This place was a joke. No food and over an hour wait. This is a waste of time. Do not come here. Food looks good. If only we could eat it. We will not be back and I do not recommend to anyone. Safe yourself the time and hunger. So unfortunate as it got good reviews. Food was definitely not worth it. The fatty greasy burger was not appealing in the slightest.

We celebrated Mother’s Day here. We had the best waitress & the staff was very nice. We had a party of 20. so we started on the outdoor patio with drinks(BYOB)-beautiful view of the ocean… then we went inside for dinner. We had appetizers –steak skewers & piranha ribs — delicious — main course was also cooked to perfection & the desert was amazing… everyone had a great time & no complaints!

We had dinner here on Friday night(Good Friday) and had the place to ourselves. The view was great and our hostess, Andrea, was simply amazing. Of course, we were the only guests she had at the time but, she was friendly and warm and gave us fantastic advice when we asked about places to go and things to do in the area. The food was wonderful. We had the piranha ribs and duck confit flatbread, both of which were very good. For dinner, I had the scallops and my wife had the burger. The scallops were the freshest I’ve had and were perfectly prepared. My wife said the burger was fantastic and, after a bite, I would agree. We truly had a memorable evening and will return. Thanks to Andrea for her kindness and advice!

Came here for my boyfriends sisters birthday. We happened to come on a beautiful night and were seated outside. The restaurant is nice, and the outside seating is overlooking the beach. The dinner started with some wine and appetizers. The table ordered several orders of the Piranha Ribs and the Tuna Poke Taco. The Tuna Poke Taco’s were delicious. For entrees most of the table ordered the Filet Mignon, I ordered the beet salad with a side of steak, and my boyfriends mother ordered the Gnocchi. My beet salad was a bit on the sour side. The steak was pretty good although others said their filet was just so-so. The gnocchi was also reported to be average. What was really uncomfortable is that we were basically having dinner in the dark. The candles on the table weren’t enough. At some point my boyfriend had to put the flashlight on his phone in a glass in order for me to see what I was cutting on my plate. The waitress was nice enough and their were fireworks that nice that made for a positive experience. I wouldn’t necessarily come here again though.

Went with a group of 9 on a whim, and luckily for us there was availability as another 10-top no showed! Excellent service. I got piranha ribs and seafood chowder and they were both delicious. The rest of my party all seemed to be pleased. Will go again if I end up in Point Pleasant again.

Nice laid back seaside décor. BYOB policy is nice and staff very friendly. Quite pleased with the dishes, although the rice ball appetizer was so large, I barely had room for the main entre.

Greatly disappointed. I was excited to try Firefly for the first time because with so many wonderful restaurants in the area, this appeared to be another but also with a great view. Let’s start with the good and work down. LOCATION!!! Not many ocean front restaurants. It was great to eat and watch the waves at the same time. But let’s face in, we go to restaurants for the food not the view. Service outstanding. Wonderful waitress. Friendly and accommodating. All waitresses should be as good. Even the owner came by and he was very nice as well. The little neck clam appetizer was delicious. They used ham instead of bacon(bacon with clams I’ve seen more often) and the ham was a more subtle flavor that allows for the clams to be appreciated more. The broth was so good we asked for extra bread. The pirrahna ribs were good. Very interesting and unique. I wish they had a unique creative sauce to go with them. Looks like the just put sirracha over them. Maybe a sirracha based light bbq sauce rather than just plain sirracha out of the bottle. Not what I would expect from a top restaurant. Entrees, complete failure. First the scallops. They were beyond over cooked. Dry, rubbery and unappealing. Didn’t even get a nice carmelized sear on them. All i have to say about that. They were instantly sent back. Pork chop, also over cooked. I was excited when i was told the chef likes to prepare it medium because that is how i prefer to eat it. My response was medium would be perfect. It came out well done. Probably a little more than well done and I’m just being nice. The Brussel sprouts were advertised as «crispy» but they were just over done as well. Very dry. To bad because the bbq sauce was delicious and if everything wasn’t over cooked, it would probably be a great dish. Because of that, i was able to make it thru the pork chop but the scallops were replaced with the gnocchi. OK by this time we probably just have a negative attitude towards the food but these seemed pretty unexciting as well. Under seasoned and i would essentially call them average. Would love to go back and enjoy the scenery but going to have a hard time especially because of all the other wonderful choices to eat in the area.

