I live in Port Washington and have eaten her a handful of times. I liked the free chips but truly a little sprinkle of salt right when they come out of the fryer would kick them up a few notches. My daughter order the wet ribs — she didn’t really like them at all. I ordered the buffalo soldiers which were always my favorite, this time they were different tasted like old rotisserie chicken was used and they were served at a barely warm room temperature not hot. my other daughter got the wings which i didn’t care for at all, they were soggy at $ 1 per wing I expected a lot better. my mom ordered the burger which had a decent flavor. Over all I probably won’t be going back — its a shame because there are not a huge amount of options in PW

We’re new to port Washington and still finding our«go to» spots, and I’m happy to say this will be one of them. Nice atmosphere, attentive waiter, and many successes in the food. The complimentary chips and dip were delicious(other reviewers complained about lack of salt, well then use the salt shaker on your table!). We ordered«small» salads to start which were very generously sized(brought half home). I had the skirt steak which was perfectly cooked and flavorful. Husband had the brisket and ribs combo. Ribs were very tasty, brisket not so much, very dry. A lot of people complain about the chicken dishes, which I can’t comment on, but the red meats were tasty. One suggestion– the portions are very large, we brought half out entrees home too. Cut size back and then you can cut meal prices too, more in line with a suburban casual restaurant. We will be back

What a waste… Buyer beware. They don’t know bbq from kfc. The chicken was roasted plain and dry and bland and then tossed in «their» bbq sauce-that was virtually tasteless. No attention paid to the meat, no rub or overnight marinade, I didn’t eat because the chicken was so dry. My husband got the brisket and pulled chicken and it was so dry he had to keep saucing it. If you’re a bbq spot and you offer Mac and cheese-have legit Mac and cheese-no Italian Gemelli pasta w/cheese fondu sauce. The best part of the lunch was the home made chips at the beginning(and even those were void of salt and flavor) …and they were served with the cheese fondu sauce from said Mac and Cheese. It’s upsetting because we came from Huntington –choosing to travel west rather than trying another spot out east. This was a waste of an afternoon and money. I’m realllly disappointed.

We used to love Harbor Q but the love affair is over. Today the pulled chicken was tough and seemed like it was cooked separately and tossed in bbq sauce. we left half our food and the waitress never checked to see how our lunch was. Also, the music was awful, like they stole the Duane Reade playlist.

I’ve never had a chance to dine in, only order out. The food is kinda mediocre and expensive for what it is. It’s not bad, just kinda boring.

I live in Port Washington and have only recently dined here a few times. I’ve read some of the negative reviews and did not share in their experience. As a matter of fact, I really like this place. The service was great, especially from Maria. She was very attentive and I make sure to ask for her every time. A couple of negative reviews was on the pulled chicken sandwich but I never had it. As someone who has frequently gone out to restaurants, I know that not everything on a menu will be great and have learned to use Unilocal and trial and error to order what’s recommended. I have ordered the Texas wings and they are great! They are not deep fried(which is unique) and they have a nice dry spice rub. I have ordered their burgers a few times and they are the best in town. They are big, cooked to perfection and are made from a high quality meat. St. Louis ribs are more juicy than the baby back. Chili is very tasty and filling. French fries taste like they are fresh cut and cooked in good oil. Sweet potato fries were crispy. They give you complimentary chips and dip for the table. The owners were very friendly and from the area. Bottles of wine are reasonably priced and I like their craft beer. This has become one of my favorite places in Town.

The food here was the absolute worst I’ve had in a long, long, time. Tasteless dried out pulled chicken sandwich on a soggy bun with gross mashed potatoes and solidified BBQ sauce in a cup. This place is a complete joke, cannot believe they are still in business.

Truly awful barbecue food. Picked up two pulled chicken sandwiches with my sister– the most generous commentary I can give the food is that it somewhat resembles and tasted of chicken. Bonus– super soggy old lukewarm corn on the Cobb. Please avail yourself of hickories, which is just up the street on port boulevard, if you desire quality barbecue. As I write this, I notice that my cat has rejected the pulled chicken which I attempted to feed her. This is a first for our household. Cheers, Adam

Great pork shank. Amazing Gorgonzola sauce and chips. Apricot sauce on shank was amazing.

