Super 8 Pontoon Beach

Nice motel for the budget. Could use a little cleaning but well maintained nonetheless. Good location next to the police department and several eateries. Plenty of towels and soap. Beds not to bad and they have free wifi. Good for your budget. Recommend staying.

We stayed at this place on the night of June 13 prior to the Illinois Route 66 motor tour. Considering what Super 8 is, this was among the best Super 8’s where we have ever stayed the night.
The staff was kind, just like you expect in most of the Midwest. There was remodeling going on, but they had the rooms being remodeled well sealed.
I have only one gripe about this place, and it is not their fault really. In order to go left onto IL-​111, you have to go right for a couple blocks and do a U-​turn.
If you are a Mother Roader, this is a good stopping point coming from Chicago on day 1. It is just a few minutes from the Chain of Rocks Bridge.

My daughter stayed here recently and through a series of crazy events, her «friend» left and went home — leaving my daughter alone in a strange city. The staff was SOOO incredibly helpful, watchful and kind to her as she spent the weekend alone! Heather, the night desk clerk, even offered to have some of her friends come down and keep my daughter company.
Knowing my daughter was hundreds of miles away and was all alone was super stressful. But knowing that the staff was watching out for her, helped calm my nerves.
Overall — clean and great service!