We are at the breakfast buffet great view. Stale bread. A small cup you have to beg for a refill. No one asks if you want water. No fruit. Really a view with a lousy breakfast. Many local diners better. but the view is great.

There was a good and a bad to this restaurant. First the good: the piranha ribs seemed to be the specialty so I got them and was not disappointed. For desert I got the cheesecake which was absolutely spectacular. Also the waiter was nice and did not pester but provided quick service. Now for the bad: the menu was very limited. My date and I both got the salmon which was good, but we really didn’t want to get the same thing. The menu was extremely limited. Also the atmosphere was kind of weird. We entered through a sliding glass door and were greeted in a very awkward fashion. We were the first ones there even though we got there 1 hour after opening. It is also hard to find because it is surrounded by a rather sketchy motel.

Love, love, love, love! Love the food, love the view, love the service, love byob. Firefly Oceanside is such a gem! Small, eclectic American menu plus a sushi menu. Beautiful spot, off the beaten path, ON the beach in Pt. Pleasant. The owners are amazing, super friendly staff, and the chef leaves nothing at all to be desired. We had a table of six, we all ordered something different and everyone LOVED their meal. They never disappoint. The restaurant is simple and beautiful, not stuffy. Very comfortable with an AMAZING uninterrupted backdrop of one of our fabulous New Jersey beaches! GOTHERE!!!

My wife and I arrived at this restaurant a few minutes before closing after a long journey to the beach. The staff immediately set a table for us and essentially reopened the kitchen. In addition Mark Roth, the owner, traveled himself to the local liquor store to purchase us a bottle of wine as we did not know it was BYOB. Amazing food(try the piranha ribs!!) and service in an oceanfront setting. We’d go back in a NJ minute!

The most accommodating staff I’ve ever experienced. The customer service was absolutely amazing. Only to be outshined by the view and the ambiance. The food was exceptional. I can’t wait to go back… And be sure to BYOB. That was my favorite part.

Food was excellent. Staff very friendly and attentive. You cannot beat the view… oceanfront with lots of windows. Very small restaurant… about 13 tables so definitely make a reservation. Only drawback was that it was very loud. We will definitely visit again!

Outstanding food. The piranha ribs were as delicious as advertised. For my main course I had the Premium Reserve Pork Chop. It may have been the juiciest pork chop I ever had. It also came with an incredible side of brussel sprouts with fried onions. It’s very pretty right next to the beach(behind the White Sands Motel) but the bad acoustics made it a little too noisy for my taste. Hostess, Server, Owner were all very friendly. BYOB!!! I would call this fine dining food served with a very casual flair.

My fiancé and I ate here on Valentine’s Day. She has a particularly childish and picky palate, and pleasing it is no small task. Firefly Oceanside was able to do just that. They had a nice three course holiday menu, but her favorite dinner options were not offered on the special menu so we opted for the regular menu. Pork & Brie taquitos– Love the idea. Taquitos are my favorite Mexican dish. This was the dish I was most excited for, but was mildly disappointed. The shell of the taquito was larger than expected/necessary. It was out of proportion with the meat and cheese, and dried out each bite as a result. I don’t think this was an attempt to ‘cut corners’ in a price saving effort– I received three large taquitos stuffed with a substantial amount of meat. I just wish the shell had been smaller to balance out each bite. When asked, I told my fiancé they were ‘good’. My dinner was a sesame crusted ahi tuna in a broth with noodles. Absolutely delicious. Can’t say enough good things about it. Tuna was fresh, broth was balanced, vegetables were fresh and crispy. Superb. My fiancé had the filet mignon for dinner. Tender and delicious. The vegetable sides were sautéed and had excellent flavor as well(I ate most of them). Service was attentive. A very good dining experience. I will be back in the summer to try the piranha ribs.

Came here for Valentine’s Day dinner. They had a special menu for $ 100 — share an app, entrée and dessert also available was the regular menu. We had a bottle of French Burgundy(it’s BYOB) so we decided there was the perfect combination on the special menu so we went with that. The appetizer was a lamb tourine with a beet aioli served with toasted bread. Delicious! The flavors just went wonderfully with the wine. The main course was a veal roulade with spinach and wild mushrooms over fettuccine — again amazing! Dessert was just pure evil — mini cronuts with salted caramel. If I’m cheating on a diet — this is what I’m cheating with! I cannot wait to come back and try the regular menu! It’s that good!

