I am pretty sure we ran into Scott.
I was looking for a cider or something. Due to a wheat allergy beer has been off of the table.
First off Scott introduce me to the Greens beer that is gluten free. There are three varieties. I had the discovery amber ale. Forever endebbted. It was awesome. From what he told me one for the guys from Sammy Smiths had Brewers he knew well create it because he had celiac disease. As an ex-​lover of Sammy Smith Oatmeal stout I highly enjoyed it.
Usually when I say I have a wheat allergy the person shove me toward the omission — which is gluten free but not wheat free — and a round about and annoying explaination that I can have gluten I just can’t have wheat ensues. I highly appreciated that I didn’t have to do this nonsense here.
He also showed me a selection of ciders that aren’t knock you on your ass sweet. Awesome all around — best liquor store I have been to as far as staff

This happened tonight.
We were at the counter checking out when a guy walked in and asked the male cashier if the store sold any wallets.
The male cashier: «No, but we do have 12 year old Asian kids in the back.»
Cashier again: «Just kidding!»
WHAT. WHAT. DID HE JUST MAKE A JOKE ABOUT SELLING ASIAN KIDS FOR SEX???
I hope that jerk gets fired.

Good prices and the only one in the area. I didn’t know you had to go to a spcial liquor store if you wanted to buy any hard liquor in Oregon.

When it comes to Scotch whisky, 10th Ave is doing just about all it can given the strict guidelines of the OLCC in acquiring interesting bottles. It has the best scotch selection in town, even though it is dwindling a bit. If you drop by to pick up a good bottle of scotch, say hi to Scott for me. He really knows his stuff, whether that whisky be sweet, peat, or savory (like a fine old Clynelish or a Brora).

I’m five starring this liquor store. Is it fancy-​pants like Pearl Specialty? No. The bottles are all behind the counter which can be a little inconvenient, but I think it’s necessary taking the location into consideration.
What this store has though is Scott. Scott is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about spirits, scotch in particular. Their selection is great and if you give them some ideas of what you like they will hook you up with the right bottle. I can buy something high end, or find a bargain priced bottle of hooch at this store. Their tobacco prices are lower than most places as well.

Great store. Great staff. If you like scotch I highly recommend this place. Speak to Scott. Knowledgeable. And thanks to the owner for resolving a little issue I had. Very kind. Whenever I go to Portland, I will definitely make a stop there.

Picked up a bottle of House Spirits Coffee Liqueur here. It was the closest to my hotel within walking distance.
I am pretty sure they had a bottle of Yamazki 18 which is awesome because the BF and I thought we had to go to Japan to pick some up! I will definitely pick some up next time.
There was a small group of people waiting for them to open so it took a little time to get some help.
I would recommend this place.

When I first got into single malt scotch I was a bit annoyed at the state run liquor in Oregon, which seems to limit the selection of scotches. However, this store single handedly sees to it that the state orders a good selection of malts. When I swung in there yesterday the sign said they had 210 unique single malt scotches; an incredible selection for a state run operation! I have no idea how their selection is on anything else, but for single malts, this is the only place in town to go. I also find the staff friendly and helpful.

This is a busy liquor store where I have seen everything from bums to businessmen. In my experiences, the staff can range from lazy to incredibly helpful, just like any other business. It helps if you know what you want and, if you are unsure, don’t ask time-​wasting questions about what to mix for your sorority sisters. I have seen the owner on the floor a few times helping customers, but it is a rare treat and he is extremely knowledgable about every Scotch and pret much any other whiskey around (Japanese whisky, anyone?) Good selection, normal prices (set by the OLCC), and okay location make this a good place for me.

Best selection in downtown Portland. Product ranges from high end to bottom shelf, all priced at very reasonable levels. Incredible selection of scotches and whiskeys.
The staff is great, being extremely helpful without being pretentious.
If you are visiting from Washington and are looking to fill your liquor cabinet, THIS IS YOUR PLACE!

I read the earlier reviews and felt like i was in the Twilight Zone…
These people are nice. Not only are they nice, but they are humorous, easygoing, and intelligent. Further, even though I am fairly broke, they never make me feel less important than the lady next to me who’s clearly The Fancy.
They sell me what i want, give me recommendations, and are not pushy nor unkind. They meet my questions with answers, and no attitude. I told them i needed fancy bourbon for a party, and they showed me the highs, lows and good middles. I come in with a wicked cold looking to spike my gypsy cold care tea, and they knew what would do the trick. He even hollered after me to get well soon, and that shit sounded sincere…
So, I’m recommending this place. I like these guys.

So my friends and I were looking for some very specific items to complete a funny wedding present– forties of beer, a small bottle of jaegermeister, and tiny bottles of baileys and Jameson. We found the liquor no problem but discovered from the very helpful guy behind the counter that the only place in Portland that sells forties is the chevron on 23rd and burnside. I would have been looking all over Portland but instead this nice person was a huge help. Very friendly and knowledgeable and helpful and seem to have a great selection of wine and liquor.

And finally a Spring day does truly shine. You will need gin and vodka and tonic and limes, darling. Shade your eyes from the bright sun and duck into Tenth Avenue Liquor after work. Get everything you need, maybe a little friendly advice from the owner beaming around his bottles. It don’t rain anymore.

1 part gin (or vodka)
1 part white cranberry juice
Shake with cracked ice
Strain into a tall glass
Add tonic to taste
Generous squeeze of fresh lime
Repeat as needed
