This was a good spot for a light lunch. Lovely atmosphere, great food, good service. It was a little on the pricey side, but good none the less.

Lovely bakery-café with bike parking. I enjoyed a prosciutto Brie sandwich with a side of fruit. I was excited to have a fruit cup of berries, but had to take a star off because they didn’t look washed(I rubbed some dirt off) and a few had mold spots. Espresso was good — drinks are nine oz for small, twelve for large both have two shots. It seemed a little different from other coffee shops where 12 oz is small… maybe it’s just an American thinking that it’s small. Also, they key lime cookies were really good! I like this place and would gladly return!

This was amazing!!! I had the wrapped sausage thing, the borough donuts were yummy. The service was quick and efficient, I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy the cute ambiance. The only reason I wouldnt give it 5 stars is because the coffee was bad, and I mean bad! It taste waxy and I wish I had tasted it while still in the store. I would go back in a heartbeat!

Nice location and building. Limited selection and somewhat over priced. I bought a loaf of sourdough bread, and it was about $ 5. They sliced it and put it in a fancy paper gift bag. Unfortunately they did not include a plastic bag to store the bread and the paper gift bag had no way to seal or close to keep the bread fresh. Other shops like Breadsmith and Panera send you out with the proper bag. Also, donuts run about $ 2.50EACH. Plus they only have 2 or 3 kind to choose from. The donuts were nothing special, and cost about 3x the average bakery(Usually about $.80−1.20 at most bakeries). Most of the bread loaves run about $ 5 – 8 and looked small compared to other bread stores. Lastly, you have to sign with your finger on a touchscreen, which is pretty gross. UPDATE: Due to the detailed and helpful response from the owner, I am elevating the review from 2 to 3 stars. Clearly a lot of people like it here, and in retrospect, the quality of the food was good, and the location was very clean. $ 5 for bakery bread is not out of line until you notice the small size of some loaves, and anything above ‘basic’ can get pricey(I believe I saw a few for $ 8 or $ 9!). I think the explanation from the owner makes sense and is understandable, and worth another visit. I will reiterate that the overall prices are a little high compared to other bakeries(as other reviews confirm) and my comments reflected the higher prices with expecting a higher standard accordingly. Nonetheless I hope they succeed and I will reconsider the rating on my return visit.

Love it! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was wonderful. I got the BAT breakfast sandwich which had two eggs thick cut bacon cheese and the yummiest homemade bread roll. I went back for seconds and got a brioche doughnut. Which was just as good!

I had lunch and breakfast this past Thursday and Saturday. The lunch special on Thursday I had was Belgian Stew and it was outstanding like no other stew I’ve eaten before. Had the over easy bacon sandwich on Saturday it was good but the eggs are served over hard. The bread and pastries are excellent. Would like some vanilla non-sweet vanilla flavoring for my latte. Enjoy

Delicious melt in your mouth quiche. Coffee simply amazing. Rishi teas were yummy. Breakfast nap was absolutely fresh and flavorful. Delicious scones, cookies and more. As Chicagoans we miss a great bakery like this!

Great place to have breakfast, the egg sandwich was perfect, fresh«just baked» bread with a flavor of home made. The smell in the mornings invited you to eat one of the delicious cookies!

Not a whole lot of menu variety but what they have is excellent. Tried both breakfast and lunch. A tad pricey but I’m not gonna complain based in the food quality. Great atmosphere. We had to walk out one day because there was no seating. The one thing I will say is their signature breakfast sandwich lives up to the hype. Probably the best I’ve ever had. So you MUST order the Breakfast BAP.

Loved this place we where in town for business and our hotel was right down the street. We got lucky to find it the first day and ate here four mornings in a row. Great baked goods and amazing breakfast bap sandwich. Our last day here it was –5 and we still made the walk up the street. Such a great place closed Monday thru Wednesday

A combination of being from out of town and being extremely hungry led me to stumble upon this place after finishing up some business at City Hall one summer day. Upon walking in, I was immediately impressed by the well-appointed interior and super friendly, super polite staff. I ordered an iced coffee(good) and breakfast bap on recommendation from the cashier. She described the bap as your typical(British) breakfast sandwich complete with meat, eggs, and cheese, so I wasn’t expecting much. Welp, I was wrong! This sandwich is so delicious I often have daydreams about it, and will occasionally drag my husband out to Port Washington to enjoy a sandwich of my own and maybe a bite of his. The sandwich consists of a house-baked Scotch mist roll, two eggs your way, thick bacon from Bernie’s meats, and a slice of sharp cheddar. That’s it! Luxurious simplicity. Their other offerings follow this same motif of being simple but beautifully executed. In particular I am also a fan of the pan au chocolat, aka bread and chocolate. Who can argue with that? I will absolutely be coming back and telling everyone I know about this lovely little place.

