Look it is what it is and that is a down and dirty pizza joint where you can enjoy a very nice pie on the cheap. Jan and I stopped in for lunch today and had two slices and a soda for $ 4.50, you can’t go wrong at this price. Nice tasting NY style pizza with thin crust and just the right amount of tomato sauce. They will not win any culinary awards for sure but if you are in the area stop in for lunch or get a take home pie for dinner. I think you will enjoy…

Have been eating at Vesuvio’s since Dominic opened over 45 years ago. By far the best pizza at the Jersey Shore. Don’t live in Point any longer but when back in town I eat there as often as possible. Was just home 4⁄24 thru 5⁄1 and I think I stopped or picked up a pie 6 times. Can’t wait to be back home for a week in July.

Great local real Italian/Jersey pizza! Seriously, the old guys behind the counter are still speaking Italian. It’s been a family favorite for my in-laws in Pt Pleasant for decades. The interior hasn’t changed at all, in the best of ways… old school décor that reminds my wife of coming here in the 80s and 90s growing up. There are a lot of great pizza choices in this area and Vesuvio’s is in the top tier… go here.

If i could rate less than one star I would. I went into the store at 10 to 9. They close at 9 pm. I asked for a large pizza and the guy turned around and said I’m not making a pizza for you. I asked why not and they said they were closing. I asked what time they said 9. I said it’s not 9 yet. They still refused me. I have worked for many years in food service. You want to treat your customers right you serve and take orders until the time you close. Then once those orders are done you clean up and go home. And for that matter what establishment that serves pizza closes at 9pm?

I’ve been coming here for well over 15 years and it’s probably one of the most consistent pizzerias with their food all around. Family owned and nothing has changed. My personal favorite pizza —(I’ve had it all around NJ&NYC)!!! Thanks for the amazing service and many more years to come!!!

Best pizza around! If only they delivered it would be a five for sure. Quick service too!

The fact that this place still only takes cash means I rarely go there. I go to Pats instead. What is the deal? I wonder if they don’t take cards for philosophical reasons or some other reason. I’m sure they lose a ton of business from folks like me who don’t always carry cash with them. Otherwise, the pizza is probably the best in town. But no cash, combined with no delivery, means I only go to this place like once or twice a year. I would probably go or order from there several times a month if they accepted cards and started delivering.

As most of the reviews say, the pizza is consistently great. Maybe the best in the area. My only complaint is that it’s too close to my office. My pants are getting a little tight around the waist.

I grew up with this place. This was my grandfather’s go-to pizza place, and I’m so glad to see that it’s still one of the best places to get an excellent pizza. Their pizza is absolutely delicious! The perfect blend of sauce and cheese. This is a cash only place, but they do have an ATM inside. Keep up the good work Vesuvio’s!

My family brought me here for the first time when I was 4 years old. My parents grew up in Point Pleasant. And now, almost 25 years later, I’m bringing my wife to this place… And it’s just as good as I remember.

Ordered take out large white pie with broccoli. Person who took my call was rude. Picked up pie and the crust and pie were not even cooked, raw dough inside !! Pizza was horrible.

Excellent NY/NJ style pizza. Consistent over the years… Old school throwback neighborhood place. No cards, Cash is King type of guys which is how more business’s should be in today’s economy… keep up the good work, I will be back in the area soon…

This place has a special place in my heart. I grew up with this place. I live in Colorado now, and we are trying to catch up. Doing a good job, but not there yet. This is the best. You guys are lucky to have this gem in your neighborhood. The classic east coast pie. I’ve been all around the east coast and the NY area. Nothing compares. I miss it very much. Don’t take it for granted guys.

Ordered 4 pies to go. It was fine. I guess slightly better than standard. Cash only. Only has traditional toppings, no margarita pizza, Hawaiin, or stuff like that. For regular pizza it’s fine.

Vesuvio consistently has the best classic pizza I’ve ever had. Even though the quality of New Jersey pizza has declined over the last ten years, Vesuvio remains superb. They use a little more provolone than average, making the pie slightly salty and oily. It’s not the thick orange oil you see flowing out of nasty pizza, however. Vesuvio specializes in classic toppings and the plain pie, so it doesn’t follow the Domino’s inspired trends(barbecue sauce, chicken bacon ranch etc.) if that’s your thing. It doesn’t matter, because Vesuvio is that good. The rest of the menu is limited and prices are fair. I’ve been coming here off and on for nearly 15 years. For authentic Italian made pizza, Vesuvio is the best I’ve had in the U.S. Europe and Asia.
