One of my favorite places to go for taquitos, another gem in Pomona. Plus great mexican bread and Menudo, deliciosimo!

I called to order a cake. The man that answered put me on hold for 10 mins. No one answered the phone and I hung up. This was one of my favorite bakery but customer service really sucks!!!

Best bolillo bread I have ever had. Pandulce is also delicious with a cup of coffee. Note, be sure to bring cash unless you plan on spending more than 5 dollars. If you buy 5 or more dollars, you can use a debit/credit card

The bread is good and cheap and its near my work which is why i am giving them two stars instead of one. I’ve been coming here for years and the owner(i assume?) knows i dont speak spanish and he has spoken to me and made small talk on many occasions in english, and most of their younger employees speak english so today when i asked them if a customer returned my lost money i wouldve appreciated at least a yes or no answer instead of them acting like they have never seen me before or acting like they didnt understand anything i was saying. I just asked if someone returned $ 17 i dropped while i was in the store and they said that it was my problem not theirs! I didnt say it was their problem! I just needed to know yes or no!!! I felt as if they accused me of accusing them for stealing my money but i only wanted to know if it was returned! They were unbelievably rude about it and laughing because i was getting frustrated that they pretended to not remember me from 5 minutes before. I always love supporting small businesses since i work in one as well but I’ll just take my 50 cents somewhere else because it wont be missed here because they don’t care to help their customers.

Went today to get Mexican bread disappointed all they had was bread for Rosca De Reyes. Not everyone celebrates this tradition. The cinnamon coffee is good. I will just stick to Cardenas for pan dulce.

great food great prices delicious bread. On the restaurants side don’t expect great service they are very rushed and very slow to get your order out. Me and my boyfriend enjoyed food here the couple of times we have came but didn’t enjoy the service very much other than that great place

I walk into order a cake it was a going to be a for sure thing Because the last time we had a party was for my 15th birthday 5 years ago and we recieved nothing but good reviews. So I walk in and it’s his day off and I don’t have a day off until Saturday and I asked him what time does he come in from and I was told from 8 to 5& at that point I had spoken to the older man and he was very nice. So I come in Saturday morning and I tell the girl is the baker in? Because I wanted to order a cake and I was told I had to show him the picture see what he could do. This whole time she’s just staring at me and then she’s like can I see the picture. In my head I was thinking perfect she can do tell me the price and stuff and so she’s was like yeah you have to talk to him. So I wait outside 30 minutes for this man to come and I walk in and once again she doesn’t smile. So I just flat ask her is he in and she like hesitated to tell me and she was like yes can I take your phone to show him the picture. So I give her my phone and a minute later she goes no he can’t do it. And it was like you told him what I wanted I wanted a half sheet rectangle with little squares as sleeves. And I just want it red I don’t want anything special on it and she goes no he said he DOESNTWANTTO. He never came out to talk to me and see if we could work something out either way I was going to order a cake and she was just like sorry in her blank stare way and I walked out I was very upset. I went three times and for him to be like no I don’t want to that’s upsetting. Two stars for the man being nice and the cake being tasty

Fresh breads and sweets. The bakery is attached to El Merendero #2. AMAZING tres leche cake that you can buy by the slice. Always fun to go to for a sweet treat or a popsicle on a hot day. A downtown Pomona staple!

Good location, bread yummy not very friendly though I can tell this a minimum dollar an hour job or owner’s kids, you know how that goes. $.50 cents to utilize my ATM card. i my point of view $.50 cents is preventing the customer from having a completely positive experience, it’s like a mild-slap in your wallet. still a fan, lose the nickel and dime practice. Peace!

I’m happy going here it was recommended to me by a friend so I can buy my pan de muerto for día de los muertos and I went and saw them there. It was fresh and delicious. They were also friendly and had different sizes and it was affordable as well. I would go again to purchase more or any other type of pan dulce.

Came here for dinner with my mom who along with her coworkers, swear by this place. I had the cocido and mom had shrimp ranchero, both dishes were really good. Next door theres a bakery, I have breakfast for tomorrow. If you happen to find yourself near the Arts colony of Pomona, stop by El Merendro, you’ll thank me later ;)

I’ve had better but it’s convenient… The only time the bread tastes good is when it comes right out of the oven otherwise go elsewhere…

I have been coming to this location since I was a youngling and it is my favorite place to get fresh pan ducle(Mexican sweet bread). I still make this a mandatory stop whenever I come back to visit Pomona and my old stomping grounds. Conchas, empanadas & marranitos! They got it all baby! Come early in the morning, buy bread and coffee and support a local Pomona business!
