Great bagels, good people, good service. Coffe is not the best. Very good egg sandwiches. If you like soft chewy bagels (like me) then this is the place. Definately the best bagels in Port Jefferson. Trust me, I’ve been to all of the others.

Shoreham, NY
This is a good bagel place and is better than most other bagel places in the area. The bagels are dark, crispy and covered with lots of toppings. There is ample seating and the staff is very friendly. They also have the *commuter special* which inclues free coffee with some purchases.

This is probably the worst egg sandwich I’ve ever had. The bagel is terrible, and pretty stale, but the taste is just off. Almost as if there were a «chemical» flavor to it. I’m assuming this is the «medicine» taste another reviewer was mentioning.

What the what? I just bought a bagel here. They are tremendous, with no hole and the Everything bagel tasted like medicine.
The space is old and dirty looking
They only accept cash
I want to support any small business, Panera is across the street and competition must be tough. But the bagel was really really bad and cash only makes me wanna say pass on this place.

My favorite bagels. I’ve had many LI bagels and I always want to return to Better on a Bagel. My family has been getting bagels from this place for probably 20 years, or however long its been open. They are perfectly soft and chewy with excellent flavor. The best!

East Setauket, NY
This is my favorite bagel place on the Island. I go when ever i can and the bagel’s are always great. Usually get either a breakfast special (2 eggs any way w/​bacon or sausage and cheese on roll or bagel) or an egg everything with scailon cream cheese. This place has never disapointed me and the owner is a really nice guy!
