This is like a puzzle addicts crack house. Lol. So many Ravensburg and other wonderful puzzles. The woman said they are getting Photomosaics soon. Will be going back when funding is being kinder to me.

We had a very negative and unpleasant experience at this store. We purchased two games from them as gifts for our nephews/nieces and then, giving it more thought, we decided they weren’t the best gift in this case. We took the games back to the store two days later(unopened and never out of the bag) to return them for a refund and were told very definitively that they don’t give refunds, only exchanges. We were very surprised because: 1) There was no sign to that effect prominently displayed in the store. 2) We were not told verbally at the time of purchase that there were no returns. 3) We were not given a paper receipt and were told(not asked) that they were emailing us the receipt, so we did not actually see it until we got home and printed it out. At that point, it would have been too late even if we saw the information then. When we tried to return the games, we were still unaware of the return policy because it did not show up on our printed receipt. We were told by the owner that the«no returns» did not appear on our printed receipt because it was cut off the bottom of the sheet when we printed it(which was probably correct). As we learned later, all it says is «Return policy: exchanges welcomed.» It says nothing specifically about«no returns». The owner was very rude to us about it when we insisted that without notice of a «no returns» policy, she should not refuse us the return option, but she was absolutely adamant that she would not consider it under any circumstances. We pointed out to her that this was not a smart way to treat first time(local) customers, but she would not budge an inch. Of course, we will never do business at this store again and we would recommend to anyone else that they do the same.

What’s completely puzzling– is this store! Are you kidding me?! We popped in as we enjoy a game from time to time and were walking Water Street for something different so figured why not. We weren’t looking for anything, but other folks were. I was surprised by how many people came through here in the short time we were browsing. Someone came in and asked if they had Cards Against Humanity– naturally since its one of the most popular party games out at the moment. The woman behind the counter was shocking! First it was bad enough that she was pointing folks to what they were looking for rather than leaving her perch behind the counter– but her response to the Cards Against Humanity question was completely over the top. She is unable to stock it because the makers do not wholesale, and do not really have it being sold in stores. Its one of those things you just really have to get online– which btw might have been a perfectly acceptable answer. Instead this woman went on a full-on tirade about the makes of Cards Against Humanity and how they are irresponsible and don’t know what they are doing. She also told the person who asked a lot of misinformation– that they could not get it on amazon, that it was a $ 100 card game, etc… and really went off about what a rip off of Apples to Apples it is and how she did not feel that the makers of the game ought to be selling it at all. First off– giving false information about a product just because 1) everybody wants it and 2) you don’t sell it… is wrong. I corrected her and let the other customer know that I had just bought it from Amazon for $ 25. Second, if the business model that the makers of a game choose to go with is so terrible– why is that everyone I know has it, we have it, we also have the expansion packs, and will continue to buy them… Fine, its really only available online. This is true– but she could buy it at retail prices online and sell it for more– if she weren’t completely puzzled that is! Lastly, the full tirade that she went into was completely unprofessional! It was very negative and really pretty venomous– its unsurprising all things considered that despite how many folks came in while we were there– she didn’t sell a thing! Frankly I am completely puzzled how this place is still here! Let me tell you which business model is going to work better lady– cause the Cards Against Humanity folks are making money hand over fist while you are scaring people off and doing nothing but watch them leave your store.

I really am not a gambler. In fact, I’ve only really gambled a couple of times in my life… I bought ZAP stock and it proceeded to decline.(I still feel good about the green investment.) Another time, I thought I’d become a well paid corporate attorney. Yep, did my time in law school, did my time clerking…*but* wasn’t willing to hang my personality on a coat rack at the door.(And trust me, I was a round peg in a square hole.) I lost *that* gamble but still feel good about the educational investment as it taught me how to play hacky-sack with words. I love«Completely Puzzled.» So do a lot of other folks, I’ll wager. In a town where merchants come’n go… in an economic climate where businesses dive off the ferry dock with regularity… in a place where the only legitimate Chain is a jewelry repair shop(and one of a kind as it *will* repair chains, watches, or whatever…) «Completely Puzzled» endures… year in and year out. Chess, backgammon, Monopoly. Anti-Monopoly. It sells everything. (Even to old people… speaking of stereotypes. I am old, Ms. Rowena M. and I do not gamble. WTF! Broke your stereotype, I did. But I forgive you. We oldsters do, you know. Forgive. Forget. Mostly forget.) I bought a world globe on my last visit to the store. LIttle bitty pieces, which need to be pieced together to complete the stand-alone sphere. Many of the continents were easy to assemble. North America was a snap. Alaska, the Bering Straits, Russia… not a problem. Various islands and archepelagos were assembled in an evening. Africa… that vast and wonderful continent, took me a bit longer as I was unfamiliar with some of the new names. But…the oceans, oh my… they gave a lot of trouble. Antarctica was okay, as was the Arctic. I blush to disclose, that I used the numbers on the back of the pieces to assemble most of the water… I mean, what are numbers for, if not to give one a sense of completion… and I really could not have distinguished one watery blue piece from the next without looking at the numbers. So…if numbers talk, and they do…“Completely Puzzled” is a successful enterprise. In a town that could use a few more successful enterprises this holiday season. But don’t just believe this review. Go check out the store yourself. And buy yourself a piece of the dream. We are reassembling the world one(puzzle) piece at a time. And, if you aren’t part of the solution, you are definitely part of the puzzle… IMH(and old) O

Yeah, apparently they’re totally puzzled in this joint. The woman working in this store was listening to a conversation between my boyfriend and I because we were joking about Mahjong and how the old folks gamble when they play. She apparently was amused – «She’s Chinese! Of course she gambles!» WTF!!! I’m Filipina. And that’s a hell of a stereotype she’s reinforcing there. I suppose I could have corrected her rather than simply giving her the dragon stare, but somehow I think she’s one of those types who thinks that all Asians look alike. Is there a zero-star rating on this thing? Oh, did you want to know about the games in this store? They had an expanded scrabble set with 400 instead of 200 tiles, and a larger board. $ 70. I’ll order it online from somewhere else.
