Portage Custom Lube/Wash

I used this place twice while we were staying in the area. I like that you do not have to get out of your car while they change the oil and that they let you know what they find and let you make the decision on what to do. Plus the car wash coin does not hurt matters either.

I was in town on business, long overdue for an oil change, and saw the «free car wash with oil change» sign. They use Mobil oil, so I figured what the heck.
The guys working were extremely polite, very efficient, all a little surprising to find in an oil lube place.
I asked for synthetic, and rather than just automatically giving me the most expensive option like my usual oil change location, they asked me which weight I preferred. Well, it being a borrowed car, I had no clue, but said go ahead and give me the more expensive option, it is supposed to be better right? I prefer to not face too many options, but it’s nice that they don’t just automatically pick the most expensive option like other places.
There’s no extra charge for services like air tire pressure, windshield washer fluid top off, window washing, etc. The things that you get nickel & dime’d on at other places. They got everything done extremely quickly, didn’t have to get out of my car.
And at the end, you receive a token for a ‘free’ $ 9.00 car wash, which is just 4 bays down. So a synthetic oil change, courtesy check of standard car stuff (tires, wipers, fluids), and a car wash, for just under $ 65. That’s less than I pay at my usual place, and my usual place never checks my tires or windshield wiper fluid.
I can not stress enough how friendly and efficient the staff was. Too bad I don’t live anywhere near Portage, or this would be my new usual oil change place.
