Aladdin Jr. Restaurant and Cafe

It says here that they close at 1am and I got there around 11:50 something and I was about to walk in then some guy blocked the gate and said that they were closed. I was craving Mediterranean food that night like a crack addict and that guy killed it for me!

My husband and I have gone here for about 5 years, maybe longer. I’ve been feeling guilty that I haven’t written a review before, so here it is. It used to be our go to place for a night out, but we can’t go out so much now. My husband got laid off. Its one of the few places to go for good food late at night, if not the only place. Love the music. The staff was very attentive and the food is great, fresh and authentic. The things we would get regularly, but not all at once are: turkish coffee, zahra (it’s out of this world), lentil soup (wonderful), mediterranian salad, hummus, stuffed grape leaves, beef or lamb kabobs (very juicy and delicious), and I forget what its called, but its hummus topped with grilled meat. Its great too, very tasty. The prices are pretty reasonable.

Wow… this was my first time here. I ordered the Chicken sharwarma and it was disgusting! It looked like the chicken had been boiled and tasted like it too. Service was so slow and really bad. We asked for straws and he said they were out of them. The server dropped off our food and then disappeared. He never came back to check up on us or to give refills on our drink. We thought he was in the back so my friend decided to call him and asked him for the refills. He popped up from behind the counter to our surprise… WTH?! My friend wasn’t allowed to pay cash because they didn’t have money in the register. Who doesn’t have money in their register??? This place is really dirty too… NEVER AGAIN! I wish I could give 0 stars.

Real bad service and the falafel was burned. The staff was not attentive and rarely came to check on us.

This is my second visit. My second Groupon which is why I came back. It was OK the last time and not great this time.
The service is very slow. Slow enough that I’m writing a review while waiting for my check. We’re seated outside in a gaudy patio because there’s too much smoke in the eating area due to the hookah lounge.
It’s freezing out here, btw.
The food took a while and the beef shawarma was room temperature and chewy. It’s obviously not fresh. The chicken shawarma was warmer and better. The rice wasn’t even hot. We were the only customers when we walked in. Why did the cold food take so long?
–Again, I’ve typed three paragraphs, looked up the proper spelling of shawarma and I’m still cold and waiting on the check. She hasn’t checked on us since she brought the food out twenty minutes ago!–
The décor is mismatch and out of date.
There is a Mediterranean restaurant a few doors down and it’s much better. We came here by mistake because of a Groupon. We tried it again to be fair.
The food was mediocre and we won’t be back.

One of my all time favorite places! The owner is exceptionally nice and the food is phenomenal. This is the best mediterranean place around because their food is authentic and fresh not like the chain places around here. I love coming to their buffet (11:30−3 I think).

Pros: hummus
Cons:
— Sticky, gross floor (our shoes were sticky far after we left)
— Flies buzzing around us and the food (we sat inside)
— They were out of 3 things that we tried to order
— Schwarma was not tender but very hard and crispy… like it had been sitting out all day and reheated in the microwave
— Slow service despite the place being empty
Won’t be returning.

Came here for a late night grub session. The dining area was empty as most of the people who were there were in the back smoking hookah.
The first table we sat at in the back patio area was unstable and wobbly so we were inclined to sit in the dining area. Service was slow and ended up having to get our order to go. Perhaps service during the day is better. The food was pretty tasty but I think the chicken was a bit overdone.
Id be willing to come back to give it another shot during the day.

The food was the best part thought the chicken had an odd texture. It was a late night visit when we stopped by to grab a quick dinner. The place was fairly empty, to be expected, but the rooms were not very well maintained. I had been to this restaurant many times in the last 10 years and now I wanted to show my girlfriend. It was not what I expected.
We waited over 20 mins for our food and smiles were in short supply. Perhaps going during the day would be better. I won’t be going back late at night.

