Wow! I am in customer service and I hate to leave a negative review for a small business… but this guy is the WORST. If he had any sense he would hire a better face for his business. He is the most so un-​charming, in-​communicative and disastrous salesman I have ever met. I had a ton of work I wanted to get done on two separate houses that I own in Southeast Portland. I bought a groupon. I have used those for my own business and I am sensitive to the trials of coupons shoppers. So, he arrives on time. Good start. Then is most brusque and unfriendly to the extreme. I don’t need someone to kiss my proverbial backside but some social niceties are appreciated when dealing face to face with prospective clients. His quote for the work was wayyyyyy expen$ive. So I decided to just go stated value on the groupon. The crew showed up to do the work and were rude to my tenant. Did a horrible job, left dead branches hanging, ugly abrasive cuts to the tree visible and didn’t even compile their debris/​garbage to a central pile. instead leaving it scattered across the lawn to kill as much grass as possible. The kicker of it was that of the 3 person crew a maximum of one or two was working at a time and they STILL padded their hours on top of that. When I politely addressed my concerns and did the labor math for him using the time that he supplied as an explanation (he not so good at math), he said «too bad, take it up with group-​on» Which I did. They refunded my purchase. Thanks groupon. And Shame on you Artisan Landscaping.

In 2013 I purchased a living social deal for $ 300 worth to spend on landscaping or tree services from this company. The deal was marked down half off so I thought I would give them a try. My neighbor has a large chestnut tree that protrudes into my yard with hundreds of chestnuts falling every fall, tree service was definately needed. When my husband called to make an appointment for them to come out the man who took the call seemed to have a general attitude of annoyance that he was being bothered to schedule an appointment. My husband was told the voucher would only cover an hours worth of service ($ 300/​hr) and that does not include removal of any kind.
A three man team came to perform the work and I told them to cut down as much branches as possible on my property line. The guy in charge (I believe it was the same man who took the call for our appointment, same general attitude) asked if I wanted removal of the branches as well, I confirmed it was still extra for removal and declined. After I declined the man said whatever he cut down he would just throw in my neighbors yard since technically the tree was on their property. I’m not sure if that is how the company prefers to dispose of all branches, do but since I have to live side by side with these people throwing a huge pile of branches in their yard doesn’t seem like the best neighborly option. I declined that option as well and told him to just leave the branches in my yard. About 50 minutes after they started working I went out to check and see what they were doing and it turns out all three men were just sitting in the car reading a magazine. I’m not sure when their «hours time» started but it wasn’t when they actually started working. Was it the moment they drove up my driveway? I think they were waiting until the hour was supposed to be up and then were going to come get me from inside to show me what they had done, I just came out a little too early and caught them. I looked at the tree from the driveway and they didn’t do as much work as I had hoped, but there were less branches than before so that was a plus.
After the three men had left I actually went into the backyard and noticed that there were no branches anywhere in the yard. I checked my neighbors yard too, nothing. I thought that was nice of them that they chipped and removed the branches for free out of the goodness of their hearts, but then realized they broke my close line and probably removed everything to make up for it. When I was talking to them before they left there was no mention of them removing the branches and definately no mention of them breaking my clothesline. And they had to have known they broke it because it is heavy duty wiring that would have made a loud snap. All and all, I was not happy with the work they did, will not be a repeat customer and will never recommend their services.

Andre and his crew are the best at what they do. Thank you for your prices as they coincide with what I received. There’s nothing better than spending just a little bit more when I received so much more. I will be a faithful customer for life. Thank you so very much for your awesome work and a truly different experience. You guys know your stuff. Thank you.
