Nice discovery. Menu is great. Fried tomato croutons original. Large shrimp cooked to perfection. Will be coming back to try other menu items

The atmosphere is out of this world. The food was excellent. If you come here, you will not be disappointed. My sweetheart had the bbq shrimp and grits, I enjoyed the trio seafood plater. We shared some great crab cakes. All in all, we did we will be back again.

I love this place! The atmosphere, the staff, the bar… but especially the food! I’ve never had anything that wasn’t prepared fresh and as ordered. The last time I even ate fried oysters, something I’d never wanted to try before. But based on the char-broiled oysters I gave the fried oyster Rockefeller club sandwich a try, and instantly I’m loving fried oysters! I recommend Roux & Brew to everyone!

We’ve been here many times and used to absolutely love it. However, it seems like over the last few months they have slipped. Our favorite appetizer Fried Green Tomatoes have gotten much smaller. The other night we ordered 2 of the specials, Veal & Crawfish Platter. They were both less than what we expected. The Veal was thick and grainy with a gravy that just didn’t say«I was made at Roux & Brew». It was bland. The Crawfish Platter was not much of a platter, a 6oz cup of some kind of spicy crawfish soup, an equal amount of fried crawfish tails that were served room temp and the about 8oz of a crawfish étouffée. All for $ 20. The étouffée tasted as if the crawfish had not been purged… I hate to say it, but tasked like dirt. This is so not like the place we loved to visit. I really hope they work their way back to the way they were. The only thing that seems consistently good are their burgers. I guess we’ll stick with that for a while.

Met my parents, sister, and took my family to eat dinner for a «mini-reunion» of sorts. I picked the spot because of the Unilocal reviews — which always helps — and really depend upon them in these sorts of situations where I am in an unfamiliar town and have no local connections to rely on. Unilocal has never steered me wrong on these kinds of things — no BS. Hammond isn’t a big town — and so I didn’t come in with huge expectations of finding lot of options or, frankly, of being blown away by the food. However, while I wasn’t «blown away» — this place was a great choice and definitely went beyond what I anticipated. The first thing that hits you is the«look» of the place — situated in an old(I have no idea HOW old but I would guess at least 60 – 80 years) that had been renovated and re-purposed — and the architects did a fabulous job. Situation in what looks to be an old downtown area that is making a comeback — right along some railroad tracks — lots of brick and steel and wood. Loads of atmosphere… Our server was friendly, efficient and — pregnant! I only mention that to say — Congratulations! She did a great job taking care of us. For dinner I ordered the C’est bon Chicken Roulade — chicken breast — stuffed with spinach, andouille, and Tasso — that was quick fried and covered in a sun-dried tomato-basil-butter cream sauce. Served over rice with veggies on the side and this plate was a winner. Then only change for me would have been a little more sauce(I could drink it!) and fried just a LITTLE less — but it was still delicious. It was a great night there. We never made it out of the main dining area but the bar had a great vibe and I could see that becoming a favorite hangout spot if I was a local…

Loved just about everything we ordered! The décor is sparse but we didn’t go there for the décor. The shrimp and grits were great! the Grilled cheese with crabmeat was awesome and the c’est bon chicken roulades was THE best! The waiter, didn’t catch his name, was PERFECT… quick, friendly, helpful and didn’t involve himself in our meal. side note. the only thing that was off was the lemon-drop martini but that wasn’t too off… just needs to be tweaked a bit. i can’t wait to try more stuff

Food was very good. Apps and main courses were south louisiana. Staff was freindly. Atmosphere and food fits the name. Few improvements needed but all in all very good place to dine. I will be going back to try the whole menu. I will add. It was a little pricey for what and where it is. 33.00 ribeye… I think not! But it was a good steak.

Went in with high expectations after reading some reviews. Came out very underwhelmed. Crab cake apps were Luke warm, almost seemed like they were store bought. Was expecting a red fish or a local freshwater fish as a fish choice not salmon. The filet mignon left a lot to be desired at that price. Was cooked correctly, but was not melt in your mouth juicy. Was actually kind of dry. Highlight were the fries. Unfortunately, we will not return.

This place is great! We have been here on several occasions and the food has always been awesome. We always start out with the Duck Tenderloins as an appetizer. They are delicious. You really can’t go wrong with any of their entrées. Service is always excellent too. The only complaint I have is with their side salads. The Caesar or any salad dressing with the House Salad is always bland tasting. This is not a deal breaker. Let’s be honest, nobody goes to a restaurant based on how good the side salad is going to taste. As of this date of my review, this is my favorite restaurant on the north shore.

Grilled oysters are phenomenal, shrimp and grits are also delicious, ribeye steak will rival most prime steakhouses. The gumbo and e’touff’ee are the best that I’ve ever had in Louisiana. This restaurant is really on to something, I was amazed at the quality of their food at such a low price.

We tried this place because of the rave reviews, but it didn’t live up to the hype. It wasn’t our worst experience with a restaurant, but it wasn’t our best. The fried fish was just that. Fried fish. The hush puppies were overcooked. The fries had a nice flavor but they were cold. No over the top customer service experience to brag about during our visit.

I always enjoy myself when I come here. The staff is always very friendly and welcoming. The drinks from the bar and strong and made well. All oysters are the bomb! They are always fresh and plump. The shrimp and grits is awesome!!! You have to try it at least once. I recommend people try it out.

Went there last week and had the Duck appetizer and the Crab cakes dinner. Both were very delicious and enough for 2 people and the service was excellent. Definitely recommend and will be going back to try the Shrimp and grits and the Bacon wrapped Shrimp!

Great meal tonight. Heard some good things about this place and decided to give it a try. Better than I expected. Started out with the garlic parmesan chargrilled oysters. Not Drago’s, but quite tasty. Had the fried shrimp but didn’t want the fries. They gladly subbed the creamed spinach. Both were excellent. The shrimp were large and cooked perfectly. The creamed spinach was incredible. Definitely worth the drive. Will gladly come back.

We are traveling from Florida to Houston and stopped in Hammond for the night. We came across this store looking for something other than chain stores. We found a winner. If we lived in the area, we would return often. Between the three of us, we had a house salad, tomato basil soup, a bowl of crawfish étouffée, and an off-menu item called crawfish pastry. All were excellent. The local lager was very good as were the wine and cocktail we had. The waiters are dressed snappily and gave excellent service. We got there just before 7pm and we’re lucky we did; the place filled up soon after. If you are looking for classy casual, this is it. Recommended.
