Ritters is a local spot for freshly made Custard, frozen treats, food & cakes/pies. Ok so I’ve never had any of their cakes, hot dogs or anything else besides the custard lol but then again that’s why I go. It covers a large busy corner intersection with shaded seating out front and a small but more private recess area to relax under the trees. Great prices, friendly staff and something for everyone including doggys lol. They have low sugar options and rot your teeth out options lol(I enjoy both)! My go to’s are the Peanut Butter Mountain, Banana Split, Glaciers and their No Sugar Added Vanilla! My nieces/nephews love the Worms & Dirt(vanilla/chocolate scoop, crushed oreos gummy worms) and Italian Ices! Let’s get back to the custard B) ! It’s thick, creamy & deeeeeee-licious! I love going up there to break up a busy work day, enjoy some quality time with my nieces/nephews or just do a pickup and pig out at home in private! Lol… don’t hate! E) Custard greatness… Enjoy my friends!

So anyone that knows me knows I’m a dessert lover and heard Ritters was the place go try. It’s main thing is the different varieties of custards but I felt for some ice cream and decided to go with the strawberry sundae with wafers. Can you say yummy, of course I couldn’t indulge alone so I gave a few spoons to our son. He was happy, it’s ice cream with whipped cream and a cherry on top. So next time I’m in town they got my business, it’s been around for awhile and by the taste of things they will be around for a while longer. So if your in Daytona try Ritters you won’t be disappointed.

I can’t give this place enough credit! Lol this ice cream is absolutely amazing. Service was great. Highly recommended. They even have some small dinosaur statues that the kids can play on and burn off the sugar rush behind the building with picnic tables.

I’ve only ever had the custard, so I can’t really speak to anything else but OMG! This place is absolutely fantastic. Thick, creamy, and not too sweet, plus you can add as many candy, fruit, or other items that you want to make a perfectly personalized sweet treat! Definitely a must when visiting Daytona!!!

Brrrr, delicious! Yes this is the only frozen custard place around – but I’ve had frozen custard at different locations up north(mostly in Ohio) before, and this place definitely is as good if not better for a really creamy-flavorful and cool treat! We don’t frequent this place since there are so many good dessert places in port orange(ie Stonewood’s Chocolate Bread Pudding or their Florida Orange Cake OR Betty’s on A1A’s(whose desserts are all homemade!) Banana Dream Dessert-ammmmazing!) but once in a while we will make a special trip to this outdoor venue. Great quality custard – and the venue is done in a similar style the old dairy queens or twistee treats. Lots of seats and decent service. I like the amount of choices they have but all the different menus and signs for things plastered to the walls can be a but confusing. Still a good joint to be enjoyed from time to time and much cheaper than most ice cream franchises(ie marble slab, or sweet frog(frozen yogurt))

Love me some frozen custard and try to get it whenever I’m in the south east. Ritter’s seems like a beloved chain with long ties to the community. This is nice, clean, large location was easy to find, with plenty of parking. In order to highlight the«custardyness» of this treat, I ordered a vanilla cone. It was good, but very white and not very«custardy» As I understand it, eggs are the difference and there was little evidence of their presence. To me, it was just a slightly more rich version of soft serve :(As such, it was also seemed to be a bit overpriced.

Get a glacier. It’s vanilla frozen custard with mix-ins. I like peanut butter and chocolate chip. Banana and pineapple is great too. They have lots of outside seating under umbrellas. There’s a park where the kids can play. The place is dog friendly too.

The staff was very friendly, just had a hard time working the register. My order wasn’t too difficult yet I still had to repeat it probably 5 times. The frozen custard was good, great variety and fast service. I will be back!

