I was first introduced to owner Wendy and her mother Brenda back in 2009. A friend invited me to a house party just before Christmas time, and I was able to complete my shopping for most of the ladies in my family for under $ 100 (okay, of course I bought myself several items, too!). Wendy’s story is truly inspiring. Having felt the strain of corporate America for far too long, Wendy (an auto mechanic’s wife and mother of two boys) decided to make use of the candle-​making equipment sitting in her garage that was left to her by her late grandfather, thus began Orchid Lake Candles & Soaps.
Every year, right before Christmas, I hold a house party for all of my lady friends. We wine and dine with each other while perusing through the latest OLC products, numerous products are ready to take home that day. Wendy offers over two hundred scents, many of which can be used to create custom products.

I love their fragrance oils, which is «burned» in a warmer — also available from OLC. They are your one-​stop-​shop for all accessories, too! Wendy has done her research when it come to which waxes, wicks, and oils make the best type of products, and it shows! I have never had to return any product due to disappointment or malfunction; although, OLC does offer a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee. Wendy offers in-​house parties and online catalog parties, both of which include hostess benefits, or you can donate your hostess reward credits to the charity of your choice! Her prices are second to none, and I can never pay the prices at other home fragrancing and body shops again. My family members love and look forward to receiving their OLC each year, and I love using them for birthday and shower gifts, too.

Thanks to Wendy and OLC, our home smells like an apple orchard (from their «Macintosh Apple» scent) — my signature go-​to scent, or «cranberry marmalade» during the holidays. Some products have come and gone over the years, but it’s just Wendy doing her job as she determines what works and doesn’t work for her customers — a true business owner. Many more long and successful years to OLC, a Port Richey secret but hopefully not for long!
