I love Juan pollo but this location is the worst. I came here one time and the had no rice. I went here on Wednesday at 8:45pm and they were already closed. The online time says 9pm but when I went the signs were on. Doors were locked and the employees were sitting in the lobby waiting for their rides.

I was craving Juan Pollo and I work in Claremont so I thought I would stop by as this is the closest location. I typically go to the location in Fontana and I have to say this one is nowhere near as nice. I walked in and it was just as hot indoors as the Pomona summer outside. One of the booths was literally missing it’s back, just the bench. I ordered the lunch special(2 pieces of meat with rice, potato salad, salsa and some tortillas). As I was waiting, I was solicited by a kid selling candy bars and an older women selling bootleg videos. Finally I go my food and drove it back to the office, the whole way anticipating the yummiest that I was about to enjoy. Boy, was I let down. I have never had such dry and over cooked chicken from Juan Pollo. No matter how much salsa I drenched it with I still felt like I was chocking it down. I hate to say this but apparently, not all Juan Pollo’s are created equally.

My coworker and i go here occasionally and is always the same. Customer service is just fine, but its also never busy here. We can always get quick service and a smile with our food. Maybe its because we’re Mexicans?! The major problem I have with this restaurant is the lack of cleanliness and sanitation in this establishment. This is clearly the worst run franchise I’ve ever seen. There cannot possibly be any sort of regional managers checking for consistency. Its dirty and smelly in here. Below the standards of even a low class town like Pomona. Missing signs, stains everywhere, horrible bathrooms, you name it.

Nothing fancy as far as décor and even the arcade games are out dated. But I can’t complain about the 1lb chicken burrito I always get. Lunch special is a good bargain too. Staff is kinda young and not really enthused about working here but as long as they get my order right I’ll be coming back.

This is a tough review for me because I remember having Juan Pollo nearly all my life. I grew up in Ontario and my mom would grab a few rotisserie chickens from the original Juan Pollo(now closed) on Euclid, not far from De Anza Park over 20 years ago. Fast forward to one week ago as I stepped into Juan Pollo #44 in Pomona, near the corner of E Arrow Hwy and Garey Ave. I want to be clear: this review is in reflection of the poor service at this location and at their leadership at corporate. One week ago, I walked into this Juan Pollo to order a Family Pak, which consists of two whole rotisserie chickens and three large side orders. Half way through my order, I was notified by a young lady from the kitchen that noted they were out of refried beans. She asked if I could wait 10 minutes. I was clear in telling her«No» and asked her what the alternatives are. She informed me that I could either have more rice or potato salad. This option did not suit me, so I countered with a fair proposition: offer me an item off the à la carte menu at a similar price of the large refried beans for the inconvenience. She replied back with asking me again if I can wait 10 minutes. I once again told her no. Her reply(verbatim): «Well, I guess you’re not having the Family Pak then.» I walked out after hearing this snarky remark. That same evening, I went online to Juan Pollo’s corporate website and completed a message regarding the incident above. I have not heard a word from them despite my grievance and clear dissatisfaction with my most recent visit. I ask you, the reader, a simple question: when is it appropriate to offer a customer an ultimatum? It’s sad to say, but this is not my first poor experience at this Juan Pollo restaurant. I have witnessed this specific location run out of beans, salsa, even chicken. This is a chain of rotisserie chicken restaurants; please help me understand how you can run out of either of these items, especially chicken? I will not be dinning at this particular location again and await a formal response from corporate.

The service here is ok. Arrived there before it got busy. I just wish the place was given some TLC(tender living care) on the inside. Inside looks a little old and run down. I think if it had that TLC it would get some more business. More business equals more sales for them. Regardless, I do come by from time to time and when I do I always get some potato salad :)

OMG where have I been all of my life!!! Seriously Juan Pollo is to die for! my mouth waters when i think of their chicken! LOVE: *the rice *the chicken *the salsa! its almost like el pollo loco but BETTER! the skin is flavorful! dark meat is soft and juicy. the rice has green onions and shredded chicken in it. i’ve never been a fan of mexican rice but let me tell you this, it’s just out of this world! it is a little on the oily side but DANG the thing is BOMB! i can probably eat this thing all of the freaking time! they have two different salsa. a mild and hot. i usually get both and mix it. the chicken tastes better if you eat the salsa as well. not much for customer service. its like any other fast food places. food comes out pretty fast. decently priced food. make sure you clean after yourself. Tips: *private lot shared with other business. *male/female restroom is separated. *debit card accepted with a small fee. cash is a must here. *they usually have coupons you can download offline. *family deals are usually tuesdays and wednesdays. *they have a few locations in pomona and one in la puente. *fountain drinks. *you can choose between dark meat or white meat. i would highly recommend coming here!

The chicken tacos always satisfy me, it’s what I always get but for the love of PETE, can one person greet us with a hello or a smile?! Even though I give it, I don’t get it back. And they don’t care. It’s like they’re just there to collect a paycheck. Always, always always, poor customer service. I get better customer service at Taco Bell. :/

I love Juan Pollo mainly for their famous potato salad! But I also love the flavor of their chicken skin: P They’re very cheap and give you a lot of food. My favorite thing to get is the ¼ chicken dinner. It comes with rice, beans, tortillas and chile. I also get potato salad extra. I think it’s about $ 3.99 for all that!

I have to admit, the chicken is pretty good here. We ordered the mini pack for myself, husband, and son. We were a little reluctant at first because the whole restaurant smelled like a port-a-potty. It’s difficult to enjoy a meal when it smells like doo-doo. That’s why I didn’t give that many stars. Maybe we’ll try a different location in the future.

Started going here after Taco Nazo and Red Hill Pizza closed before shows at the Glasshouse. Inexpensive and quite good; this place has pretty cool murals. The bathroom even has a timer to save electricity. I love the pollo rice and always take some to go.

I always get the two chicken crunchy taco deal that’s really cheap. I get it to go in a little plastic bag and a ways I go! I really love their salsa. It’s really freshly hand chopped, spicey, and has carrot in it which gives it a nice crunch. Yumo

We ordered in lunch from here at work. It was the boss’ birthday and he was craving some bbq chicken from Juan Pollo. I’d never had it before, but had heard a lot of good things about it. When the food arrived you could smell the rotisserie chicken wafting through the workroom on its way to the staff lounge. It smelled oh so yummy. The meat was very juicy and fell right off the bone. The pinto beans and potato salad were very flavorful and complimented the chicken nicely. I’ll have to remember to try this place again in the future.

Are you kidding me? This chicken has flava yo! well, more like the skin has flava… and the meat is reaaally dry… yo But damn is it ever tasty seasoned skin! Cooked rotisserie style, this place outdoes El Pollo Loco by a long shot for me. I’ve only ever ordered 2 whole chickens that come with salsa and corn tortillas. Pinch off some meat, make sure to get some skin for flavor in there, place it inside the tortilla, add salsa, sour cream, a pinch of salt — and you have yourself one taaasty taco! But you really need to add something to make up for the dryness. The chicken wing is a real treat! Claim those before anyone else does. They’re crispy and packed with flavor. It’s like all the goodness just decides to chill on the wing. You’ll have to wait a couple minutes for your order even when there’s nobody there. I guess you can play Gauntlet while you wait…