What a great find for lunch in downtown PW! My family shared various sandwiches/soups/breads followed by a few cookies and coffees. Delicious healthy food, refreshments and desert in a historic, restored furniture store with lots of charm(and great light) for ~$ 12/person, a great quality to value ratio. The owner was super nice and helpful in describing the food/breads available when we arrived. Of note, the bread starter they use is from the UK(ie: non-GMO) and most ingredients are sourced locally from nearby producers/farms in SE Wisconsin and/or organic. Will definitely be going back when I’m in town and looking for bread/breakfast/lunch!

The bloom seems to be off the rose. Grilled Cheese sandwich was made with raw bacon. Then to add insult to injury, no one checked on us during the meal, and we sat a long time hoping someone would(you pay and tip in advance here).

The place has a nice ambience, but what really matters to me is the food – and it’s really good. I warily eyed the bakery section and promised myself I was only getting a sandwich and no dessert. I had the prosciutto sandwich on a baguette and chose that day’s soup(tomato) as my side. Both were delicious, but be warned that there’s a lot of bread on the sandwich – I ended up having to eat the second half open-faced because my mouth got tired! My resolve regarding dessert faltered, and I ordered a brioche donut with chocolate buttercream filling and cinnamon sugar on the outside. Oh my god. I had a few bites and then had to go to a meeting. I spent the whole meeting thinking about the donut, and devoured the rest as soon as I got back to the car. My coworker had had a morning bun, and we both had to exercise a lot of self control in order not to go back and get more delicious, delicious baked goods. The icing on the cake(ha, ha) is the quality of the ingredients and the fact that nothing gets thrown out at the end of the day – all extra food gets donated. If I’m ever back in Port Washington, I will absolutely be back.

Amazing! The only thing better than the food is the people that work there. I had the BLT and chicken chili and it was outstanding. Marie Ann really took her time and showed us all her wonderful products and how they make such delicious bread. Everything is local and fresh down to the fresh roasted and grounded coffeeThe pride in their business shines through in their delicious food.

The 5 stars couldn’t have been more right! We went here today for lunch and were blown away by the environment, owner, and beyond delicious food and treats. The soup was truly the best I’ve ever had and the house salad with ridiculously good tasting dressing is something I can’t wait to have again. I’m inspired by this husband and wife team and the passion they have for quality food with quality ingredients — and working with local farms and a women’s nonprofit to make an impact. Who wouldn’t want to eat good food made by great people?

Is this place for real? If so, can you please open another one closer to Milwaukee? I promise I’ll come in every day and buy stuff. Our loot: pecan bar — huge, delicious, caramely pecany amazingness. Scone of the day — ginger, pear, white chocolate. They didn’t warn us about the anise in it, but we managed to choke it down in 2.1 seconds and then drive back to see if they had any more(sadly, they did not). Can’t wait to try the blackberry, strawberry and white chocolate muffin(red, white and blue), pecan brownie, fig and walnut bread and another pecan bar. Did I mention the pecan bars? I guess my waistline is fortunate that I don’t live any closer.

We just finished a wonderful lunch at the Daily Baking Company. I had the smoked salmon salad sandwich, and I could not have made a better one myself! The salmon had a great flavor;was light and flaky. My girl had the broscuito sandwich, and judging by her multiple mmmmmmmms, she loved it. Super nice people, great little bistro table on the sidewalk, beautiful sunny day, great food and service … does it get any better? If you’re in Port Washington, stop

The food is amazing. I had the egg salad. Very tasty. The shrimp and crispy romaine lettuce made it complete. I highly recommend it. The owners were very friendly.
