A nice place to sit and enjoy the outdoors and beautiful view. I see the reviews here are very sporadic, but they were definitely open in December 2015. They offered raw seafood for sale and also had cooked items for outdoor dining. They have a bar. We ordered crab legs and fresh steamed shrimp, some fried fish, and fried shrimp with fries. I didn’t care for the batter they use, but the steamed items were really good. I would definitely go back. It’s the view and the steamed items that are the selling point. I took some fresh uncooked shrimp home and they were also fantastic. The bartender/waitress was very nice and informative. The prices here are AWESOME for the amount of food you get. You will be pleasantly surprised.

We drove here after reading reviews only to find the place padlocked. Have to assume they are no longer in business

I’m a little torn about writing this review on this one experience. We ended up taking home 2 dozen live blue crabs basically because the one guy working the shack was clearly not to happy about the hustle. Had planned on trying a few items. Also — no Beer. ;(How does one eat blue crabs on the water without beer? The crabs we brought home were excellent with dad’s awesome touch. So, maybe another day, when not so ?? busy.(I think I counted 5 people total)

Let me sum it up with just plain simple words, definitely some of the freshest and best seafood anywhere in Daytona area, fresh cooked when you order, only few places to sit but grab cold beer table outside, relax and guarantee you will like

BEST Fish Tacos I’ve Ever Tasted! Love the simple fish camp atmosphere… can’t wait to go back. However, I do suggest some fans outside – Gets a bit steamy(pun intended) this time of year.

A recent trip to Daytona helped us find this gritty gem outside of Daytona Beach in the town of Port Orange. We discovered Brigadoon’s in asking a local down at the Daytona Pier where we could get some nets to go crabbing. He mentioned that if we just wanted crabs, Brigadoon’s had the best in the area. He described the place, and though his description seemed kinda rough, we wanted to try some good food before we left the area. We drove to Port Orange at 5:30 on a Saturday night in the middle of August and couldn’t find a place to park, though we were questioning if we really wanted to park. The place was something outta a bad movie. The sign said«Brigadoon Fish Camp: Fine Dining In the Dirt». It was a rough and tumble shack right off the water, with a dumpster buzzing with flies and heavy with rotting seafood. Starving cats and a lazy dog napped on a decrepit patio where an elderly gent sat on a rocking chair. Trees with Spanish moss formed the background of this picturesque vignette. Did we really want to get out of the car here? But the full, tiny dirt lot motivated us to think, «If there’s this many locals, it’s GOT to be good.» And we were right. The establishment offers all kinds of local seafood, fresh caught the day of or the day before and kept alive in giant outdoor tubs. They had clams, crabs, shrimp and oysters. But we just wanted crabs and shrimp. The shrimp were nine bucks a pound, which seemed pricey, but they steam them there for you in your choice of mild, hot or Cajun garlic seafood boil. The crabs were eight bucks for twelve, which they also steam for you there. While we waited for our food, the owner, a really sweet guy by the name of Butch, talked us up about his garden and his worm farming. After our food was brought out, we decided to bring it back to our hotel instead of dining there on one of the picnic tables since the smell from the dumpster was too odoriferous. Delish! Words can hardly describe the succulent, melt in your mouth texture of the perfectly seasoned shrimp. We had ordered mild boil seasoning on the shrimp and it was salted just right with enough of a zing to compliment the shrimp. The crabs were great as well, though I had a hard time cracking them open since it was my first time eating them. They too were amazing. The flesh was sweet and fresh, and the Cajun Garlic seasoning had a kick. All told we spent twenty eight bucks for a meal fit for a king. And we weren’t the only ones who went to dine like royalty– people from every walk of life were picking up massive amounts of seafood from the divey hole in the bay. When we left that night, people were waiting for our space like sharks. I will definitely revisit this place when we return. I highly recommend it for folks visiting the area. It’s a great change of place from the touristy, over-priced shacks with their fried, greasy dishes.
