One of the best bars in the area. Tony is a great bartender and the people are very engaging and friendly. The drinks and music are very good and they’re open late.

This is a local bar in town. It’s great for a ball game and they have buffalo wings, fries onion rings. It’s typical bar food in a step above dive bar. Nothing fancy and it pretends to be nothing but a good olé Irish bar. Occasional live music and the games are always on.

Greens is a solid Irish pub. It has a mini library in the corner by the front door. Weird stuff like that is always fun to discover. Never seen it super crowded. If your a young single guy looking for young women don’t bother with this place. This is more of a «have drink with old buddies bar». Food is nothing special.

With a few friends in tow and not wanting to venture any further eastbound than we already found ourselves, we settled in at the The Green for a few rounds. Post wake gatherings tend to always lead to the bar afterwards. Although no food was ordered, the drinks were served up fast and the buyback timing was very appropriate. Tap beers did not overwhelm my interest as the Southwick was the most daring of the brews. Framed Sports Illustrated cover photographs adorn the length of the right wall, a huge TV hangs at the bars far end, creates the kind of Irish sports bar feeling that suits my drinking atmosphere desires to a tee. As we were about to depart the band struck up their guitars and began to play. The thought of remaining as my ride home was anxiously preparing to depart was quite strong. Just not strong enough to stand a long while on the 36* LIRR platform to await a Forest Hills bound train, but it was close.

Best burger in town! Crab cakes are out of this world and the chipotle sauce it comes with is amazing. The service and company at Greens is always great. Great place to let loose with coworkers

Green’s is a Manhasset staple. Every kid who grows up in the area, aspires to come here once they reach the legal drinking age. When you think Irish Pub, Greens is what you think of. Wood everything, wrap around bar, great tap selection, bartender with a brogue, you get the full experience. Food is standard pub fare, but very good. The happy hour could be better, I believe it’s only like a dollar off normal prices. They are one of the few bars in the area with McSorleys on tap. On some evenings it gets full with married men hitting on other married women, but this is Manhasset, you’re going to see that quite often around here. Great bar to also relax and have a quiet drink with a friend. No matter when you go, it’s always a great time to come here. Green’s is great and I hope they stay in the area for a long long time.

I ended up at Green’s with a friend last week. We were looking for somewhere different to grab a bite after some shopping. Soooo glad it was a Tuesday… It happened to be their happy hour special(2 for 1 beers)!! I got the chicken panini to eat, and though that may sound simple, I can assure you it had just the right stuff on it. Spinach, tomatoes and what tasted like a sesame vinaigrette. yum! Going back after work tonight for happy hour again. Great little bar, very cozy feel to it.

Came for lunch and had the wings — they were great! Good quality, crispy, and a good variety of sauces. Loved the Tangy Gold! Mac and cheese bites and quesadilla were also very good! Bar was clean, décor was nice, good vibe. The owner was welcoming and friendly. Beer was COLD(cant ask for better than that!!) We will definitley return soon!

Nice little local bar. I came here after work with a few coworkers to relax and unwind. The atmosphere is very laid back and it definitely has that wooden bar smell soaked with beer. If you’re in town i definitely recommend dropping by.

This little pub is a local favorite in Manhasset. We arrived late night for a quick nightcap and it seemed to be crowded with the typical Manhasset fare of youngsters playing cards, people drinking/mingling and the standard wedding party having their after reception drinks. A decent pub environment as far as I have seen from the Manhasset venue. This place is a laid back place to grab a drink and meet some locals.

Midday. It’s raining. Not cats and dogs either. It’d had long progressed to lions and wolves… or at least bobcats and hyenas. I pass by the Irish pub simply labeled«Greens». I briefly forget about the pressing business I have inside and smirk at the irony of the blood red building contrasting it’s name. I park in the lot behind the Rite Aid. There’s a sign indicating that parking is reserved for Rite Aid customers, I ignore it. I cross the street feeling the hard rain pouring down onto the streets and washing away the dark events of previous days, the fire damage still fresh on the pavement. I walk through the door as a lightning strikes and the various patrons all look up; I love a dramatic entrance. The patrons go back to their drinks and watching the sports highlights of last night’s game on the several LCD TVs mounted above the bar. The barkeep gives me a knowing nod and heads into the back; he knows why I’m here. I scan further down the bar and lay eyes on the dame. 5 foot 7 and fiery red hair, she looks up at me with eyes burning like fire and flashes a smile that screams trouble. That’s my middle name. I walk over and ask for a light. Her eyes light up but she says she doesn’t smoke. Neither do I, I’m just fishing for clues. Is she the one? Too soon to tell. «Aurora Blaze» she says with a slight southern drawl. «Dick Justice» I grunt in return. I leave out the part about my middle name being ‘trouble’. It seems like a good call. «Of course you are» She says smiling«Dick, I wonder if you might do me a favor». If I had a nickel for every time a dame asked me that… I’d be making money in a very strange way. But she’s bored and only wants someone to play pool with. I could think of a lot of things I’d like to do with her and the coin operated pool table in the center of the bar but I simple nod yes and pull out a stack of quarters. Time was, you could pass your time here playing a stand up video game«Buck Hunt». Sickos used to get their temporary kicks blasting forest animals with a plastic gun all hours of the day before it was removed. The pool table being the only interactive form of entertainment left looks like a broken down man whose will has been eroded by years with an overbearing partner. Fitting, as it was about to have it’s balls broken. We play for a while and I ask her a few questions about the firebombing in the streets the other day. She moves around the table with the precision of an assassin methodically sinking a ball each time I ask a question, the resounding thunk coinciding with the sinking feeling in my stomach. Punctuating each answer with«sugah» or «honey» the alibi she lays out is anything but sweet. I’m certain now, she is the one. No surprise really. Only the most interesting and dangerous folks show their faces around this pub. She knows I’m on to her and asks«You gonna turn me in gumshoe?». Before I can answer the barkeep returns from the back and hands me a dark plastic bag, and I slide him an undisclosed amount of cash, he looks down and nods in appreciation. Our business is done. I turn back to her and look her straight in the eyes, the steamy aroma of the best crab cakes and onion rings in town wafting from the bag up to my nostrils. «No ma’am, I’m no detective. Just picking up my lunch» I say and then turn around and stroll back out into the storm.

Fine place to get a drink late on a weeknight. They let you bring food in from pizza place down the street. Decent selection of beers. Crowded on the weekends and I’m really not sure why. It’s just not THAT cool. But it’s close to home and convenient for my friends/coworkers. Sucks that they allow smoking, always walk out of there smelling like a chimney. And they took out the Buck Hunter machine. =(even so, it’s a decent place and i’ll continue to go.

Green’s is a cool-ass pub. I’m not too sure what makes it an ‘Irish’ pub but what the hell — call it what you want, I had a great time there. The bartender was friendly and funny, the local characters(some of the original characters straight out of The Tender Bar’s Publicans) are priceless and, most importantly, they pour a stiff drink at Green’s.
