This is your typical diner. Quick, friendly, and fair prices. If that’s what you’re looking for, this is your place.

We came for brunch this morning and walked away underwhelmed. Everything is just ok… Food is not bad, but nothing special, service was okay, there are quite a few uncharges(but still reasonably priced). Overall, nothing was bad here, but we will probably not come back.

Dont order the french toast stuffed with peaches. The french toast is not stuffed its just covered with cold bitter peaches that made the french toast cold when i got. Peaches had no sweetness to it. French toast was below average. Advised waitress & she asked if i wanted to take with me to warm up. No

When I entered the diner it was pretty busy, which is understandable now that I have experienced breakfast at Duffy’s. The food was excellent, the place is clean, and the staff was very friendly. My waitress Heather was excellent and very attentive. I will definitely be coming back to Duffy’s.

Hidden little gem. From the moment I walked in I knew I was going to have a great experience. I was greated by the owners and a waitress with a big smile welcoming me. Restaurant is very clean, and the service and food were excellent! The menue has a great selection from breakfast to lunch. Couldn’t of asked for a better experience. I definitely will be going back.

Thanks Julie! You and the staff were very friendly and service was perfect. Food was exactly what you expect. Clean fresh made to order eggs, perfectly cooked. If you want hot coffee, simple breakfast, fair prices, friendly service then this is your place. Headed back to Ocala. By Ft Lauderdale see you soon I hope. The W on Ft Lauderdale beach is a must stay. Pool atmosphere and talent level is high

Officially done. I came once again Cuz my husband loved this place. But we were waiting for our food when we noticed the waitress fixing her hair. She then sneezed into her hands and went back out of view. I assumed she went to go wash her hands but withing maybe 5 – 7 seconds she came back out Holding our plates. I work in the food industry and that is not sanitary at all. We just got up and left and have decided to write off this place. Not what it use tu be. Wouldn’t go back ever and highly don’t recommend booking one else does for your own health.

Went there 3 times this week. Had the pastrami sandwich(great) chili cheese fries(good) but a little weird cause it had chunks of bell pepper. Patty melt(not good) over cooked and flavorless. Bread was burnt. Onion rings(not good) they buy the cheap frozen ones with barley any onion inside and the portion was way to large. Tasted my friends biscuits and gravy(not bad) very large portion. Friend had the egg salad sandwich and loved it. It just had way to much bread.

I’ve been to this place a couple of times now for lunch as it’s conveniently close to my office. I tried the Chili and it was quite good. Our waitress was very nice as well and the service was good. I will definitely be going again for lunch some time, but I would really like to try their breakfast.

Mehhhhh, it was just ok. We visited on Sunday afternoon. It wasn’t crowded and we were seated right away. I ordered(our waitress was very nice — she came back 3 times when I couldn’t decide since the menu is massive) the chocolate chip and walnut stuffed French toast with a bacon and cheese omelet. The omelet came with home fries. The omelet was ok, nothing spectacular. The home fries were dry but I sorta like that. LOL! I did notice that neither the omelet nor the potatoes were seasoned. At all. That was weird. The French toast was really good. It was the highlight of my meal. My husband had the Hawaiian omelet with grits. He wasn’t impressed with either. He took a couple tastes of the grits and didn’t finish them. He noticed that the butter on his toast had an almost gritty texture but tasted fine. One more thing… I’m not sure if the A/C was not working or if they don’t run it but it was pretty warm inside the restaurant. That’s highly unusual for Florida where I always feel the need to bring a light sweater when going out to eat. There are ceiling fans but they did nothing but move the warm air around. Hubs and I were both sweating and switched from hot coffee to ice water to drink. All in all, we’d probably visit again if our regular haunts were crowded. But we wouldn’t go out of our way.

I like the smoothies but I don’t think they use all fresh fruit in them because of how sweet they are. Also I waited nearly 20 minutes for a pita wrap because they forgot my order. I’ll drive across town to Whole Foods for quality food next time.

