Google maps said this place was opened until 12 am. I show up at 11:10 and the doors were locked. Just came from a concert at Pampano and I was not the only group looking for a bite to eat. The staff inside just ignored the people outside, obviously since they closed earlier than published and knew it was not right. Luckily Dandee Donut Factory next door stayed opened as stated. ***as I post this Unilocal still says this place is open for 21 minutes(11:40pm)

Came here to try something new since I just moved in the area. I had the burger platter which came with lettuce tomatoes and a pickle. I added onions. Nothing like raw onions on a burger yum. Food came out pretty fast. Burger had no flavor at all. Tasted like frozen burger patty. I was very disappointed being the prices are pretty high and the portions are small. They skimp you on the fries but k, aye I don’t need that many lol. I may come back again but definely try something else perhaps the breakfasts foo. This places is so busy I came during lunch around 2:15. Service was good. I had Kelly she was nice. Very attentive. I hate I didn’t order dessert. but sure will next time because they have a displays of dessert near the counter cashier. And it all looks so tasty amazing.

Went with the whole family and we were all so excited to try the new Lester’s Diner. Well, it didn’t disappoint. We ordered almost everything on their breakfast menu: eggs(sunny, over-easy, poached, hard-boiled), bacon, sausage, french toast, pancakes, grits, etc. It was all just as we’d wanted it to be, with free coffee refills, too. Even though our waitress screwed up almost every order, she was a hysterical good time, and we’re definitely coming back.

The coffee was a good sign. Fresh and bold. Good solid breakfast with a friendly wait staff. I had the corned beef hash and poached eggs. The hash had a solid crust and was very tender inside. The eggs were a bit over cooked for my taste but still had a bit of runny yellow in the middle. My husband had the pork links that were the stars of the show. They were delicious. He also had the home fries which I have to agree with the other reviewers were average All in all a good solid breakfast at a reasonable price.

The only reason this is getting 2 stars is because the food was okay, not great but okay. My husband growing up in Margate, and me in Davie, you could imagine we have had our fair share of Lester’s Diner and we have always been happy with the end result. We live out east by the beach and have been meaning to try this Lester’s Diner since it had opened, never again! First we get seated, very quickly actually(which was nice) since it was so busy, for us to get our drinks and be asked to move to the next table over«because there was a large party that just arrived and they needed to put the two tables together» ok, no problem we let that go, no biggie. We then placed our orders, and needed the bill to be split between three people, we were told that on the weekends they are not aloud to split the check more then two ways, a little weird but ok. We placed our order with the waitress who seemed like it was just not her day, very moody and seemed to be a little snappy and annoyed. Food came fairly fast, my Husband and brother-in-law ordered the eggs Benedict, they said it was good but the eggs were definitely not poached. I ordered the western omelette that was also ok, very dry and nothing like the one that I have had previously at the Margate and Davie locations. Our friend that was with us order the Lester’s 2−2−2, which he says was really good. our waitress dropped off the first two meals and then another food runner dropped off the other two meals, as she was putting down my English muffin she slide the plate down, which made my English muffin fall off the plate. Then has the nerve to tell my brother-in-law to «grab that and put it back on the plate» then slams it down in front of me. Not to mention we didn’t see our waitress again until we were all almost completely finished with our breakfast. Needless to say it was a horrible customer service experience, that will stop us from ever going back. It is worth the drive to Margate or Davie for better customer service.

Cute diner, love the décor. Menu and food was definitely diner style with good food. Banana cream pie was happily packaged to go because they have an awesome dessert counter. Great place to grab a bite.

Always have had a great experience at the Lester’s located on St. Rd. 84 and this one did not disappoint either. Of course the décor is different(more modern) here but the service and food was excellent as we hoped for. We ordered what we normally do at the other location just to do a side-by-side comparison: ½ Pastrami ½ Reuben melt on toasted rye. And the Greek specialty of Baked Moussaka. Both dishes came out within minutes piping hot and as large«diner» sized portions(YEABABY). Our waitress was very attentive and made sure our waters were full at all times. The food was spot-on and just like we love… Perfectly toasted rye with huge, meaty portions of pastrami… she even gave me a side of special sauce aka thousand island to dip into after each decadent bite. The moussaka was seasoned very well with notes of cinnamon and clove that melded the eggplant and ground beef together in perfect harmony. Topped with a bechamel and served with seasoned dill rice, this was truly comfort food heaven. Definitely not a healthy choice but sometimes you just need to live a little and Lester’s is the perfect place to do that. Also I have to point out the DESSERTS here. Seriously amazing selection of homemade cakes, pies, custards and napoleons. They make everything in-house on the daily and even do custom orders. I’ve considered stopping here to pick up a cake for my birthday come December(hint hint to my husband) :)

