Went there with the family and I was impressed with the food. Really good BBQ. Had their beer bottled before, and it was even better from the tap. Though they were child-friendly, we had to leave by 8pm. They are really strict about it so keep that in mind if you have kiddos. The tables are picnic benches so it’s kind of uncomfortable unless you’re drinking a lot, but they’re in a nice space now on the Main drive in Washougal.

PORTLAND, OREGONREVIEW # 17(BEER) Disclosure: Take this review for what it’s worth. As a teetotaler, I based any alcohol review on the facility, the variety of beers they offer(plus if they offer flights), customer service, food they provide, if they provide entertainment(music or games), and of course if my honey enjoyed his beer(s). Amnesia is what my honey had when drinking at this location. By the time we tried Amnesia, we already visited 8 breweries and 1 bar. In my opinion, I would have to say this is the bottom of my list. Why you may ask? #1 — The location of this place is literally in the middle of nowhere. It’s like industrial buildings and a brewery thrown in there. I guess this explains why they are planning to close this location and re-open at another area. That leaves me with #2 reason, and that is the service. The guy behind the counter defines the word«unfriendly». A customer was actually talking to him about the relocation and if he was planning on relocating with the brewery. He said«NO!!» without even pausing and when the guy asked info on the new location. His answer was«you need to talk to the owner». I was like«Dang are we bitter or what?» #3 the beer according to my honey wasn’t all that great. The beer flight was 8 @ $ 14 the most expensive flight we had in Portland. The presentation of the flight was the cheapest design ever! Basically a laminated paper with circles on it. We also ordered a Tofurkey Brat with Sauerkraut and Lay’s potato chips. The brat was nothing spectacular. It was the only Vegan item on the menu. I will have to say the good thing about this place they had plenty of inside and outside seating.

I don’t make it over to Amnesia often enough. Cozy little brewery that’s always serving up tasty beer. I’m a big fan of Amnesia beer, sad to see them moving way at the end of the year…

I think they are spot on with the name here since I felt amnesia, as in I had forgotten what an IPA tastes like. Neither the Desolation nor Copacetic IPAs tasted anything like a traditional IPA. They tasted much more citrus-like than hoppy. Amnesia was the only brewery in which I totally bombed on guessing the beer flight. I’m chalking this up to their beer not being very good. My honey would like to think otherwise, but that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. In fact, there wasn’t a single beer that I felt I wanted to try again. I believe this was my least favorite brewery in Portland out of the 10 or so that we visited. They are probably a two star brewery for their beer and the service. However I’m giving them an extra star for serving a Tofurky brat. I didn’t know until afterwards it’s an Oregon law that if you serve alcohol, you must serve food and non-alcoholic beverages as well. It’s a pretty reasonable law as far as nanny laws go. However, there’s no law saying you must serve Vegan food(although I feel there probably should be in Portland). The fact that Amnesia is looking out for us, earns them an extra star. Although it’s not all that great with the cold bun, warmed kraut, and so so fries. It still beats eating air. They do have a nice, large outdoor patio area for enjoying your beer when the weather is nice. However this seem fairly common ’round these parts and there are much better breweries such as Migration that also have a large outdoor seating area. You’re much better off heading there instead, then get your food elsewhere…

Food is pretty good but there aren’t very many choices(although there is a vegetarian option!) and the service was a bit slow for it only being 3 o’clock in the afternoon. I gave Amnesia 3 stars because I’ve only been once and it wasn’t a bad experience, but it also wasn’t necessarily an amazing one.

I’m not much of a beer drinker, it tasted fine to me. I had a medium and spicy sausage though and those were SO good. Very savory, not very spicy like the name implies but well seasoned and juicy. Bland sausages are the worst, and this was the opposite of that. Pretty chill atmosphere, open patio, a bit dog friendly if you’re into that sort of thing. I would definitely go back for the sausages.

