Metro Bagels

Their bagels are pretty mediocre, honestly. They’re small and hard. Nothing special, but edible nevertheless. The customer service is also mediocre. Nothing about this places exceeds expectations. They need to hire more people, too. Preferably girls who can speak clearly as the brown haired girl who helped me today mumbled questions to me and openly complained about the other people who work there. Nice.
The place needs a good, deep cleaning as there are cob webs everywhere and cracked paint and crapped up countertops.

First of all: great bagels. I haven’t gotten one just by itself yet, but on the sandwiches they are nice and soft on the inside with a great crust. Second of all: amazing chai latte. I don’t know what they use, a mix or what, but it’s so good. Third of all: Great people. Just simply amazing. The customer service makes me want to come back rather than the food and drink — and they are good people I can tell not just to deliver «good customer service» but genuinely care about others. My car broke down in their parking lot and every single one of the workers that day jumped to search their car for cables to jump me — no hesitation whatsoever. I really appreciate a place that has workers that care about you and obviously that has great tasting food. I really can’t get enough of their breakfast sandwiches.
Edit to add: the chocolate chip cookies are pretty perfect. Not crunchy (hate them that way) and more of a malty flavor than just straight up sugary.

Awesome service with a tasty bagel selection in a cute setting, what more do you need?

Great food, a great place.

My family always picks up bagels from here when we come to town for the holidays each year. Everyone seems to really love the bagels and appreciate the size and variety of flavors offered.
Unfortunately, I cannot personally review the bagels because I am vegan and the bagels are brushed with an egg wash. I love bagels and I wish I could partake in them.

Service wasn’t that great and the bagel selection wasn’t that great either. The two girls serving me actually seemed annoyed to have a customer. Didn’t make me want to come back…

No trip to Port Townsend is complete without a stop at Metro Bagels! Today I had a Parmesan bagel with the bacon red onion spread and it was amazing. The service is always great, the restaurant is always clean, and I’ve never had a bagel I didn’t like. Easy 5-​star award.

Excellent bagels. They are rather small but taste delicious. As someone from the New York/​new jersey area originally these bagels match what I remember from back home.

Love love love this place! The bagels are delicious and not skimpy on toppings. Their cream cheese smears are also to die for. Go for the bacon and red onion!
For sandwiches I get the club. The bacon is thick cut and they have several cheese options to pick from. I always get pepper jack.
The coffee is also great. All in all, this is a great spot for breakfast and lunch (closes at 2 pm).

The absolute best bagels, lovely cream cheeses, and sandwich fillings. Great local cookies and coffee drinks too. The folks behind the counter are also the nicest ever. Great, clean little spot we love to lunch at whenever we are in the south end of PT.

Rolled into town wanting to fill that hollow hole left by the drive. Cream cheese bagels were the perfect thing to hit the spot.

. We tried the everything bagel and an onion bagel. They both came with actual sauteed onions on top which was very unique (and delicious)! The service and the coffee were equally awesome. If I lived in this cute little town, I would be at Metro Bagels every day!

I love a good bagel with the fixings plus a latte that has been drawn with pride. The other day I tried this place out for the first time and was impressed all to hell! The barista/​owner that waited on me, was drawing coffee from their espresso machine, he not liking the results and then dumping it out, getting fresh grounds and trying it over again. He did this three times! When I got the latte, I was so impressed with the quality! I don’t know about you folks, but I don’t mind paying a good price for a quality product, such as a well pulled latte, but I’ll complain every time I pay and get crap! I consider myself a connoisseur of good coffee. You will not go wrong by frequenting this place, I guarantee you that. And, their bagels are great too!

Prominently located beside a round-​about, you can’t miss Metro Bagels when you visit Port Townsend.
Metro Bagels have been in Port Townsend for about a year. I’ve never been because I am a loyal Bob’s Bagels customer (see my other review). However, Bob’s Bagels can only be found on the weekends while Metro is open every day of the week — the factor which led me to their door this morning.
From my first impression, I already like this place and its people. The guys behind the counter are gregarious and charming. The interior used corrugated steel, warm colors and wood to create an inviting space. Plus they just added a seating area.
I ordered a lox everything-​bagel and a tall split-​shot soy latte. The bagel was delicious Sadly, they were out of decaf and soymilk. Normally, this would have docked them another star or two, but one of the fellows literally SPRINTED out of the door into the snow and blistering wind to retrieve more soymilk. They comped me with a little black coffee while I waited. Excellent customer service.
The coffee they use is Batdorf & Bronson, made in Olympia, WA. The black coffee wasn’t my favorite, but the latte was delicious.
I was looking for a delicious, warm and quick breakfast this morning and I found it at Metro Bagels. 4 stars!

On a recent visit to the Port Townsend area we passed this bagel shop’s corner location. When we drove past the outdoor area we filled with bicyclists and others munching on bagels and sipping coffee. We thought the food must be great to draw that crowd.
When we later saw Metro Bagels had a stand at the Chimicum farmers market we couldn’t pass on the opportunity to try their food.

Bagels so good we went back and got more. The cream cheese spreads we tried were unique as well as delicious (pretty sure the bacon and red onion spread has changed my life). The lox sandwich got rave reviews from our group too. Best of all, the bagels are so tasty by themselves. Chewy and rich with flavor but not too heavy and thick.
I’m absolutely saddened that there is a ferry ride separating me and their sea salt bagel. But I know it would be worth the trip.