While on vacation visiting family in South Florida in early September, 2015, I took my wife to Lester’s Diner in Pompano Beach. I had been a somewhat regular patron of Lester’s when I lived in the area in the late 1980s/early 1990s. Since that time, Lester’s has upgraded and enlarged quite a bit. However, what wasn’t sacrificed was the terrific food and great customer service! My wife and I both had a full breakfast with all the fixings and we were both pleasantly surprised. I had some trepidation after finding out that Lester’s had expanded, but my fears completely faded after our dining experience. I would definitely recommend Lester’s to anyone looking to have a great breakfast to start their day!

Wonderful food. Great taste and value. Could have been a 5 star rating but our server was cranky…

Very nice crisp and clean new 4th location. Fast and friendly service. Not on menu, but always available Philly Cheesesteak is a hefty portion, used knife anf fork to eat it. Actual strips of steak instead of chipped steak, were a little dry. Thick cut fries have soft inside and very crispy light batter coating.

No wait and food served fast. Menu sure to appeal to just about every appetite. Wait staff was extremely helpful and eager to serve. Great atmosphere, with a true diner feel. Family of three. I had the ribs and chicken, wife had the ruben and son had meatloaf. We all enjoyed our meal. And, my wallet didn’t cry. Worth the visit.

Nice, down home diner with great atmosphere and wait staff. Leslie is awesome I had a pastrami and cheese omelet. Quite tasty. And lots of meat. Didn’t love the potatoes. Coffee was good and so was the pancake the kids got.

I know, Lester’s Diner is like a south Florida staple, but I had never been to one before! After a long morning diving(and subsequently graduating with Nitrox and Advanced Open Water certs) we felt the best way to celebrate was with a warm meal! My dive buddy suggested Lester’s which wasn’t too far away. We arrived at 1:30ish, and parking was a bit of a nightmare. Luckily some patrons were on their way out and I grabbed their spot, but others were parked all over the grass in any spot they could find! Inside was pretty busy, but not quite as bad as I had envisioned after seeing the parking, and we easily grabbed two seats at the counter. So, I know I came for a hot meal, but in the end I wasn’t all that hungry(I had quite a few Doritos beforehand lol) and ended up getting a Greek salad. Pretty tasty, but the size was a little small when considering the price tag(hence my 3 star review). My friend ordered the burger which he hastily finished off, so I guess he was pleased lol. We paid up at the register right next to the delicious desserts. I held off, but honestly that display was calling my name! All in all, this was one of the nicer diners I’ve been to in terms of lay-out, ambiance, cleanliness etc. Chris behind the counter did a great job of seeing to our needs.

I had the Ham Steak with Scrambled eggs home fries and toasted Rye toast. Overall the food was good. The potatoes were average and looked to be frozen potatoes you can buy from the grocery store. Ham steak was very tender and tasted fine. The place was clean and the service was good. Overall it was good but there are much better places in the area for similar prices.

Being a fan of the Lester’s on SR84 I was very excited that one has opened in Pompano. The Diner is nicely decorated with indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside and were promptly greeted by our server, she was very pleasant and very quick. The menu is large, offering breakfast all day, as well as lunch and dinner options and a large variety of cakes, ice cream, shakes and desserts. I ordered 2 eggs over easy with ham and cheese grits — everything came out super fast and perfectly cooked. I am really picky about my grits and Lester’s didn’t disappoint, I also enjoyed my ice tea which comes served is a huge glass so you don’t have to wait for refills. Our server checked on us several times and took great care of us. Next time I have to try one of the many delicious cakes they have.

Service has been great both times we were here, but food was just ok-not bad, not great. I ordered the steak medium rare and eggs over medium with home fries and a side of pancakes to share. Steak was overcooked both times. Coffee was good though and so were the pancakes. My husband really enjoyed his omelet. I’m sure we will be back because it’s a convenient location for us and my husband loves breakfast for any meal of the day. Hopefully, I’ll change my rating after trying a few more things, especially the desserts which look good! (Just to note: My husband says he would have given it four stars, but I’m sticking to three for now.)

