rack of ribs we ordered were served as a full rack – enough to feed 2 or a very hungry 1. If that wasn’t a mistake, I’m curious to see what they’re serving as a full rack! The only downside is that they were parboiled. However, that’s to be expected in a pub. Good enough. The staff was friendly and accommodating. When a member of my party expressed disappointment with a weakly poured spirit, our server brought him out another on the house. A very nice touch indeed The joint is quite loud with graffiti carved into the wood, and a ‘homey’ décor making it a very casual joint and a great place to dine with kids. The food is just good enough. It’s not fine dining, but it hits the spot.
