Chorizo omelette with special sauce is to die for… seriously. Just so good! Tiny little diner in a strip mall, but don’t judge this book by the cover; this shack has a lot of flavor.

I went there on mother’s day. The service is always bad at this place. I’m just disappointed that the food is getting bad also. Coffee hasn’t improve. I had better experience in the past. I’m not sure if I want to bring my family there anymore.

Baaaaaaad coffee and can’t get the attention of the waitress. The coffee was sooooooo bad, it tasted as if it were made from dishwater… the orange juice was good, one of my «over medium» eggs was broken. I know, not a big deal on its own. However, they have my favorite Sourdough toast!!! That is what brought it up from one start to two stars. Tiny place with some tables for 2 and 3 tables which are«reserved for parties of 3 or 4.» And if you smoke there are three tables outside for you and your doggies. So… it was worth going to once, so that my curiosity has been satisfied. I never have to go back again.

we were looking for a nice little place to grab a bite while in the ft. lauderdale area on vacation and stumbled onto this place. what a find! excellent food, excellent service! super friendly wait staff who make you feel like you are their only customer. the parisian omelette was awesome! and the grits were to die for! everything came fast. no wait time. ingredients were fresh, not canned. the owner, Dorit, came over and introduced herself. the friendliest woman EVER! made sure that all was right with our party of 8 which they accommodated quickly and easily, even without reservations, and despite this place’s cozy size. bathrooms very clean. do not hesitate to come here. good people, good food, good service. wish i could take the whole place back to NY with me. Thank you Dorit and staff!

Michael’s café 1 is: «the ONEANDONLY» for me. No comparable in the neighborhood. It is my first stop for breakfast or lunch every time when I visit Florida. This little place have so much to offer. They always have amazing specials, large portions. This time, I ordered a turkey sandwich which brought me back to my mom’s holiday cooking. The most decadent succulent moist and tender. Absolutely delicious. served with pickles and fries just the way I love it. They always have amazing specials, large portions, fast service, very friendly staff, the place is always clean and cozy. Feels like home.

$ 15.00 for breakfast crêpe? Man that is a big difference in the price, and i took crêpe with mushroom, tomato, cheese and ham. Burned home fries as well. Walmart bag for to go and no plastic forks or anything… No service as well For this place, it is expansive, not coming back.

We’ve been living abroad for two years and have returned to South Florida. It didn’t take us more than two seconds to make a beeline to Michael’s for our first breakfast back! Driving up and entering, it was like déjà vu, as everything(at the outset) looked exactly as if we were just there last weekend. Alas, though, something had changed: We noted only one waitress from«the old days,» and(most glaringly) long-time chef Sylvian — I could be wrong on the spelling — had been replaced by a younger«kid.» We ordered, ate our meal, and left satisfied(as it was wholly decent), but a bit disheartened by the lack of what used to be great flavors. Well, we gave it another shot this weekend, and(very disappointingly) our meals were sufficiently ordinary — something we could’ve gotten at, for example, the Egg & You. We decided to ask the one remaining waitress from the old days what became of Sylvian. Aha! Now we know!!! Sylvian wasn’t simply the chef there, but he was the owner, as well, and had sold the joint in 2015, and was now working at his second restaurant a bit further north. Apparently, the new chef just hasn’t been able to match the foodie heights of Sylvian; and, too, what normally would’ve been a packed joint on a Saturday morning was — I suppose unsurprisingly — quite sparse, with a number of tables open. I ordered a simple bagel with cream cheese and lox, and it was only mediocre: The sesame bagel — everything bagels weren’t on the menu today — was«old» in texture; the red onions were unappealingly thick-cut; tomatoes were also thick-cut; lox were virtually flavorless — which would be great, if you don’t like the taste of smoked lox — and also thickly sliced. On the positive: Plenty of fresh cream cheese for one bagel; capers were the nice large ones, too — not as briny as I would’ve liked, but still very good and«meaty.» [Alas, nothing can match the stratospheric heights(from what I remember) of the bagel and lox plate at Nepenthe in Big Sur! My litmus test for all other bagel/lox dishes.] My cohort’s eggs Benedict were(paraphrasing), «dull and lacked Sylvian’s touch.» Sadly, after 25 visits(and even holding the title of «Duke»), I shan’t be doing anymore check-ins at [the new] Michael’s Café. I suppose the old adage of all good things coming to an end has, indeed, come to an end…

Excellent food and great prices! Just needs chairs outside that don’t wobble and the service is a little slow.

Well, we went here for breakfast and were both pretty disappointed with our food. I ordered two waffles. One was cold and soggy and the other was hard and luke warm. They tasted like sugar bread; I barely ate any of it. My girlfriend got eggs, home fries and a bagel. The bagel was ok, the eggs were greasy and the home fries were bland. The staff was very nice, but the place was also very busy and seemed under staffed. It took a good ten mins for us to get ketchup after receiving our food. The table we were sat at was also ridiculously small and full of condiments. It’s doubtful we will be going back.