This would appear to be a duplicate entry of this site: which I have reported as being but since at the time of my writing each has one review but by different Unilocalers, I’ll let Unilocal decide which is which or to somehow merge them together. Welcome to Pompano Lester’s Diner. I’m really so glad to see you here, especially since you moved into and completely remodeled that won’t be missed crap hole of a place, Cosmos. Anyway, this is now Lester’s fourth location and though I’ve only been their location on 84, I have been going to that one for years, even with the four in the morning crowd when the Copa let out. One of best thing about Lester’s on 84 has been their friendly jovial service which I am happy to say has carried over and is very evident with this location. Then, as for food, some of the best you’ll ever find in any diner with full portions, lots of things included with dinner meals, and reasonable rates. My long time favorites with Lester’s has either been their lamb shank or their stuff cabbage. On this occasion I went for their stuffed cabbage which came with a choice of salad, I chose the Caesar, two sides, and a dessert. The romaine of the Caesar turned out to be crispy, fresh with a good enhancing cheese and croutons, actually all the equal in taste as found in some of what our considered to be the better restaurants of the area. After finishing my salad I was served my stuffed cabbage, be two generous good sized cabbage roll with a tomato based sauce which I found to be hearty as well as delicious in taste. And though I am sure it is of the same exact recipe as used at their State Road 84 location, I would actually swear them as being superior to what I have had there. Could it be possible that for their opening that brought in their best cook? Possibly so, I don’t know, but I have any other idea of why or how to explain it. Being new, everything in Lester’s is spotlessly clean with the new diner décor being just about as good as any décor in diner that I’ve ever seen. Certainly nothing fancy, but what I would consider to be diner perfect. Another good thing is that this location has a patio or what is more like a Florida room dining area, so that if you want to, you can enjoy being outdoors.

Lester’s Diner is an institution in South Florida. The original on State Road 84 has been my post-flight mainstay for years, no matter what time of day(or night) I fly back in to Fort Lauderdale. It took a LONG time for them to renovate Cosmo’s Diner on Atlantic to reincarnate it as Lester’s, but the wait was worthwhile. It was a rare opportunity for my dad and I to be able to get lunch together in the middle of the work day, so we decided to stop by. We had that idea, along with everyone else in Pompano, because the parking lot was packed. A note on the door reminded patrons that they were still in a «soft opening» phase, and asked for patience. Thankfully we didn’t have to wait for a table, as we secured the last available one. The inside of this place is bright and clean, with a simple red, white and chrome color scheme. It looks worlds different from Cosmo’s. The even made an outdoor(covered) patio on the east side of the building. No wonder it took forever to open this place. Given how busy this was even during their soft opening, I have no doubt Lester’s will do very well here. Just goes to show that Pompano/LHP has a serious lack of restaurant options. Glad we now have another place in this neck of the woods! Now here’s the thing about me and diners… I always order breakfast. It doesn’t matter what time it is, but there’s something about diners that just sends breakfast signals to my brain. Lester’s has a huge, jam-packed menu… yet I always turn over to the last page and look for those glorious words that say, «Breakfast served anytime.» So while my dad ordered the breaded cod filet sandwich, I ordered two scrambled eggs with extra crispy bacon and well-done home fries. We both really enjoyed our meals! My scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly… not super greasy like some diners are wont to do, and my bacon was crispy as requested. The home fries were okay, but were definitely outshined by the eggs and bacon. Meanwhile, the real star of the show was my dad’s cod filet. The breading was delicious and crispy, but also not at all oily, while the fish itself was nice and flaky. We asked for some lemon wedges, and got far too few(my dad has not perfected the ask like I have, since when I do eat fish, I need to drown it in lemon), but even so, it was quite tasty. I feel like it’s hard to impress my dad, but he really liked his meal and cleaned his plate. We both left here impressed, and happy to have a new dining option in the area. Lester’s will certainly be a welcome addition to Atlantic Boulevard.

Place just opened and for a newly built place I was pretty dissatisfied with the layout. You don’t know if you’re in line to look at the cakes pay your check or enter the restaurant lots of confusion as I entered and when I left/paying the check. Overall it’s your standard diner with yummy looking desserts and breakfast all day. I had a turkey club and an ice coffee. I enjoyed the ice coffee thought the turkey club was just okay. Was lacking much flavor and they forgot the pickle and coleslaw was warm. I’ll give the place a little bit of slack considering it just opened and might be having some of those newly opened growing pains. Will report back on another visit possibly for breakfast.