Amnesia is a an open air brewery that is perfect when Portland weather cooperates. They have indoor seating and outdoor seating where you can quaff a variety of brews and munch on some pub fair. BF and I got a flight which consisted of 8 beers for $ 13. That seemed like a deal to me. The porter, Alt beer and IPAs(Copacetic and Desolation) were the best in my opinion and I’m not even a big IPA fan. A few downsides to Amnesia is that they only have enough taster glasses to have three flights out at a time so if you want a flight be prepared to wait. Also the day I was there the music was all Ramones all the time — a little variety would have been nice.

Next brewery was Amnesia. This place was a big difference from Alameda, referring to the size and feel. This place isn’t too big inside… decent sized bar and a few tables. Under a tent out front if a bunch of picnic tables however. –All we drank was the Copacetic IPA which is only 5.8% but was very good. I really liked the bartender here, she was very friendly, talkative and even was running back and forth from to the bar to the grill outside to cook up food from the menu. –There wasn’t really much in the merch department, maybe a pint glass and a t-shirt at most. –Not much else to say here, but good IPA, nice setting, good bartender and a recommended stop on the Portland Brewery tour.

Mmhmm… copacetic ipa ‘Nuff said. Seriously, the Copacetic IPA is probably my favorite beer in all of Portland. Citrusy, hoppy, drinkable in any weather. It’s sooo good. The only thing I wish Amnesia would do differently is their food. I’m not so keen on paying more for hot dogs and buns they got at the grocery store. But who cares when beer is this good.

By far, my favorite beer maker in town! Amnesia is among the small, local breweries that are getting more and more scarce in Portland(I’m looking your way, Laurelhurst and Lompoc). The interior of what appears to be an old automotive shop, is totally lacking in pretension. The walls are lined with a rotating display of work by local artists. The tables are of the picnic variety. And the limited but tasty menu of burgers and sausages are cooked on an outdoor grill! But what’s really important is the beer. And it’s all good! Unlike some breweries, which are willing to bottle anything that comes to mind, whether it tastes good or not, Amnesia only produces a small, steady number of consistently good-to-great beers, plus a handful of seasonals and rotating beers. Their Desolation IPA is by far one of the greatest on the planet. And their winter ale, Frosty’s Revenge, is… well, let’s just say that I look forward to the colder months just so I can snap up a growler or two(or four). If you’re coming to PDX for a beer tour, make Amnesia your first stop! This beer needs to be appreciated.

What a great space. There’s a big outdoor patio area, as well as a good amount of seating inside. As a dog person, I was glad to see a number of our furry friends out enjoying the summer too. I gotta say, while I’ve had plenty of beer at breweries, the stuff at Amnesia tasted incredibly fresh. Like we just popped this baby open for you fresh.

During my last trip to Portlandia I had the chance to see the coolest places and walk the über cool areas. One of them: Mississippi, where Amnesia Brewing is located. When we walked in the first thing that caught my eye was the entrance is just a porch, that’s an über cool porch! Going in the crowd was very Portland-cool style, laid back and friendly. They have a food menu but we didn’t even look at it, because we were going somewhere else for dinner. But since we were in a scientific expedition and we were kinda in a rush a Sampler was perfect for us. I was supposed to write down all the beers’ names, but I totally forgot(I was too busy enjoying the beers =)) But all were good, my favorite was one IPA and one blonde, my apologies I forgot the names… Great ambiance, good service and awesome beer, so good that it can cause amnesia and can make you forget the beers’ names… seems like I gonna have to make a sacrifice and try them all again (oops!) Highly recommended!

Nice laid back ambiance. Cheap drinks($ 13 for two beers & a wine), an outdoor area with part of it in a heated covered tent so if you’re outside as it gets dark you have the option to enjoy the nice air but stay warm. I’m more of a cocktail/sweet wine kind of person and so there really weren’t many options for me, but at least the bartender was honest about that.

