The girl with the black rimmed glasses and dark hair that works here is one of the most rude people I’ve ever delt with at a deli. The eye rolls and sighs and seeming all around bothered to take my order was so off putting. I will make sure to let people know of this. So unfortunate as the other people that work here seem very genuine and nice.

I’ve come here twice. The first time I ordered a pastrami reuben and it was one of the best reubens I have ever had. It was juicy, the bread was slightly toasted, with the perfect combination of sauce, sauerkraut, and cheese. Wonderbar! The second time I came, I ordered the same sandwich. It was extremely disappointing. The meat wasn’t as good, the bread was sopping, there was way too much sauerkraut and sauce and it was overall a not so good experience. Consistency is extremely important to me when it comes to food quality. Unfortunately wunderbar let me down the second time. Also, their menu is hard to find(located at the left most end of the restaurant in take-out form) and doesn’t tell me what I can order. It lists the type of meats they have and the salad items, but does not have any sort of list or pricing of sandwiches available.

I’ve been going here somewhere around 30 years now. Best chicken cutlet hero hands down and their prices are still the best of any deli for miles. You’ve also never seen a staff handle a long line the way they do here. Thank you for being so good for all these years.

Food might have been good but I have no idea… Place is a complete free for all when it comes to lines and ordering… 5 people that randomly picked the right side to stand got served before myself and the guy in front of me. We both ended up walking out after 15 min of waiting and we where next in line. It was that frustrating. The man in front of me says they have good food but that’s why he doesn’t go normally either. I will never go back.

Liked this place. Good sandwiches and huge! We had Italian subs(aka hoagies) and we shared a grilled chicken, L/T, baon, swiss sandwich that was ok. If you aren’t famished, then you could probably split one with a friend.

Dump. Worst chicken cutlet ever. Way too thick. Tasted boiled. Over nuked by the rude girl behind the counter. If you can’t make a simple chicken cutlet and American cheese sandwich taste good I cross you off my list.

20 plus years eating here. Clean, friendly staff. Clean deli. Food always good and fresh. Best egg sandwiches around. Corn muffins award winning. When I cheat on my diet, I wake up and say«Wunderbar!!»

I was hungover a day after a party bus celebration. My girlfriend and i dropped her friends off at Port Jefferson. We wanted a quick bite to eat and this placed popped up. We shared an egg salad hero and the portions were very generous. I was disapppointed they stopped serving breakfast by 12pm so they overstuffed the sandwich with bacon. It was enough to make me sh*t grease. But all in all i recommend this spot.

Very unimpressed… the prices were cheap but you get what you pay for. I ordered spicy chicken parm which had more bread then chicken and tasted like it had been in a refrigerator to long. Will not go back!

I’ve been coming here since I was a wee lass. There is no other deli. End of story. Chris & the gang are the sandwich masters and are responsible for the fact that I’m 10 lbs heavier than desired. Keep the Pastrami coming my friends.

Wunderbar is an institution. Chris is the man. Everything is delicious, especially the mac and cheese. I’ve been coming here since I was a baby and I still go regularly. If I’m in the mood for a sandwich this is where I end up.

Went in for a BLT. Told the guy I didn’t want burnt bacon. I got burnt bacon. Its like eating bacon bits that you would put on a salad. This isn’t the first time with this issue. I’m done with this place.

This place is awesome! The staff is so friendly, and the food is really good. I especially enjoy coming here in the morning to order an egg sandwich. The specials are awesome.

This place should be deemed a historical, culinary take-out landmark in this community. Sandwiches are well constructed and tasty. You will not get any outrageous, pretentious, overly imaginative, fu-fu sandwiches here. It’s somewhat rustic or comforting to eat a ham and swiss sandwich that isn’t dressed with some artisanal, honey-mustard vinaigrette, with layers of pears and goat cheese on it. Those sandwiches have their place in the culinary world, but you won’t find them here. What you will get is a sandwich built with copious amounts of ham and swiss on the bread of your choice, with the perfect amount of mustard. Fancy at Wunderbar would include adding lettuce or tomato… This place is the type of German deli your grandpop might have talked about from a bygone era. The food is simple, fresh and the portions are huge. The staff are courteous and the line moves quickly. The German potato salad is a favorite of mine. The egg sandwiches contain an amount of bacon that appears larger than life — something you would see in a lumberjack camp. FYI — their bacon is thin sliced and extra crispy.

Breakfast sandwiches, awesome. Cold cut sandwiches so stacked, you could feed a small village in some countries. Some good hot dishes as well. Wunderbar really has it all. Did I mention the corn muffins. They are FRIKIN huge and corny(in the good way). I can’t go here too often since the calorie counts are off the chart. But it sure is a a treat when I get to go.

Wunderbar is my choice for best egg sandwich on the Island, bar none. Their prices can run a little higher than your average deli, but you get what you pay for – and then some – in quality and quantity. These are men’s sandwiches, filled with copious amounts of meat and eggs cooked perfect to order. My customary order is 3 eggs over easy, sausage, bacon, salt, and pepper on a roll. Try it and you will not be disappointed. It’s also worth noting that this place is immaculate, which demonstrates the owners’ obvious pride in, and meticulousness in the management of, their establishment.

The best egg sandwich! The eggs are deliciously runny and they are not cheap with the meat. I am not a fan of bacon(I know, I know… un-American, believe me, everyone is disgusted with me for this), but they are not cheap with the sausage, and I usually spice it up with a little pepperjack cheese, pepper and ketchup… MMMMM now I cannot wait for breakfast! Deli sandwiches are also very good. I am a big fan of their wheat roll and when you ask for hot peppers on your sandwich, they give you pepporoncinis! The sandwiches are massive and well made. They also have a variety of hot foods and soups, but I have never tried these. I can speak to the cole slaw. Let me begin by saying, I really LOVE cole slaw and I can be a bit picky about it. This is some good slaw! Finally, if you’re in a time-crunch, call your order in ahead of time. The staff here has quite a bit of personality and they’ll almost certainly make some jokes/remarks, but as long as you have a good sense of humor and a large appetite, you will be happy at Wunderbar!

Wunderbar which is a German expression meaning«Wonderful,» in my opinion has the best egg sammies(sandwiches) within a 10−15mi radius of the entire Port Jefferson/Three Village area. Their sandwiches are extremely meaty as they don’t skimp on the bacon and other breakfast meats, very large, the best bang for your buck and the bread doesn’t become as mushy as happens to many egg sandwiches from other delis. They have become my GOTO egg sandwich establishment as they were highly recommended by several other folks and they definitely didn’t disappoint. My egg sandwiches are monstrous, usually 12 egg whites, 2 whole eggs, grilled chicken, bacon, turkey, tomato on whole wheat toast with pepper and no butter. They are absolutely freakin’ awesome! I highly recommend them for your breakfast egg sandwiches as I’ve tried deli after deli, week after week in search of the BESTEGGSAMMIE! THIS has been a review by Gaurav

Extremely popular deli. I grew up playing hockey with the owner, he was one of the kids’ dad and he is a nice guy too. Large and when you order breakfast sandwiches they add a COMICAL amount of bacon on it. If you order a hungry man you will probably take a few weeks off your life. I really like this place though because although the location is not on a major drag, or near any businesses of mention, it is supported wholly by the Port Jefferson/Port Jefferson Station locals, and it is an example of a full deli that is getting rarer and rarer. A true local place!
