Great view. However, entrees are extremely small. Had lunch there yesterday and had the salad with«smoked» chicken, hazelnuts and dried cranberries. My lunch companion had the same. The salad was so small we thought they had split it between us. $ 13, by the way, no bread. Total bill for these two dainty salads, two waters, with tip: $ 32. Salad was good but the prices are wayyyy to high for portions that small.

I felt I was back at Juvia in Miami Beach for a moment. Very nice city views from the rooftop. The food was also good… I had the grouper which was tasty. Nice drink menu too. Makes for a cool hangout for a drink and dinner in Portland.

Excellent food and excellent service! Great location to host a breakfast. The view is wonderful. You can see the solar panels on top of the Oregon Convention Center and look out towards the west(?) and see beautiful hillside with trees. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and fresh. I highly recommend it.

What a great place to enjoy happy hour or a complete dinner! This restaurant is mostly glass and is situated on top of the lovely Hotel Eastlund, so you can enjoy amazing views of Portland from the east side of the river. Part of the restaurant is an open air patio with glass walls… so much fun on this lovely spring evening.

I’ve been coming to Altabira for some time to enjoy their fantastic rooftop patio. After several visits, I feel that it’s about time to get this review out there. I could really give it 5 stars for the patio, especially on a beautiful, sunny Portland day. But, there’s so much more than just a great atmosphere to any review. The food is always good, fresh and innovative. Their menu changes with the season so it’s difficult to nail down a few favorites. I will say that everything that I’ve order has been top notch. The service is hit or miss and really what hinders it from being a 5 star review. Some visits it’s spectacular, others not so much. It’s not necessarily that they are short staffed or overly busy, the service just seems to be a bit disorganized. I’ve never had a problem at the bar or in the dining room but the patio is a different story. The poor experiences have ranged from negligent service to cold food coming out of the kitchen. I highly recommend checking out their patio and their great food. I would recommend if you are dining/drinking onthe patio, have some patience and flexibility because you really don’t know what you’re going to get.

Great food and even better views. Unfortunately the bartender was incredibly rude, her name is Becca and she was short and disrespectful from that immediate onset of ordering a drink. She seemed incredibly frustrated and was unable to answer any questions or be friendly at any level:-(disappointing because it was a beautiful warm night in May and she pretty much ruined the experience:-(this is why the 3 instead of 5 stars!

Great service and amazing view. The ceviche is the best I have ever had! Prices are a little high but worth it for the view.

Lunch during a convention is probably not catching this beautiful rooftop bar at it’s best. Got right in at the bar and was completely ignored by all except the bus boy for 20 minutes. Bartender came over and asked if I finally got a menu. No, I googled the menu and know what I want, I ordered a steak salad and an Occidental brewing company hef. Yummy salad, nothing fancy.

Wow! I’m impressed! We came here for the Blazers game, wanted to get dinner before the game and this restaurant was walking distance from our hotel. Beautiful view, amazing happy hour prices and delicious food! Definitely recommend the ribs! Although my drink was a little weak, I just asked for a double and it was perfect! Can’t beat the view and $ 5.00 well drinks for happy hour! My husband ordered a pizza and it was almost 10inches and only $ 8.00 happy hour! Not to mention their pretty decent beer selection. Definitely recommend coming her for happy hour! Make sure you come before 5pm or you won’t find a seat. We got here at 4:20pm and all the good seats were taken, by 5:30pm it was standing room only, they were actually serving people food and drinks while they stand.

Come for the view! Not for the mediocre food, or drinks, or service! Came on a Wednesday night for a party of more than a dozen, menu look promising, especially after a long day of work. Fortunately every table in this place has a great view. We ordered several mixed drinks, all of which were light… just a splash of alcohol! After the 3rd round with no buzz, i just decided to order a beer. As for food, we ordered several items; homemade clam chowder(very very fishy, and not enough oyster crackers), chicken wings(overly sauced), and burger(asked for medium, came well done). Our food was taken away before we finished it and our waters were never refilled. I would only recommend this place if you are staying in the hotel and don’t want to walk anywhere else for food.

What a lovely Bar and Restaurant for 2016 Portland Jazz Festival concert by Trio Subtonic. Altabira City Tavern sits on 6th floor of Hotel Eastlund. The floor to ceiling glass walled restaurant has expansive views of NW Portland Downtown and Convention Center. They even have a rooftop open patio with handful of firepits for the clear nights. Altabira had nice bottled and micro craft beers on tap. My cocktail was lovely, too. The food was a mixed bag, however. The pasta dish with lamb ragu was good, but some of the Farmhouse Ale Mussels were undercooked, bitter, and did not taste right. It didnt seem like it was a freshness issue and the broth seemed ok. I wrote a request on my Opentable reservation for a table close to the band. I really appreciated their call early that day to let me know the band would be in the open seated bar instead of the reserved dinner dining. We headed out earlier and was able to get a perfect table by the band. Our waitress was a pro. Attentive yet not hovering. When I asked for a cocktail recommendation for something sweet and sour, she brought out a coconut cocktail that was a perfect balance of flavors. It was well made and nice and strong. We saw 2TV s turned to sports. It looks like we will be back for Happy Hour or game watching as well.

