smash burger is a good place to grab a burger, but not a great place. the pros: Their milk shakes are great. Their«smash fries» are some of the best in the business too. I prefer them to other«fast food» locations. Their crispy chicken sandwich is also a treat. the cons: the burgers are just fair. The meat is very loosely packed, and it tends to fall apart after a few bites especially with heavy toppings. They also package their burgers and sandwiches in plastic containers to go. This results in a few problems. The containers are very deep, and its hard to take the burger out of it without everything sliding around. They also have no vents, so steam quickly builds up and the bun becomes wet and soggy. It makes for a very unpleasant experience unless you’re eating directly at the restaurant. This location is pretty good though. The staff is friendly and do a good job getting the food out fast.

Smashburger is one of my favorite burger spots, but this location(which used to be my go-to) lost my vote the last two times I came here. I like that Smashburger has juicy varieties and accommodates those with a gluten allergy(Gluten-free buns available.) However, the last time I was here, the tables weren’t serviced, the prices on the board didn’t match what they charged, my burger wasn’t cooked all of the way, and the grease from the fries leaked out. I couldn’t even eat them. The time before that, the location was so cold that everyone was wearing coats and scarves while they ate. People requested the heat be turned on, but it wasn’t. Our burgers and fries were immediately cold within minutes. We just left. I don’t think I’m going to return for the third time.

The food is never a disappointment. The burgers are juicy and moist. The shakes are yummy especially the Oreo one. They put on what you want and you get to create your own burger

Love they have the salad options. The spinach goat cheese salad is fantastic. So is the truffle mushroom Swiss burger and the salted caramel shake. Roomy renovated décor. This may sound like a minor thing, but the salad bowls are really cool.

With all the positive things I’ve heard about Smashburger, I was excited to finally try it. Just as I walked in, I was greeted by menus at the doors, perfect for first-timers and people who don’t like squinting at fine print behind the register. I ordered the BBQ, bacon, and cheddar burger, some sweet potato fries, and an Oreo milkshake, and paid a reasonable price for it. The burger was delicious, yet very oily, and the sweet potato fries had way too much salt. However, I didn’t get one thing: the Oreo milkshake. More than 15 minutes pass, I go up to the cashier to inquire about my shake. She said a coworker of her’s was making it at that time. As I attempt to wait patiently, I see other tables around ours, receiving full meals AND milkshakes. Though I understand that the waiter/cashier forgets an order now and then, 30 minutes pass, and she glares at me with a «You gotta be kidding me» look. Finally, after more than 40 minutes after placing my order, I get a cup to go. Not my ideal burger joint… (2.5)

If a 50’s burger joint got way into being hipster, you’d have smash burger. This is one of those places where you place your order and they give you a little number thing for your table for a waiter to bring it to your table. I’m not he biggest fan of this style bc I could just walk the 5 feet myself, but it is a little bit of a novelty. The burger patties are very thin and cooked kinda like a dry version of a McDonald’s hamburger. They make up for the patty with great topping choices though. The fires are the best value. Also super thin, even thinner than McDonald’s, and their toppings are amazing. Usually around $ 2 – 3. So if your in the mood for just fries, this could be a great stop off. They took the cleanliness factor and dialed it up to 11. This place is very clean for a burger joint. Depending on how busy it is it may take a little while to get your food though. And often there are tons of small kids and teens.

I’m not a fan of burgers, but this one was actually quite good. I would defiantly recommend my friends to try. The service is surprisingly good for a fast food establishment. The menu had beer, that was cool.

I would really love to give 3.5 stars but since there’s no option for that, I’m going to lean more towards the 3 than the 4. I stopped in for lunch fairly later than usual and definitely later than the typical lunch crowd(probably closer to 3:00). There were about 7 tables with people already eating their food, there was no line and(or maybe this should be BUT) there was one girl on the register who was busy/preoccupied taking a phone order. I wouldn’t have minded so much if she actually acknowledged that I was standing there but she kept trying to avoid eye contact with me and it seems the person on the other end of the phone was in on the joke too, as they kept adding items to their order and changing their order and then deciding they wanted to give a cc #… Again, I could have, would have overlooked this but there were other workers kind of milling about and 2 managers on duty, 1 who also didn’t acknowledge me until he saw the other girl was STILL on the phone. Mind you, I had been standing there for 7 minutes by this point(yes, I timed it). Finally he tells another girl to get on the register and she takes my order. Even after I spelled my name for her(for the receipt ticket), she still spelled it wrong *smh*. Whatever… I got my burger and cheese fries to go, which came out really fast actually. While I was waiting, however I did notice that it smelled rather sour inside the restaurant. I’m attributing it to reused rags to wipe down the tables. Here’s the funny part: I have become so familiar with processed cheese sauce on fries that I was actually taken aback when I got back to work and realized they put REAL, melted cheese on the fries! This would’ve been great except for a few things: by the time I got to back to my desk, the cheese wasn’t as hot which meant it was just a big clump, it wasn’t spread and melted evenly over the fries-it was just kinda plopped in the middle, and the fries were cold and greasy so I couldn’t really enjoy it. The burger toppings and bun were great but the actual patty was kind of bland. I don’t know if this is specific to this location or indicative of the growing Smashburger brand. I’ve had it previously a few times before and it was delicious, was looking forward to trying this location too… oh well :(

