Came here yesterday for the all you can eat seafood buffet, and it was phenomenal. Crab legs, salmon patties, shrimp, cod, it was all amazing. The service was friendly, but slow. Would come back again.

I had the loaded fries with the bacon, green onion, and sour cream. It was a decent appetizer and it came out at perfect timing. The service and staff for this riverside restaurant on the south end could have been faster. It had the perfect view of the river and the Canadian industrial area. The main problems for the restaurant is lack of good service and the atmosphere for the weekday lunch. I find the restaurant not too busy at lunch hour.

Lousy service. Girl off of work had to help us, no bread ready. Karaōke at diner time? Poor apps and high prices. No thanks

Went for new $ 5.99 lunch special! Good good but had to take the sandwich to go, took well over 45 minutes for the food and with an hour lunch there was not enough time to eat there. Could be great success if service was faster for those of us with a limited lunch break!!!

This was my worst dining experience I’ve ever had. The service was absolutely horrible. We had a large party of 15+ people and the single server that they gave us(Judy) was very impatient and rude to us as we tried to get additional items with our order. The chicken tenders were not good at all and when we tried to return the we got a loud talking belligerent manager(acting manager-Brandie) who spoke to us as if we were sum. My family and I were embarrassed and humiliated by the staff. Brandie even went so far as to tell us that no one wanted to deal with us and that she should ask us to pay our bill $ leave. We did nothing to warrant this treatment. After waiting 30 mins to get our bills they were not accurate and Brandie stated she was not going to deal with it and passed us off rudely to Gabbie. Gabbie is the only reason that this place received one star. She got our bills corrected and treated us with respect. I will never go there again!

Went for the Sunday brunch. It was ok. Personally didn’t think it was worth the $ 18.95 they charge for it. The atmosphere was a little strange too, just felt dated and the 80’s music that played didn’t help.

When I arrived, I shot in to the little boy’s room real quick, and the hostess said she would be right back to seat me. It didn’t happen — she never returned, although numerous other employees walked past me. My money and I finally walked out. So how’s the food? Service? Well, don’t ask me, because I never experienced either. Obviously not a good 1st visit

Today was the third time we have been there. Absolutely love their perch and battered fried shrimp. Tastes so fresh.

Good food, killer view. You can see up and down the St. Clair River for quite a ways, and freighters and Canada fill your sights. It has a nice beachy/nautical them, with an aquarium in the main dining room. It’s much more cheery than the former restaurant located here for decades«The Pilot House», which had a very dated 1970’s dark paneled interior. In addition, they have a very large deck for warmer days, but it can get VERY windy, as it sticks out into the river. Food and drinks here are good, and while service has been up and down at times, staff always tries to be friendly. If your ordering medium, make sure you say you want it pink if your closer to rare then well though — especially with the Prime Rib. Been several times now, and favorite is the mussels — we often make meals of the appetizer — and the burgers, which come basket style.

My boyfriend and I ate here Saturday and the waitress was really nice! I ordered the crab stuffed salmon and it was probably one of the best things I’ve ever eaten, it was so good! I cant wait to go back.

First time eating here. We had chicken wraps, which were excellent! Sweet potato fries were very good. Crab stuffed Portobello mushroom was great. Only drawback was the view of the River was not great… but nothing they could do about that. Danielle, server, was very nice.

Drove almost 30 miles just to get there and have them tell me «sorry we decided to close 2 hours early. Really? So what now, waisted my time and money going to try a place for the first time since they changed from the pilot house. Pretty sure I won’t be back. You have set hours for a reason. Thanks for nothing!

First visit since their opening, stopped in for lunch. Food was good, and the service was friendly. The view from the restaurant seating is always outstanding, 180 degrees of the St. Clair River on the St. Lawrence Seaway.

We ordered burgers and cod with clam chowder, Caesar salad as appetizers. The chowder was a bit thick for my personal taste– but flavorful and delicious. My husband liked his salad, it had good flavor and was chilled; our lunch was burgers and the cod – both burgers were build your own and they were fine. The cod was really yummy! Service was fine too! Overall It was ok– not spectacular and not craptacular— I did get an upset tummy later from the meat– but I’m used to grass-fed farm raised beef– not the mass market beef lots from hell. It may not bother you if that’s what you eat.

The service sucks. Know I know why they have rocks in their name. Must refer to the wait staffs personality they need cooks that have a basic knowledge of food preparation. Pan fried perch although the fish was cooked the drakes. Breading was soggy. If your in the mood for some great bread and a very good wedge salad this is perfect for you. You want good food out it the kitchen your better off going to White Castle

We were seated right at the entrance of the restaurant where everyone walked by. Then the hostess was too busy showing off her baby to do her job. After that the hostess and about four others decided to stand right behind our table and carry on a conversation, I had to ask the waitress to ask them to move elsewhere. Then we placed our orders, and waited a little too long to receive them. My wife’s steak that was ordered medium came out well done. We sent it back and the next steak came out blood rare. The next steak came out done to order, but by then everyone else was done with their meals. She had it boxed up and we took it home. I doubt that we will return. P\ ps. The waitress was working very hard and was embarrassed by the way our experience turned out.

We went to Rix ‘s today for an early supper. The food was great! We had the gizzards for our appetizer. They were very good very tender. I had the seafood salad also very good. My boyfriend had prime rib. It was huge but not cooked as he likes it too rare. But the upshot is the dogs thought the scraps were awesome. Over all a very nice meal. We will go back again.

went for lunch today and had a great experience. They were very busy! The free bread is sooooo good! I love restaurants that are not run by a multi-million $ corporation. Seems too many reviewers on Unilocal base their experience on those standards. We had great service and food.

We went tuesday– want very busy however the waitress was slower than molasses… It wasnt just oirs– they are seemed to be moseying instead of trying to get to customers. The food was hit and miss– friedcitems were soaking with oil– they apparently don’t understand that the fryer must be HOT. The mgr tries to make up by taking 15% off our bill and asked UA to give them another chance. I always want to support new establishments so we did go again this time on a Saturday night… BIG mistake. Took us 15 min just to get water and hour to get our food which came out cold or incorrect. My husband ordered a steak and got salmon… he of course didn’t take and we left without him having dinner couldn’t wait another hour for them to get it right… I really hope they take heed as they will not be around long if their service and food is so inconsistent and sub par.

What a lovely lunch I had here today. My co-workers and I were seated on the deck and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day. Sunny with a light breeze. I ordered the Bart’s Chicken Gizzard’s for old time sake, with a side of coleslaw. I was very happy with my choice. The coleslaw was ice cold and crunchy just like it should be. The gizzards were tender and breaded lightly. I would get them again, but only after I have tried a few of the other choices on the menu. Both my friends liked their meal as well. A side of Macaroni and Cheese came on a good sized serving dish. It seemed to have a bit of a spicy kick to it, and was a homemade recipe according to the menu. The Thick Potato Twists that came with the hamburger were just that… thick, twisty and unique. My co-worker really liked those. I’ve never seen fries like these before. My folks ate here yesterday and everyone in the group raved about the House Special Steak that my dad had. A tender cut of steak topped with grilled onions, mushrooms and melted Swiss cheese. All of us were very happy with the friendly and attentive staff, especially Alexa and B.B. I know that we will now be adding Rix on the Rocks to our«let’s eat here» lunch rotation! They are off to a great start. Wishing this spot on the St. Clair River continued success.