Other than the Mr. T wannabe that came by and checked us out every 15 minutes. This place is great! I love my dinner(it was huge and the price was great). NOTE: You order and pay at the bar! You get your drinks at the bar, if you order food, they will deliver at your table.

** 3.5 stars ** Walking along Mississippi street, Amnesia’s corrugated steel pub catches our eye, a converted warehouse with a large covered yard. Casual and laid-back, just sidle up to a picnic table or take a seat at the worn, wood bar. Looks and feels like a great neighborhood spot to have a beer and burger or sausage(even a tofu brat); they do outdoor grilling for the food. $ 3.50 for a pint of one of five drafts, knock a quarter off for happy hour. We drank one beer, which has since slipped my mind as it was the only one in our Portland beer hopping that I failed to take notes on! Just recall a solid beer, refreshing and hit the spot after our uphill walk from Widmer Brothers. Great, casual beer spot for locals, dog-friendly too!

No elaborate facility here; just a big aluminum barn with a partially covered and heated patio area– and some damn good beer! What else do you need, really? Pints are $ 3.50, and the fresh hop IPA was pretty awesome. Can’t wait to come back to try some more!

I don’t know why I ended up at Amnesia Brewing. I really need a drink after walking that hill up from Widmer Brother in the heat I really need a break from all the walking and chasing after my friends I really need to go use the washroom(but does drinking makes me want to use washroom more?) I really thinks that patio and the rustic looking brewery looks cute? I really wants to have another place to Unilocal about!(I think this beats all the above!) Amnesia Brewing is just so cute. Love the huge patio with the picnic tables. The deco inside is like I am in a cottage, somewhere in the wild. Drinking a pint with friends in this casual setting definitely really enjoyable. Not much on drafts but great small local breweries. I wish I need to go washroom more often so I can visit more unplanned breweries/restaurants/coffee shops more often!

What a way to start an eating and drinking tour of the Portland area! Great neighborhood. Great beer. Great sausage. I can’t add anything that hasn’t already been said. Would go back to Amnesia in a heartbeat.

More brews than you knew and we tackled them. Amnesia was a short walk from Widmer so we decided to have a couple more and maybe a little snacky-poo. Amnesia is open, with art on the walls, a cool vibe of laid back people enjoying beer on the patio or in the barn looking brew pub. He ordered us a couple beers and the sausage and cheese plate. He knows me. We had the Desolation IPA and the Slow Train Porter . The sausage, cheese and bread was the perfect little snack to make it through our brew pub tour. I’m glad we went to Amnesia, because we got to check out Mississipi street a little before heading back downtown. It was a fun little spot and would be an excellent place to get a little sun while enjoying a nice cold one.

So this is really more like a 4 star review but I’m going with 5 for the simple fact this place deserves an extra one to offset the dingbat parents giving 1 star to a brewery that won’t let them drag their kids along when they want to drink booze, child in tow. Yes, sir. You are correct. There are a few other(perhaps lesser) breweries in town that welcome your offspring. Go there. I’m sure they’re more than happy to let you down a couple pints while you ignore your spawn running around the establishment screaming and knocking things over. I guarantee you are the only one who’s happy you get to have your loin monkeys at a bar. On another, less child-centric note. The beer(especially the Copacetic) is well above average if you enjoy strong but generally well balanced beers. The menu is really simple but covers meat eaters and veggies alike. The staff is perhaps a little indifferent at times but I’ve never had rude service and sometimes had really great service. The bathrooms are clean, there are lots of covered tables outside which serve well to meet new people. The mix of people seems to be pretty good too. From the most hipstery of hipsters to studying college students to an after work office crowd to Dude-bros with some serious tans. I’ve never had anything but great experiences here with the other patrons. Best of all this is an ADULTSAFESPACE. There are no kids allowed so you don’t have feel like you need to watch your language, move tables to smoke or listen to the cries of bored youngins who have to sit and watch pops knocking a few back.
