Service was slow and horrible. I had fish and chips, the chips, what was of them, were hard and over cooked while the fish was over battered. My wife ordered a frozen margarita which came not too frozen, she also had crab legs which were passable, A friend who was with us also had fish and chips and had the same problem as me. We were hoping for a nice lunch without taking up too much time but it was so dissappointing. I will never go there in the future and will never recommend the Crab Shack to anyone.

Place sucks. Waited 5 minutes at the door with no acknowledgement. The waitress told us to seat ourselves. We did, waited 15 minutes for a server to ask us why we were sitting– they were short staffed and couldn’t serve anyone for at lest 15 minutes. Not gonna be open long we left and went across the street… Terrible way to do business

Its a cool place, right on the water that you can get to by boat. It has a neighborhood feel to it at the bar. But the food is just meh, ok. I had the seafood boil which had almost zero flavor. The shrimps were tiny(from being in the boil the entire time) and the crab leg shells were soft, again too long in the water. I thought the drinks were good and Emily is a good bartender but no matter how cute she is it didnt save the food. Fix the food and they’ll be a place that I’d love to come back to!

I certainly liked this place a lot… very laid back friendly servers and the food was very good… as far as people who complain about smokers well stop bitching, don’t you have enough places to go where people do not smoke? Cry baby whiner bitches!!!

Just found a gem in Port Richey. The only reason you didn’t get 5 stars is because there was a dog in the restaurant. Not a service dog either. But the food was excellent and the staff was friendly and very responsive. We had the onion rings; they were crispy and not at all oily. The crab cake sandwich was moist and filled with real crab not breading; what a delight. The grouper sandwich was hearty and fresh. Get a side of fries, they are delicious; cooked to perfection and again not oily at all. This is not a fancy place, but it has a very interesting atmosphere. Come for the food and a taste of the beach life.

My biggest down side to this place is that you can smoke inside. That’s the only reason it didn’t get a five star rating. The food was good, the service was relaxed like any other beach bar type place, and the music was hilariously awful. It’s a fun place to go have a meal, as long as you go with the mindset of it being a dive beach bar that serves awesome food.

Went here with my wife a couple days ago and it was terrible. First of all they gave my wife her salad with no silverware, then took almost 20 minutes for the server to come back and refill our drinks, also took them 45 minutes for our appetizer(which was fried gator bites they ahould only take 5 to 6 minutes). I will not be returning.

This place is exactly what I want a Florida restaurant to be like — dirt parking lot, wood floors, water view! The giant fake shark is a bonus! Good food, good service, casual atmosphere. My favorites are the fried pickles and all the other stuff they fry up!

The food was average. Service was a little on the slow side. It wouldn’t keep me from going back again. I will probably return.

Slow service. My food came came out cold. I ordered the scallops at 18.95USD. She said they would remake them. Then she came back and grabbed them. The put in microwave and they were still cold. No thanks. Last time for us.

Was not impressed at all! The appearance is very cute but food sucked! We ordered crab clusters and a fried crab came out. Gross. The waitress did feel bad and brought us out the clusters but they were full of water. The alligator nuggets were so greasy and just full of grissel. I will not be back to this place.

One star only because I can’t give none… I used to work there, no skill at all in the whole place, nobody knows what they’re doing at all. I figured I’d go in and get some dinner, it was as bad if not worse than when I worked there. Never again!

If you are going for the view this is the place. Food was usual waterfront food. Service was excellent and personable. IF you don’t like to dine among cigarette and cigar smoke then you would not like this restaurant. Smoking both inside and out and very smoky. Also dogs are allowed and they are rowdy and loud. We left because the barking was starting to get to us. Music was great.

Lost quite a few regular customers today. One and a half hour wait for simple food. Manager(found out it was owner) was horribly rude and did not care to make service right. People had been saying this place was going down and now I believe them. Their loss.

MAN I love this place. Well yeah the service was slow but it was worth the wait The onion rings are AWESOME. and behind you is a river with the wind blowing in your hair. And they are not RAW oysters they are fresh oysters. Overall this place is the bomb digity.

The Crab Shack looks great on paper. However, the service horrendously slow. I waited maybe 20 – 25 mins for a half dozen of oysters. Raw oysters The shack margarita, on the other hand, is pretty delicious. Nice pairing with the stone crabs. Too bad we had to doctor them up, though. No seasoning, and it only comes with butter. Added a little old bay seasoning and it made a difference. Unless you have to time to spare or you just want a deink, I wouldn’t suggest coming here.

We trusted Unilocal reviews and they did not let us down. This is a divey eclectic restaurant sitting on the river. The servers are really fast and friendly. We had the buffalo shrimp, the fried shrimp dinner and fish n chips. All shared the same light tasting but thick enough batter. The shrimp where large and all the seafood is sourced from Louisiana. Everything was super tasty and not greasy. The servings were large enough to fill up a teenager. And if you need more than food, the beer is cold and cheep.

Definitely should hit this place! Small dive bar from outside, golden on inside! All staff very personable and friendly… Grouper is the best I have ever had! Seriously… I love blackened grouper, but here, it is the best!!! Our party had everything from frog legs, captain dans meal, peel and eat shrimp, crab cakes, and did I mention the grouper? Only meal that wasn’t up to par were the crab cakes(unless you like a lot of filler)… Everything else delicious!!!

Just as we entered The Crab Shack, a rain storm hit that lasted a good hour and dumped a huge amount of water on the area. We were quite happy to spend the time there eating fresh seafood and drinking beer and sangria. The prices were great(our meal of the steam pot and a few drinks totaled around $ 55), the food was great, the music fun and relaxed, the staff was wonderful and attentive, and the atmosphere was something of a tiki hut /dive bar combo that felt perfect.
