The bartender at this place — didn’t get her name — was kind of a b*tch. I took my cousin for her 21st and it was just past midnight and she wouldn’t server her. According to her, they can’t do that. Even though she was legally 21. I took her to several other places that had no problem with serving her and who wished her a happy birthday.

Cheap drinks hole in the wall. Not like it was when I was in my twenties but brings back good memories not sure the waitress was this old when I used to come but made me feel like my mom was giving me drinks.

Great locals dive bar. It was my daughter’s choice for her birthday lunch. She hadn’t been in a while and she was quickly greeted by Michelle and by Sheri when got in. Drinks are well priced and well poured. Food portions are large and good quality at cheap prices. Music was a little loud for conversation, but like they say, if it’s too loud, you’re too damn old.

This place looks filthy. I walked in and waited for someone to service me, but they just kept serving me drinks. Finally at the end of the night, these two fat chicks took me home and did my eyebrows! Don’t come here, go to the Vietnamese place down the street!

Pretty nice dive bar. Came out here to have a nice drink with the fellas. First pitcher was on the house!!! 7 dollars domestics and 12 dollars imports during NFL sundays. Can’t go wrong. The bartender was awesome and was very friendly

The Hi Brow Pomona went thru a month of renovation and has been updated. Still dark but not dingy. New granite bar, new bathroms, bar stools, lighting, fresh paint, décor ect. Same cheap drinks, same cool bartenders, cleaner and hipper. Still a dive bar but worth revisiting if too divey for you in the past.

Dark, dirty and dingy. A true dive bar. This place is right around the corner from my friend’s house and we’ve been going here for years. The good: Cheap drinks, cool bartenders(usually semi-attractive semi-older women), pool table, jukebox, dart board. Relaxed atmosphere. The bad: The smell! For years this place has had this nasty, sour, but just barely tolerable smell that you forget about once you’re a couple drinks in :). For obvious reasons this isn’t the place to come and meet single women. They don’t come here. This place is usually a spot for locals and regulars. They are friendly enough but won’t exactly make you feel at home. This is the type of place you come to drink and just hang loose. If your expectations are any higher than that you might be disappointed.

I love me a dirty dive bar… in fact the dirtier the better. Well this dive bar is dirty… dirty to the point where you have to beat back bar gnats and I’m not talking about questionable individuals. That being said it’s dark, in a seedy part of town, and did I mention dirty… I showed up with a fellow Unilocaler and I had a great time sucking down Hangar 24 brews… the prices were great but you gotta fight off those bar gnats…

Not bad for a dive bar. I think most of the people are regulars, I didn’t feel to welcome but id probably go back since its right down the street from my house. better to drink and walk then drink and drive.

I remember the first time I saw the centerfold of a Playboy magazine. I didn’t know what I was looking at, but I knew I liked it. That’s how I feel about the Hi-Brow. A dive bar requires dive people, and that’s what this place has in spades. It was one customer’s birthday and the bartender made him a blow job martini and put a book of matches in it for the candle. Look at the pictures here on Unilocal to see it for yourself. The patrons seem to all know each other. You may feel like an outsider, but not for long. They are friendly in a dive bar kinda way. A few patrons thought we were cops and we played along. The waitress and bartender come around to chit chat with you. Everyone was saying the drinks are strong, but I was drinking beer so I wouldn’t know. I was driving anyhow and couldn’t get wasted. You can smell the weed walking up to the door… that’s not my style, but people do.

Awful dive bar. Nice atmosphere, but the music is obnoxiously loud with the band playing. Beer selection is weak, only 1 good beer on tap — Stone IPA. Also I didn’t even get a glass of water, instead I got a small plastic cup with ice water… cool Crowd is older, 30−35+, 95% of the clientele drinks bud light out of a bottle… I’m 23 and and the only female I spoke with during my visit was dating a band member… cool. would not return.

If you like dive bars, I think you will like this place. My wife and I walk there once or twice a week. The kitchen is very basic but they often have specials like the excellent one dollar tacos on Tuesdays. I’m quiet, but I know most of the workers and I know a few of the regulars, so it’s friendly. The beer selection is above average for a dive bar. They have one average pool table. The jukebox is very good. There are several flat screens, so the game you want to watch is always on. There’s an IPA on tap and a few other decent beers besides the usual domestics. And if you’re with women, make sure they check out Pandora’s Box in the ladies room. Again, if you like dive bars, I highly recommend the Hi-Brow.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner… nahhhhh, not really. Taco Tuesdays and Friday night steak dinner — looking for a little hole in the wall to eat at, shoot some pool, wind down and hang with friends. Drinks are inexpensive too and the bartenders and servers are very pleasant. Great dive to play PhotoHunt too! No long review needed, the place is as big as a minute. I do advise against getting hammered and jay walking across the street to the bar on the other side. It didnt work out so well for the drunk lady last time I was there.:(

Easy going dive bar. That’s redundant. Anyways, the service was nice and my drinks were alcoholicky. At around $ 5 a drink. that was nice. Very nice. One bathroom and I didn’t see food in sight. This would be a good place to pass out.