I went for lunch, having previously dined here. It’s close to home and convenient. In the past, two weeks ago, I ordered a combo platter consisting of two beef ribs and two sides. I tried to order it for lunch to share with a friend. I was told that it’s no longer on the menu. So, I ordered pork belly. The waitress came over with a pathetic BS expression, telling me more bad luck. We don’t have any. In truth, there was nothing else on the menu that I wanted. I ordered mac and cheese. It was beyond cheesy but tasted like glue. Again the waitress appeared with the sad sack face, inquiring, «Didn’t you like it?» I politely said no. Not an offer or conversation if I wanted something else. But sure enough the check was presented for my friend’s meal and the disgusting mac and cheese. Once again, the pathetically uncaring words-have a good weekend. Really? Stay away from this place, not worth the price for adequate food. Go somewhere else.

This place is under new management now, and it has decreased in quality significantly. The chicken sandwich I had tasted bland, and the french fries they gave me were even worse. Not eating here again.

Delicious St. Louis ribs and Texas(smoked, not deep fried) wings. Decent selection of local craft beer. Clean interior, limited parking. Professional yet friendly server. Speedy service. Fair prices. Will definitely return.

Pretty damn good… for Long Island. The pulled pork sandwich was tender, moist and«well pulled»…but a bit lacking in flavor. I had to add some sauce to perk it up(I recommend the California Tangy Gold). But, the place is comfortable, clean and pleasant and the service was excellent. The next time I’m up in «The Port» I’ll check this place out again.

My first experience with the BBQ joint was when they first opened… I wasn’t really impressed. Atmosphere is good, some of the tables are a little tight and there is enough parking, but it’s pricey compared to say Famous Dave’s(Westbury) or Smokin Al’s(Massapequa) and in my opinion the food is at least a notch below those places. So I decided that I wanted ribs since I was watching that Barbecue Masters show one afternoon. I didn’t feel like driving to the other places, so I checked online and it said it was under new ownership, so I decided to try it out again… Well it’s the same food and owner as before. Don’t see myself going again. it’s a shame cause it could be a great lil BBQ place but it is what it is. Almost forgot… I have never seen a BBQ place have brunch before, so I guess times are tough for them.

New owners… Hanging on to a few of the loyL staff Our waitress new, needs work. Heres a novel idea, get a paper and pen when taking an order. Food still seems consistent, a tad dissapointed in the mac n cheese We love this place amazing chicken, ribs, pork shank.

Don’t really know if this is good or bad: caught them at lunch with nobody in the place. Waitress was really nice, complimentary potato chips with a nice cheese dip. Ordered the brisket platter which was just«meh.» I think if I went for dinner it would be a better deal. Don’t write them off on this review. I’d try them again, but for dinner.

Love this place! I get the chips and fondue at least once every other week. Too damn addicting! Cute atmosphere and the water is righty across. Perfect for eating and then going to the dock to watch the water and sunset. Love the bacon cheeseburgers, so delicious. The wait staff is super friendly and make it a pleasant experience. I just wish they would stay open later! I definitely love late night dinners and I feel like this would be the perfect atmosphere and food for that. But I’m not complaining because they are still amazing. Definitely check this place out!

In reference to user Harvey K’s post — the dining experience was a mixed bag. The food was generally fine but it was annoying that one group of kids who arrived for a World Cup game were allowed to act as if it were there own living room. I get that this is a family restaurant but still the lack of a clue by the parents but also the wait staff was ridiculous The waitress was indeed overwhelmed — visibly so. However, we realized this and dealt with it. I personally put down in cash a majority of the bill and my company covered the balance. All with a 20 percent tip fully counted out. The waitress flags is down in the parking lot making us feel like deadbeats. So now it’s our word against hers. We lost and when we called to speak with the manager the person on the phone said they were busy. So here I am on Unilocal letting everyone know. If you go to this restaurant DONOT leave your money on the table. Be sure to hand it to the waitstaff or risk be chased after in the parking lot!

My hubsand and I went for his birthday last week. We ordered their briskit quesadillas for an appetizer which were delicious! Everything we got for dinner, 2 combos were moist and the best part… large portions. We both ordered ribs, my husband the pulled pork and I got the pork. No complaints and two days later I am still nibbling on my leftovers. For desert we both had the warm chocolate molten… i would give it 2 stars. However, the couple next to us got the bacon desert(a special) which is massive and looked really delicious.
