Poppy’s Italiano

I can’t even begin to describe how wonder this place is. The atmosphere is delightful and the food is out of the world. As a Northerner I find it really hard to find good Italian food down south, but I found it here! Our server was Jessica and she was very sweet and super accommodating. The chicken Milanese was spectacular! The chicken was moist and tender and the risotto was perfectly seasoned. Definitely order the garlic bread. My husband and mother ordered the shrimp parmigiana and my grandmother order the little necks over linguini. They really enjoyed they’re food. You definitely get your money’s worth here at Poppy’s.

This is the best Italian in northeast Florida. No exaggeration. My wife and I celebrate every anniversary here, and every time it is a wonderful experience. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly and accommodating. We will continue to keep this one in our rotation.

I had one of the best Italian meals in Jax at Poppy’s. We ordered two entrees, the lasagna and the chicken Marsala. Both were phenomenally good. Mine came with a generous Caesar salad with fried cheese. The garlic bread is large and saturated in garlic butter. Not for the faint of breath.
Why not 5-​stars? Because I had to wait 45 minutes for a table even with a reservation, and there is no place to wait. Customers were jammed into the entry way shoulder to shoulder waiting for tables to free up.

Picked up two 16″ pizzas at the appointed time. One was done, the other was not. They told us that one had just been put in oven. After paying they told us it would be three minutes. Then, magically, two 10″ pizzas appeared and we were told that they had «run out» of 16″ pizzas. How does a pizza parlor RUN OUT OF 16″ PIZZAS!!! Isn’t pizza made to order? Maybe Poppy’s serves pre-​made frozen pizzas?

Mediocre food, liberal use of garlic to add flavor. Pizzas are like a homemade version of a frozen pizza. Crust was spongy. Yes, they have a cappuccino machine, but it must not be very good because on the night we were there, the hostess sent a staffer out for Starbucks. He walked around the dining room with his Starbucks cup for a good 30 mins (when he wasn’t in a hen session up front).
It’s easier than cooking yourself, but not as good as a pre-​made frozen entrée from Costco.

We got take out. it was awesome. We are staying at the marriot sawgrass and ordered pick up instead of room service but could’ve had it delivered
We are from Philadelphia and are use to great italian and this is equally as perfect as our favorite restaurants at home. I definitely recommend… they get an A++

I love, love, love this place. Every time I am in the area (and sometimes when I am not) I make it a point to visit. I love the red sauce, early bird prices, house cab, espresso, and chicken parm.
Easily garners 5 stars because of that. Only negatives: restaurant is on the smaller size so you would benefit from reservations unless you get there before 5ish. I overheard various server conversations just sitting at our table, which are probably best kept between servers. Also, they serve creamers cold in hot espresso if you ask for espresso with cream, which is fair but I prefer it steamed on top. Like I said, despite these things, still five stars for equality of food, taste, and prices in an area with really expensive dining options that do not always provide quality.

Oh my goodness!!! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Poppy’s! Our waitress Jessica was amazing! Super sweet, helpful and had wonderful and delicious recommendations! The restaurant is very unassuming and located in a small strip mall but packs quite the flavor punch! The service was impeccable and the food was delicious and fresh! The portions are quite large and sadly left no room for dessert, which Jessica assured me I must try! Next time I’ve decided I’m going to order dessert first!!!

My wife and I stumbled in Poppy’s a few Saturdays ago… no one else was in the place… and we were somewhat reserved about weather we should stay or not. I mean… there was a Larry’s Giants Sub a few doors down that I was craving.
Alas… we were seated. And I am really glad we did.
There is a HUGE lunch menu to choose from. Everything is very reasonably priced. I ordered the sausage sub, and my wife had the chicken cutlet parm sub. Both were large sandwiches… and stuffed (no skimping here) with quality ingredients. The bread was perfect.
We have been back for dinner, and was still impressed with the food and portion sizes. For dinner I had the pasta combo plate. It was really good.
I am looking forward to going back to try a few more of the menu items.

We were in the area looking for a good restaurant for dinner. With Unilocal’s assistance, we found a great one! This restaurant had such good reviews and photos that we had to try it! All the reviews were very accurate as this restaurant really exceeded my expectations. The server was very knowledgeable about the menu and friendly. He asked, not only about our food, but our trip to Ponte Vedra Beach.
Considering I read such great reviews for the Eggplant Parmesan, I had to try it! It was simply fabulous! The meal started with a Caesar salad and garlic bread. The garlic bread was a bit tough but the salad made up for it. The Caesar salad was definitely one of the best I’ve ever had! It had plenty of lettuce and was dressed with just enough dressing. Then the main course came out and it’s presentation was as beautiful as the taste! The Eggplant was cooked just right alongside a pile of pasta with marinara sauce. All entrees come with soup or salad, garlic rolls, and pasta (even if it doesn’t say so directly on the menu).
There was no wait for a table and we got seated in a nice booth right way. This restaurant is great for large parties and folks of all ages. The atmosphere was also remarkable! They had a live accordion player performing classic Italian tunes. Whether you’re out on a date or having a meal with your family, I definitely recommend you try it!

I visited this awesome place just based on Unilocal reviews and was very surprised! I happened to be in the Ponte Vedra Beach area for a wedding and was looking for a good place to eat. We found this gem.
The menu has a wide array of options to enjoy. I personally the Shrimp and Scallops alla Rosa. If you love prima rosa sauce, I highly recommend it. It comes with pasta of course. The alla Rosa sauce is cooked to perfection and all the flavors are wonderfully balanced. You also get a choice of soup or salad with garlic bread. All superb.
The service is great. The waiter was knowledgeable and helpful. If you’re in the area, it is definitely worth a try and I am sure you will enjoy it!