Let’s just say the piranha ribs are better then any rib I have ever had. The owner of this restaurant and his wife are very friendly and hospitable. Such a comfortable environment and a very modern scene. Sushi was amazing and so creative. Duck and Brie taquitos were phenomenal. Osso bucco I felt like eating the bone. My girl got barramundi which was amazing. I feel so perfectly full and I will be coming here every time I want to eat a high class amazing dinner. I would give them 10 stars. I am simply amazed.

Great view, great food, great people. I’ve been here a handful of times and I have had an amazing experience each and every time. The Piranha ribs are unreal– pair it with the lamb chops, and you won’t ever want to leave! This is place is great for many occasions. Whether you are looking for a romantic date night, or a fun night with the family, Firefly Oceanside has it all! Definitely check i out.

All I have to say is, Piranha Ribs!!! Seriously, who came up with this recipe. Eric(head chef) is a true genius/crazy scientist in the kitchen. This amazing appetizer falls apart at your fork with and has a perfect sweet yet spiced finish that is unique and delicious. I got excited, let me take a step back. Firefly Oceanside is a little hidden gem that just took on new ownership in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. 2 great things about this location, 1. ITSONTHEOCEAN. You have an amazing view from pretty much any seat, and they have a huge deck for warmer weather and private events. 2. It’s a BYO, bring a bottle of wine and save a few $$ on a nice dinner date. The atmosphere is very comforting, typical upscale shore restaurant. They have a great sushi chef that adds some Japanese flair to the menu(try one of his special rolls you wont be disappointed) Speaking of, the menu covers a wide range of dishes from pastas to seafood and steak. You have to check it out for yourself, I’ve been here 3 times now and they change the menu seasonally so there is always something to come back for. One dish that stood out in particular was the Baramundi, an Australian Sea bass. The flavor was outstanding, and texture? melt in your mouth!(think chilean sea bass with a little kick in the pants!) These guys do a great job finding fresh, unique and flavorful fish to bring to their menu. Highly recommend checking this place out before they are no longer a «hidden gem» Kudos to the owner for turning this location around. BTW, I met Mark, the new owner. Class act, originally from Germany which has inspired some of his dishes(very cool touch) Enjoy!

Such a wonderful view at this place. Whether you’re seated inside or on their outside deck, beautiful beach views and sunsets. Very romantic! Go up the outside staircase and open the sliding glass door, yes that is the front door. And don’t forget BYOB, they give you an ice bucket. Everyone is very friendly. The owner introduced himself and our server was always around, he never even let our water glasses get empty! The food was DELICIOUS! I went with a group of 7 so we tried alot of dishes. First off, toasted rolls and butter on the table, which is always nice. For apps we had the caprese(with thick cut heirloom tomatoes!), the steak skewers, a veggie flat bread pizza with broccoli rabe and lemon ricotta, hummus with Pitas, short rib flat bread and sushi! Very nice sushi menu with some unique options you don’t see everywhere: like mango & crab! Veggie rolls as well for vegetarians in your group. For entrees we had grilled chicken salad, fettuccine and clams, sun dried tomato penne, a burger on a brioche bun with fries and a braised lamb shank with cabbage and spetzel(the owner Mark said he was raised in Germany so the lamb dish was wonderfully authentic). They have a very talented chef: Eric Yegelwel ! We met him as well, he takes his craft very seriously, and it shows! And then dessert! A Flourless chocolate cake with cherries, a fruit tart, a banana cheesecake topped with whip cream and strawberries and a chocolate chip sandwich filled with cannoli cream! I also have to mention the super cool piranha tank! Who has that?! They swim around in a pack, really fun to watch. Firefly also serves piranha ribs! We didn’t try them but we hear they’re a big seller. No they don’t serve the pet piranah’s out of the fish tank, we asked! They have a kids menu too, with things like chicken fingers, etc. Everything we had was great but fall is coming and they’re about to put out a fall menu so what we had may not be available long, hurry in!