Chili omelet for breakfast was tasty and too big to finish. Came with ‘home fries’(aka hash browns, the large cut-up-potato kind), which were also quite good, and toast. Coffee tasted good, service was friendly and patiently answered my questions. Within walking distance of the Westin, and much cheaper than their hoity-toity $ 19 breakfast.

Still the best diner in the greater Fort Lauderdale area, it’s not fancy but it executes the basics religiously well. The coffee is hot and not bitter, as are the wait staff. They make wonderful grits and the omelettes are perfect. My only gripe is that they use cheap high fructose corn syrup jams and syrups but that’s largely a lack of awareness and not a walk-the-walk problem like competitor First Watch. The kitchen, open to the dining room is filled with good smells peppered with Patois banter of the cooks. Diners drive-ins and dives should definitely check out this place!

Good service and good food, I had a late lunch on the last day they were open afternoons, and that’s a shame because this diner is a nice alternative to the Denny’s and IHOP’s. I had the Cuban sandwich which was very good, but way too much food for me after I had the cream of spinach soup which was Amazing. Service was prompt and polite, so I will definitely be returning if I can wake up early enough(I believe they close at 2pm).

If you’re looking for good, no-frills consistent diner food, this is the place. I’ve only had breakfast there, but several times, which means this place is a keeper in my book. They have the standard diner breakfast menu with a few extra surprises. Good portions and I’ve yet to have a bad meal. They’re great about taking custom orders and adjusting menu items to fit your preferences. The place is clean and decently sized and the staff are all very nice and attentive. If you get there during a non-busy time, the waitresses are very nice to chat with. I have breakfast business meetings with my Dad and his colleagues there all the time. I can’t say there’s anything remarkable about the menu — it’s all good, just depends on what you’re in the mood for.

Duffy’s is rather big diner but other than that typical of most every other diners with nothing I could find particularly outstanding about it, its service or its food. As for unusual, I thought it odd that they would have Eggs Benedict but then only on weekends. On my most recent visit I had their Monte Cristo sandwich which was certainly large enough but greasy and not that well concocted. Previously I’ve had several of their omelets, also served in a large portion but seemingly somewhat on the dry as well as on the bland side of the flavor scale. Duffy’s is an OK place but there are better diner choices.

Duffy’s Diner. It does what it says on the tin. There aren’t too many diners in the world. You know, the kinds with a squillion items on the menu and breakfast all day? Well, this diner does most of that — at least 100 items on the menu — and breakfast. But it was 2 in the afternoon, so I settled for a turkey club while my Dad chose the turkey and stuffing dinner. My club was pretty good though the fries were a little overdone for my taste(my Dad thought they were perfect). A good amount of turkey on his plate with a massive mountain of mashed potatoes(remember that scene from Close Encounters?) and gravy. He also go a small pot of cranberry sauce to go with it. Drinks were refilled by the friendly and very hardworking waitress. Interesting parking lot. For a diner in this neighborhood, I’d expect more«used» cars but this is Fort Lauderdale and so there were two Bentleys and a Mercedes and a fancy looking BMW convertible.

I would echo the Midwest sentiment from a prior Unilocal post. In South Florida, it’s difficult to find these neighborhood breakfast diners, which exist in the Midwest on virtually every other block. I’ve been coming to Duffy’s Diner for years — exclusively for breakfast — and I typically order one of two things that I will seldom stray away from. On certain visits, the first standard order is an omelette, with cheese, ham and mushrooms(with rye toast). The second standard order is the 2−2−2, which consists of eggs(prepared any way), choice of bacon or links, and pancakes. The food is okay. There isn’t anything that stands out. But bear in mind that the reason I’ve frequently been here, time and time again, is that it’s in a good location. As such, it’s a good meeting place to gather with friends and family. They get the food out quickly and service is always top rate and friendly. There’s two or three waitresses that have been here for years. There is this sense of normalcy and consistency every time I visit. If you’re in the neighborhood, or just passing through on your way to either Miami or West Palm, give this place a try.