Ice cream is tasty and high quality, the prices are pretty fair for the quality of product. Indoor seating would be nice though

Nice selection of flavors, but I had a big chunk of ice in my sundae.(Not my idea of a good topping) A bit pricey for what you get. Fun place though. Nice outdoor seating, cute toddler playground next to even more outdoor seating.

a favorite guilty pleasure of Daytona. Great frozen custard of all manner of flavors. Just had banana and chocolate cone, great top off of a 4th fireworks display on the beach. Can also recommend flavors for next day. Red raspberry is awesome! Owner is a very nice fellow, John, and his staff is friendly, efficient and polite. open till midnite on the 4th of july and some days when the Daytona raceway has evening races. we stop anytime we are in town.

Great custard place! They have a great selection of frozen treats for everyone’s tastes. Their light flavors are alright, but everything else is just fine. Admittedly they are pricey for a desert stand. They can get pretty busy in the evening on nice days so it may take a bit at those times.

I love frozen custard! I had no idea what frozen custard was until my mom brought me to Ritter’s on one of my visits. It is amazing! Ritters has a lot of flavors and a lot of ways to get your custard. We usually go with the strawberry sundae with toasted pecans. The medium is PLENTY big and can totally serve as a meal. In fact we have gone there for«dinner» on numerous occasions. A couple things to note though… They only have outdoor seating, so visiting when the weather is nice is a good idea. Otherwise you may have to sit in your car. Their service isn’t speedy but it isn’t because they aren’t trying. It seems like no matter what day, time of day, or time of year you go they are always busy. Thats a good thing right? But because of that sometimes you will have to wait in line for a bit. So keep that in mind if you are in a hurry. But believe me, it is totally worth it. They are a little pricey. One of the reasons that we don’t mind is because it is delicious and as I mentioned before it could easily replace a meal. And sometimes i’d just rather spend my money on a strawberry sundae than a value meal from a fast food restaurant. If you are in the area I would suggest giving them a try. They aren’t near the beach so if you are visiting make sure to look them up ahead of time. They are only about 5 minutes from the highway, so its an easy stop before you head back to where ever you came from :)

My wife went to Purdue and was always saying how she missed the ol days of that frozen custard. Well I saw a groupon with frozen custard and bought it to surprise my wife. After lunch one day I took her to Ritter’s. My wife was thrilled to see a frozen custard place. We ordered the glacier med size, strawberry and coconut. Let me tell you my glacier was filled with fresh strawberry bits, delicious! My wife asked them not to blend it too much because she likes it more thick and she loved her order as well. What was puzzling was the 1st3 times using my groupon, Ritters would punch my card and give me my glacier. Then recently they said that starting 2013 I would have to pay tax for the glacier. Anyhow, sounds like they dropped the ball and am passing the buck to their customers. It would be kind of expensive if you didn’t have a groupon or a promo.

Not bad, got the equivalent of a blizzard with Butterfinger bits in it and vanilla ice cream. Not a super huge fan of the custard(I would probably enjoy regular ice cream more) but I was pretty happy with what I got. Nice job guys.

Wow I didn’t remember them being this pricey. Their prices are ridiculous! The frozen custard is really good though. They have a lot of flavors to choose from. I had heath bar custard with Reese’s cups mixed in yum! They also sell Nathan’s hog dogs. Service is very slow and it took forever for the group ahead of us to order. There is only outdoor seating here so come on a nice sunny day.

I have a list of places I am required to go to when I am back in the Daytona area visiting. This is one of them. This time I was able to get the pumpkin custard, and just because I can, I added a scoop of birthday cake. Both were great. The service was quick the custard was awesome. I will be back next time I am in town.

God, this place is so good. While this Custard stand is a chain, this is the only Ritter’s location in the state of Florida — all of the rest are located in Indiana, Iowa, or some other state where frozen treat stands are only open a portion of the year. The name is a misnomer, though, since it is not really custard. It is more along the lines of French Vanilla with additional flavors. It is that additional egg that is added that gives it such a wonderful creaminess and the lack of infused air which helps give a compact and rich texture. They always have six fresh flavors«on tap» and many more in the freezer. I do enjoy the Vanilla and Chocolate but look forward to their Turtle flavor when it is made fresh. All seating is exterior, so feel free to bring the pups! On certain days, pups even get a free cup.
