Has been a year since last stayed here. This is much better than other choices here local, lately. I chose this tonite solely because of tv situation. Not in room, but a certain channel NBC Sports, available in the bar until they close. National Finals Rodeo going on and nowhere else in the area to watch on tv. My core group, Maverick Intl., owns Frontier Rodeo, which has 31 head of bucking stock at the NFR this year. Back to the room… all really good here, but could use some elec outlets bedside, though one is accessible behind the nitestand. Good iron and board to spiff up the uniform also. Nice bedding and bath amenities. This is one of the better hotel situations in the airport area. Good price on room also with no res. Expedia was $ 139. At the hotel…$ 129. Back again here Dec 13. Real small room for 2 queen beds. Cozy for sure. Was quite a chore just finding our room, through a maze of twists and turns. Otherwise, all is well, and I plan to stay here again.

The room was clean, free breakfast with a warm, friendly and helpful staff at breakfast. The staff at the front desk not so friendly. This holiday inn does not look or feel like a typical HI. I tired to call room service multiple times and was always placed on hold for over five minutes. Not worth the wait. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Wonderful amenities here. Not so wonderful staff. I came here about two weeks ago for a work trip(because no one vacations to Port Arthur, am I right?) Anyhow, as a single 20-something female, you would think it would be common sense that my safety is to be valued. I felt very unsafe at this hotel and got about half the sleep I was planning on. When I walked in, there was a little old lady working the front desk. There was also a single man hanging out by the counter at the other end. I found it a bit odd, considering he didn’t say much and he was mostly just watching the lady checking me in and me. The lady asked if I was staying alone and, since I was traveling on my company’s dime, I didn’t want to lie and say yes(even though that would have been the safer answer to ward off any unwanted visitors at night). Then when she gave me my paperwork and key, I was so proud of her for saying, «this is your room number» and circling it on the paper instead of saying it out loud. I wanted to hug her for being smart and looking out for my safety! But when she handed me my key, she said«You are in room 157… Just down the hallway here on your right.» Cool… thanks for letting everyone(including the man /visitor at the counter) know where I’ll be staying alone tonight! Then I went to my room and the TV was unplugged. I couldn’t find the plug and there was a Khloe and Lamar marathon on TV that I kinda wanted to watch, so I had to go back to the front desk to ask for help. The maintenance guy came very quickly and fixed the problem for me. Now I was content again. But the walls were pretty thin, and my big wall of window facing the parking lot was not a good sound protector either. As such, I could hear car doors opening and closing all night, I could hear people coming and going down the hallway and I could hear my neighbors’ activities. Good thing I was tired enough to still sleep about 3 – 4 hours that night. 2 stars because, to be honest, I have experienced better — much better. But 1 star just seemed too mean.
