Two stars because our waitress was nice but I ordered the biscuits and gravy, biscuits were burnt and you can taste the burnt, the gravy was too watery and you can see the oil in the grave all too well. Bland tasting and the coffee is just too expensive. Sorry Diner By The Sea, I really wanted to love you!

Very friendly staff very clean place just much much too expensive and way too noisy and small. The food taste good it’s just way too expensive. Who the hell wants to spend $ 10 for a simple egg and cheese omelette with some home fries. That’s crazy.

This is the quintessential dive. It’s décor is tacky, the servers are right out of a movie restaurant. Just quaint. The food, the real reason you go to a place like is is just what you want. Cooked in front of you, made to order and really tasty.

Awesome spot! Very small diner-great prices and great food. The pancakes are a combo of crepes and pancakes. Our food was ready within 10 minutes. Parking can be difficult, but there is a pay lot nearby. Cash only-hit the atm before you go.

Came in for breakfast this morning and the best chocolate chip pancakes I have ever had! Friendly service and fast too.

The food wasn’t bad, with it being one of the only places open for breakfast by the beach. The pancakes were the best thing, everything else was okay. The food was ready fairly fast but our waitress was very forgetful and didn’t even come back after she gave us our food with the check when we needed refills. It wasn’t too bad a bit pricey for small portions though.

I came with a Groupon for 2 entrée’s and 2 drinks. The groupon value was 23 and change. 3 of us shared a 3 egg omelette with bacon, mushrooms and cheese and an order of blueberry pancakes with bacon. Everything was cooked perfectly and really tasty. I ordered grits too and was served a huge bowl for 1.99. We had to pay an additional 5.00, but it was so worth it. Cute place with great food and great service.

Amazing breakfast!!! Stopped here today to grab a quick bite and got a huge surprise. From the outside the restaurant doesn’t look like much but the food was fantastic! Great staff, very friendly and attentive. One waitress even gave us complimentary mimosas! I wish I lived closer so I can eat there more often. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves a good home cooked meal. Only downside is they only accept cash but there is an ATM across the street. Other than that, this place is wonderful! Can’t wait to go back.

I used to live in this neighborhood for around three years, including during Hurricane Wilma. Scary! This little place, Diner By The Sea, always seems to satisfy me. I haven’t lived here in the neighborhood for eight years or so, but always enjoy returning for the pancakes. Yeah, about those pancakes. They come out very quickly. No messing around. They taste like my mom’s. My mom used cooking oil to make the pancakes crispy on the outside edges and fluffy in the middle. And she made them incredibly large and with her own pancake batter. Not Uncle Buck large, but large enough to feed my six siblings and me. The pancakes here are similar to those. And, if a restaurant can evoke childhood memories, then it’s doing its job as I am concerned. You can see a lot of regulars in here. The staff is very friendly with this group of mostly older, retired folks. Because it’s off the beach by a couple of blocks, you don’t see the tourists as much, who likely dine at the breakfast spots east of A1A and Commercial. But, that’s okay. It means that this place has an established clientele.

This place has great food for a great price! I ordered the 2−2−2 platter for breakfast and my boyfriend got the turkey salad sandwich. Not only was this place great quality food for the price, but the location is ideal as well! We would definitely recommend coming to this place if you are looking for breakfast or brunch!

I went yesterday because we had a groupon for breakfast or lunch for a fixed price. Would have been a good deal but… When the breakfast arrived, 2 small eggs and 9 potatoes, I thought the portions were small. Then the lunch arrived, and I noticed the bun was also small, though the Mahi was normal size, and the fries were sufficient. You can see the cook working on the grill, and I watched to see how he plated other breakfasts. All portions were small but what was the absolute end…, on the counter was a box of gloves. The cook was not wearing any. The helper, was wearing gloves, and the waitress applied them when making toast I watched the cook touch each serving without gloves. He touched the eggs, as he plated them, he touched bacon as he put them on a plate, he touched each burger as he flipped and put it on a bun. Never once did he was his hands, he then touched the utensils, his pants, his nose, the food he was plating, pots and pans, and more food The sad thing is had the portions been average, I would never have begun watching him, and probably gone back! But now, I not only will never return, but will tell everyone to stay away. Surprised the health inspectors haven’t noticed…

This place is super cute and is a step back in time. The pancakes and bacon were amazing! Highly recommend the pancakes. They were light and delicious! On the other hand, our waitress was extremely forgetful. My friends and I asked for straws 3 times before she remembered to give us some out of her smock. I asked for coffee when we ordered drinks and she forgot about the coffee until we already had our food. I need crème in my coffee so I asked for some and she didn’t bring any until I was done eating my food. One of my friends ordered a bagel with her meal and never received it. We brought it up once and she never brought it. This place has a great homey vibe with good food, but I hate keep having to ask for things over and over again.

Great Food! I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the South Florida area! Small establishment, but an authentic diner experience. The servers were very nice even at their busiest and thanked us for our patience everytime she passed by. Overall great experience! Oh and the hollandaise sauce on my eggs Benedict was AMAZING!

Visited Diner by the Sea this morning, what an amazing experience. The décor was very inviting, service was great, Mimosa was yummy and the food… OMG the best. I had french toast, blueberry pancakes, eggs and hash browns… I totally over ate… but well worth it. Billy is awesome, he definitely knows what he’s doing… in a calm manner. Thanks for a great breakfast, I will be back very soon.

I am visiting from out of town but found a Groupon so we figured why not try it. The breakfast was really good and the staff was very friendly. The German potato pancakes were really good. My boyfriend got one of the breakfasts with eggs, toast, sausage and home fries and he loved it too.

Super cute little diner not far from the beach. Staff was extra nice. Portions were huge and very tasty. I had breakfast for the next morning and it was still delicious! I had a make-your-own omelette and he had the eggs Benedict. Both were awesome. The omelette was so thin, fluffy and cooked to perfection with my probably too many ingredients inside. Their home fries were fantastic as well. I love diners with the counter service and short order cook that you can watch. No-fuss, nothing fancy, super quick and friendly. It was exactly the experience I was looking for! We even got to hear a great story about how two of the waitresses swapped with two Swiss waitresses for a show called«Job Swap» in Switzerland.

This place is a gem! I had the tuna wrap with fries. This was the best tuna I’ve ever had and that seems kinda crazy but it’s true. It was packed of flavor and tasted super fresh. The booths were not meant for large people but that’s my only complaint… oh and cash only!

Food was very delicious– we had the corned beef hash and Greek omelette. CBH was crispy and tasty, not over cooked. The omelette was very well cooked. The service was excellent. A group of older ladies having a good time at work! We would come here more often for brunch/lunch.

I SO enjoy hole-in-the-wall diners and this one is a classic with its narrow space decorated in southern Florida brilliant colors. There’s a mix of 1950s chrome and yellow stools and modern granite countertops giving the place a welcoming comfortable feel. All the waitstaff are«moms» making you feel like a nostalgic kid at the breakfast table. The meals are ample with a very reasonable price. The blue berry pancakes are the bomb; almost crêpe like, extremely moist and so sweet no syrup needed. However, like most restaurants trying to keep the profit margin sustainable, ingredients are obviously the least — please note the honey jar photo that’s really high fructose corn syrup — and honey. Ewwwww!
