This store seems to specialize in antiquarian technical books: medical, engineering, science, and so forth. This is exactly what I’m after, so it was a match made in heaven. If your taste is like mine, you will want to check out this store if you’re ever in Port Townsend. It is a superb little spot that I could spend hours lost in. In addition to the technical books, it had a great selection of antiquarian books on other subjects. I spotted vintage children’s books, classics, and poetry. There’s a small selection of truly antiquarian books(prior to 1700) in Latin and Greek, as well. I need to go back to do quite a bit more digging around. The owner of the store is very pleasant to converse with. It’s true that she prefers cash over credit cards, but as a small business I can’t blame her at all. Credit card processing takes a big chunk of every transaction for the merchant.

This a cool store, however the woman working here is extremely rude. I tried to buy something that I was really excited about for $ 10 and was told by the lady working there, «Oh, no. I wouldn’t run your card for anything less than $ 20. It isn’t even worth my time.» She was incredibly rude when I was trying to give her my money. Don’t even plan on going in here unless you’re going to spend at least $ 20 because you will be WASTINGHERTIME.

When in Port Townsend: If you like older books, this is the bookstore for you. Give yourself time to browse, as it is dense. I have found many great reference books here. Store proprietor, Karen Graham is very knowledgeable and friendly. Books are appropriately priced for their value. Whenever I visit Port Townsend, it is a major attraction for me.

This little gem of a bookstore is perfect for Port Townsend. It is located a block off the main strip, next to an automobile museum/store. The bookstore itself has many, many old books. The owner also tends to sell/co-sign items from estates in the area. It’s a tiny place, but I could sit there for days and admire all the old literature. I’m definitely going back!