Close to had I had this place book marked to take my dad here for a nice breakfast. The pictures on Unilocal looked delish! Thanks Unilocalies ! We arrived and from outside it looks very upscale. When you walk in the 1990s diner just hits you . Inside is so small I was quite shocked ! … Tiny tables squeezed together. The wait for coffee was about 15 minutes. Which isn’t the best when you jus need a cup of joe. we placed our orders finally and I specifically said hash Browns ! Shredded -/-/– she said ok was very polite and we waited . First they brought out the my French toast which were amazing !! I ate all of them. In addition I ordered 2 eggs over medium. They brought one egg. Which I giggled over… I reminded her I wanted two to have with my hash browns. After 10 minutes by second egg arrived(I assumed freshly hatched :))) another 5 mins later, she brought out«home fries. «which are cubed potatoes. I explained that I actually wanted hashed not home. She then began to tell me «no you never said that» I told her yes I did… Another 10 the correct potatoes arrived. All the confusion and silly stuff aside they were so good !! In conclusion the food 5 stars, service 3 ;(. But I think they jus need more staff … I’ll def be back.

Four stars??? I would have preferred McDonald’s or Denny’s over the breakfast me and my husband just ordered. This was average at best. The hash browns were very disappointing. The breakfast sandwich was meh. My chocolate chip pancakes were good but I feel it’s hard to screw those up. the 4 star rating may have set the bar too high so lower expectations before going here. 4 stars suggests above average and it was anything but.

Breakfast is really good. No complaints on the food however both times I have been here I have had to wait over 30 mins for the food. It is ridiculous! If u are in a rush, do not plan on getting in and out of this place quickly. Never waited so long for breakfast… ever!

I’ve been coming here for several years now. Most of the time I go on my own just before I start errands or work and they have a counter to accommodate single diners. The food is consistently good. The staff is consistently friendly and it’s as reliable and quality as a neighborhood breakfast should be. Their weekend specials are amazing — once or twice a month they make these lemon ricotta pancakes which they prepare the night before. It’s worth paying a visit just for these pancakes. I shouldn’t even tell people about them because they’ve run out before and it’s literally ruined my day a few times when I’ve just missed the last order. Anyway — stick this place in the rotation if you’re looking for your favorites and for something a little different.

This place is great! The staff is outstandingly pleasant and the food is even better! I had the filet mignon Benedict deluxe and it was out of this world, and it was only $ 9.99! I will definitely be back to this place, probably more than once!

I live around the corner from Michael’s and decided to give a try for breakfast. The staff was pleasant. Each team member smiled and was polite. The food however was a disgrace. The French toast I ordered was black and burnt. It was also tasteless and dry. The salmon spread was flavorless and tasted old. There was also small fruit flies buzzing around. Not even with the complimentary mimosa was worth it. I do not recommend.

Great spot for breakfast/brunch or lunch that I have been coming to for years and always leave happy ;) The quality of the food and the friendless of the staff top notch and they always change the offerings up with lots of unique specials. Seating is a little cramped and limited at times, but the pay off is great food.

So as many of you know already, I am a big breakfast/brunch fan. I had heard through Unilocal that Michael’s Café had some serious game in that area, so I thought I would drop in and see what their all about. I actually expected them to be busier when I showed up around half past noon on a sunday, and while they had plenty of customers, I grabbed a spot at the bar since I was solo. The first thing I noticed was an immense Special Board with a ton of seemingly decadent specials, many involving pork. I also noticed that if you order from the special board, you will be treated with a free mimosa. This place has a lot of personality. I mean a lot. This place no doubt has the kind of vibe that either makes one want to be a regular or makes one doubtful about returning. I ordered the standard 2 egg & bacon deal and got the blueberry waffle on the side. All in all not a bad meal, good decent diner food and a straight 3 stars. One thing that I found particularly offputting was a manager berating on of the staff for a mistake she made on an order. It is not correct for the customers to hear that. We know that mistakes happen and that employees must be corrected when mistakes are made but humiliating them in front of the whole restaurant comes off as classless and lacking in managerial protocol.

Tucked away in a very quiet little shopping center is this tiny little treasure. There are two tables outside and very limited space inside. The waitress was very friendly and telling us to sit where we want. We opted for the last outside table and boy was it hot. Make sure there’s a nice breeze when you decide to dine outside or your in for a scorcher. The inside was really chilly and refreshing though. I ordered my own custom little egg white &2 biscuit sandwich with hash browns and my hubby got the 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, and 2 bacon strips platter. Everything came out extremely fast, the biscuits were perfectly toasted with lots of butter, and the egg whites looked a bit too buttery/oily. They tasted okay. I topped my little biscuit with egg white and hash browns and it was so good. The hash browns were on the undercooked side. Usually you like them more towards the brown in golden brown. My husband enjoyed everything as well. I sampled the pancake and it was just okay. Not extraordinary. Their prices are reasonable, everyone was always checking up on us and I know I’ll be coming back for some biscuits.