Located on Port blvd, parking is behind the building. Love there burgers and smash fries. Washes down good with a vanilla shake. This location is very loud and always has a lot of kids. I don’t mind it though because I’m one of those with a loud niece with me when I go. This is my goto burger spot while in Port

Everything seems a little bit more haphazard here. Smashburger is one of my favorite burger chains to date, and everything here just seemed a little bit below par from other locations I have tried. I was served burgers that had the patty falling out of my hands, and they were swimming in oil(no joke, there was a puddle of oil underneath the burger that seeped through the napkin as well). And the smash fries, which I usually eat without abandon in regards to the oil content(yes, I know they’re soaked in olive oil, but they’re too delicious to pass up), I hardly touched. I just felt like there was something missing. They just tasted so normal here… which is not a good thing. It kind of sucks because the cashier was so nice and friendly. Hopefully this chain improves so I can come back for my Smashburger fix whenever I find myself in Long Island.

Gave this place another shot and… Had a very different experience this time… The burger was very good, tasted fresh and came out quickly. The fries were still ok(I’m not really a shoestring fries fan). This is a big turnaround from before. The downside was nobody was at the counter taking orders when I came in, so I had to wait a minute or two to get there attention. Also it wasn’t exactly dirty but the table could have used a wipe down. Or I could have been less lazy and walked to a cleaner one :). Ultimately your coming here for the food, and the burgers were good so… I will be back…

Very unsatisfying. The burgers are small, so you’ll still be hungry after. Also the meat is not well seasoned. It just taste like grocery store Burger. The toppings don’t have much flavor. The fries are okay, but overall I do not think I will be coming back

Came here because my friend told me it was better than shake shack, however i disagree with him. I got glassic smash, the meat was not as juicy as shake. The vegetables in it was hard to hold, which was a big minus. The whole burger tasted alright.(It was my first meal of the day, too.) i also got smash fries, its extremely oily, and it tasted plain, with a salty taste.

Absolutely nothing to brag about with this place. If you’re going to cheat and eat fattening food there are way better burger places to eat at. Bear burger Shake shack and five guys blow this place away! It’s similar to Burger King…

Five Guys is better. OK? I said it. So’s Bareburger. Alright? Sue me. But SmashBurger ain’t terrible. Good fries and milkshakes. Burger is ok. If you need a burger, are in front of them and they are open. OK.

Being in Port Washington is like being in a desert of affordable greasy food. Yes, there are plenty of nice restaurants and diners, but there aren’t many places that cater to the hungry teenager or the hungover twenty-something. Unfortunately, even though you would think Smashburger would be swarmed with this specific demographic, it is often filled with families with younger children. This place gets too busy for its own good. On the weekends it is populated by loud children and screaming parents. Dirty tables are abound, and you’ll be hard-pressed to find a seat that’s actually clean. I’ve never really had to wait too long on line, but the food sometimes takes as long as a regular restaurant. The service here is sub par, not necessarily because the workers are mean or unintelligent, but because they are overworked. The business model at Smashburger is like a combination of a sit-down restaurant and fast food. You don’t have to bus your own trays and garbage at the end of your meal, but this means that you are often left to sit at an uncleaned table from the trash left by the previous patrons. And since they are understaffed, you don’t have anyone to promptly clean up previous messes. I have been here three times, and each time I’ve had to wipe something with a napkin or brush crumbs off my seat. Only after seeing my party sit down does an employee come over to wipe down the table. Despite the flaws of its customer service and its patrons, the food here is amazing. Besides expensive steakhouses or the cheap meat at Burger King, there’s really no place in Port Washington you can get a solid, greasy, delicious burger with a side of crispy french fries. The Smash Fries are drizzled with olive oil and covered in rosemary. It adds a touch of uniqueness for a place that’s essentially«upscale» fastfood. The other thing I commend them on is providing the extra part of the milkshake in the metal cup when they bring you your drink. If I’m paying $ 5 for a milkshake, it better be thick, delicious, and in a decent portion. If you can, get your food to go from this place. This place is crawling with loud children in a restaurant with poor acoustics. You come here for the food, not the ambiance. Pros: Delicious food. Properly sized milkshakes. Cons: Loud. Dirty. Slightly expensive for burgers and fries.

Typical Smashburger; which isn’t a bad thing! Great burgers, my favorite being the truffle mushroom and swiss(with added bacon of course!). Convenient location for me as it’s way closer than the Wantagh and Hicksville Locations. I really hope one opens up in Queens thats even closer! *Make sure to look out for coupons online, there is always a great deal to be had on a juicy burger.