Was in the area yesterday saw the lunch buffet deal had to come back. Came back today tried the buffet selection is limited but good. Some item were too dry but could be that 3pm is not the best time. Otherwise OK should try to order from menu next time

The only reason why I didn’t give this place one star was because the hummus was particularly good. I ordered delivery from this place through Grubhub. First, for some reason, the potato pastries I ordered «are not for delivery», even though they’re right there on the menu. So without calling to ask me, they gave me stuffed grape leaves instead — which I abhor. I ordered one lentil soup and one beef vegetable — they gave me two lentils, no explanation. The lentil soup was overly salty. The minced lamb in pita were burnt. The baklava was good, but four small pieces for five dollars seemed overpriced. And the lamb kabobs were over-​seasoned. I won’t be ordering from here again.

Went here for the first time and ordered food for carry out. The chicken kabob was great and the service was exceptional!

We arrived around 1pm and waited for service for 10 minutes and didn’t see a single staff member anywhere during that entire duration even though there were other customers seated, so we wound up leaving and going to another restaurant. It seemed as though everyone had gone on break at the same time without any regard for coverage. The service can’t even be called bad, it’s nonexistent.

This place has delicious food and great prices. I got the lamb shwarma and the lamb was tender and delicious. The hummus was crazy good. I ordered grape leaves (a personal favorite) which weren’t the best grape leaves I’ve ever had but still not bad. I felt like the food had a bit of a wait but when it got there it was definitely worth it!
Our server was really nice and really attentive. The manager came by and also asked how the food was. Always a nice gesture and a plus in my book!
I went to Aladdin Jr. a few years ago remembering the food being good and they are still on the ball. I totally recommend this place!

First time here, love the big servings, the meat was so tender and juicy, the service are very good. Definitely will be coming back.

I’ve been going here forthe last 10+ years. Not much has changed.
Pros: great food, amazing garlic sauce, decent hookah
Cons: service sucks! 1) they always ignore my request to not add onions to dishes that have them; 2) waiters are no where to be found, you have to hunt them down.
Again, they food is good and it’s a relaxed environment so fun place to go.

Remember how happy you were watching Aladdin was growing up (r.i.p Robin Williams)? Eating here is the equivalent of that. How could you not smile while eyeing that huge mural of Aladdin chillin’ with the magic carpet? I’m sure he saves a ton of money on gas.
I’ve been coming here for years & have brought many friends as well. Best thing on the menu is the chicken skewers. It’s very juicy and flavorful every time I get it! Even my friends who live on the east coast want to eat here every time they visit.
Things to try: Chicken skewer plate. Comes with rice, salad, & hummus. I heard the beef was also very good, but I’m loyal to the chicken here since it’s so delicious.
Also, they have hookah here in the patio.

I don’t know what just happened here. I don’t know why we just didn’t get up and leave when we had the chance. I had to reorder 3 different times due to them being out of the lamb, beef and kabis. Food wasn’t bad but had to settle for something that wasn’t my first or second choice.
When going to the restroom… DO NOT LOOK INTO THE KITCHEN!!! I warned you if you do.

My first time here — I was placing an order to go. The guy that took my order was super nice — really was looking forward to a great experience. I asked for the Gyro” he said «chicken“I said «No, Beef» he said «no» I said «oh, you are out of beef how about lamb» he said «no», they were out of lamb? Then he suggested something he said «it is good» so I said «yes».
While waiting for my food I took a trip to the restroom — do not go there. it is discussing. After going to the restroom I started looking around. This place is due for a deep cleaning — NEEDS IT EVER SO BADLY.
Got back to work and took one bite and «YUCK» I don’t know exactly what meat it is but it is in the trash. Will not go back again.

This is a totally has been kind of place.
I feel bad for them. It was Ramadan Iftar and the food was not that good, the hummus is good, the yogurt is great.
The kafta was a nice fresh and good meal, all other meals served in the buffet were not good at all.
Bathrooms dirty, place is old and dark.