Sometimes people refer to downtown as more than the specific Portland neighborhood, using it to people not familiar with our geography to describe the wider city center, everything from I-405 to, say Lloyd Center. Even I’ve done it, and I’m still pissed that Uptown is now considered Goose Hollow. Altabira proves that downtown Portland is still a thing, and the close in east side doesn’t rate. These folks really want to be a downtown establishment, but they can’t quite draw in downtown level clientele or downtown level workers. The servers didn’t know basic facts about the menu and the bartender didn’t seem interested in helping them. The menu sounded fancy but what we got seemed like dressed up chain restaurant food. Frankly, this place feels like just another hotel restaurant, with some fancy decorators, coasting on a lack of options for guests. But oh how it wants to be more. Sorry, Altabira, you’re not ready for prime time.

Pretty great for a hotel bar. The view is wonderful, and they have a awesome Happy Hour. Pizza, mussels, great salads and burgers. Service was quick too. This is more of a business meeting/tourist location, in my opinion, but not to be forgotten if you want a great meal for a good price.

Wow they really did overhaul this place! I went to this place the last time when it was the Window Sky Lounge. I had a dinner there many years ago for my work that I put together and the place then was shabby at best. I really like what they have done with this place, the hotel and everything is fantastic! Like the servers here and HH Is from 4 – 6. Great location if you are doing something over at the convention center. I would recommend anyone to go in here, either for HH or for dinner. What they have done is super classy and not over the top. The outdoor area looks like the improved it as well! I had no idea this had been redone, but knew it opened up last June. Job well done and well, get those spicy wings, so far so good!

Love the happy hour! Enjoying the the mussels and a glass of wine(and fries from the man’s plate) while the man enjoyed a burger with said fries and a stout – and we both enjoyed the view – felt so very civilized. Be warned tho – it can be crazy up there. There was a conference in town *and* a Blazer game the Thursday we decided to drop in, and the place was crammed with people sporting either jerseys or shiny lanyard tags dangling from their necks. Also, although it may seem otherwise, the host station is for the restaurant. The bar side is all first come, first serve, even the tables. And at happy hour, it’s every woman for herself!

Really classy vibe for NE Portland! It is definitely on the pricy side for this area, but it IS in a luxury hotel after all. It’s on the 6th floor of the Eastlund Hotel, which is a recently renovated, boutique luxury hotel in Portland’s Lloyd district. It offers a fabulous view of Portland, a huge glassed in outdoor space, fire pits and an overall great, chill ambiance. The service varies depending on how busy they are. I’ve never had to wait long for a table, and when all else fails, can grab a spot inside at the bar. The food is actually really good, although I do still think it’s overpriced. My current faves are the beet salad(perfect amount of each ingredient!), and the steak with onion rings. I haven’t had a dish that I don’t like yet. Great local beer options on tap too! Overall a great spot.

Hi there Altabira, I just wanted to drop a few lines to tell you I had a great time last night. This was now our second date. Just wanted to let you know that I’m not like those other people you have seen before, I can’t be a two hitter quitter. I’m different. I know you have probably heard it all before but I think we can work things out. My parents and girlfriend really like you, and that’s important to me. I may be moving too fast but you whisk me up above the Hotel Eastlund and show me a wonderful view of the city. We laughed, enjoyed some tasty drinks, had dinner, and even shared dessert. I mean come on, you serve pork shank like that to all the people you bring up here? The smokiness of the chorizo comes through just enough to give it a little bite. Then that pillowy croissant bread pudding was like butta. Maybe next time it won’t be so cold or rainy that I can join you on the rooftop patio and cuddle by the firepit. Thank you again for a wonderful time last night. I can’t wait for our next date. Don’t worry I will call. PS Tell the hotel thank you for 2 hour valet parking for only $ 5.

Come here for a classy, romantic drink outdoors with a nice city view on the eastside. It’s a more upscale vibe than you’d normally come across in Portland, and especially for the Lloyd District. I love that this is now an option. AMBIANCE Great views of the city lights. Romantic, calm, firepit and heat lamp, airy atmosphere. Quiet for conversation. SERVICE Wonderful. Our waiter tended to our needs and anticipated our requests. DRINK Solid menu of beer, wine, and cocktail. Prices are totally reasonable. Beers are $ 5 – 7 a glass; cocktails $ 10; house wine starts at $ 7. FOOD Didn’t try anything, but dinner looked nicely plated and I look forward to going back to test out a meal or happy hour. The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is because I haven’t tried the food yet. For the drinks, atmosphere, prices, and view, it is already 5 stars.

My first trip to Altabira surely won’t be my last! I made plans to grab drinks with some friends here, and let me tell you, it was awesome! The location is in the old Red Lion Hotel. It’s been completely remodeled and brought up to par. Parking is $ 5 for valet, or street parking Monday through Saturday until 10pm. The restaurant itself, is up at the top on the sixth floor. As of right now, there’s no signage to get you there – only educated guesses! You’ll get up the elevator and walk out to the left. The place screams«Pearl District» when you walk in. We got a table outside. Let me tell you – the view is legit. They have a big indoor and outdoor space, fire pits, and overhead heating. I got there and tried a couple bites of my friend’s mussels. Pretty good flavor. No complaints. They were out of the pretzel, so I ended up getting the seafood chowder. When it came to me, it didn’t look like a chowder at all! I was craving something rich and creamy, but once I took a bite, I was instantly no longer grumpy about it. This stuff was amazing. We grabbed some drinks from their extensive drink menu – lots of good options on tap, rather than 16 overprices cocktails. We had a Strawperry Cider from Portland Cider House, and it was totally reasonable and delicious at $ 5 a pop. We polished off our meal by sharing a dessert. We got the fruity one with white chocolate, and I seriously could have eating six more of these. They reminded me of Asian desserts – not too sweet, fresh flavored, and delicious. I was a fan. Overall, I like this place. I had an awesome experience with my friends, and will definitely be back!
