We spent years looking for the right tattoo artist to tackle my husband’s tattoo (see posted pics of 3 gods Brahma, Vishnu & Shiva). London was clearly the artist for the job. He had the difficult task of researching the ruins of the original Indian statue & piecing together a drawing that represented both the visual & cultural feel of the ancient Gods. An insanely difficult task, but he excelled at it.
You must understand, most of the statue was missing, only pieces of the statue remain along with a few drawings & legend. We viewed countless tattoo portfolios & spoke with numerous tattoo artists, I’m positive only London had the intellect & skill to handle this challenge.
What’s more, London is the most fair & professional artist we’ve met. His prices are reasonable & he listens to his clients. He showed us a fully rendered sketch of his tattoo design; he listened to our feedback and made the necessary changes to ensure our happiness. This is exceptional service!!! Other artists in town tell you they work up their design a day or two before you sit for the actual tattoo… not London, he is prepared well in advance so he has time to make changes and show you the results. PROFESSIONAL people!

I’ve been coming to this shop for over 3 years and I can’t say enough great things about the artists and the work they create. The shop itself is incredibly clean, comfortable, and decorated with awesome woodwork, old street signs, and countless other cool things to let your eyes linger on while getting some fresh ink. My current work is being done by the shop owner, London Bellman, and he is a true artist. His work is incredibly detailed and beautiful. I always leave the shop looking forward to my next visit, not only for the new ink but for the conversation and whole experience that comes with each and every visit. Thanks Atomic!

I remember when Atomic was down in what is now the Pearl years back as I was looking at getting my first tattoo. Now they are in there current location in a very cool house on Alberta. It’s a very impressive studio inside and out via the landscaping. Tattoo wise I’ve been using Jason Bradbury for multiple pieces and looking forward to my next session as I type. Every time I comment on someone looking for a studio in PDX, I’m not the only one that is highly recommending ATOMIC!

In a sea of realistically amazing tattoo shops in portland, Atomic Art is a gem. The level of quality and originality coming out of the shop is astounding. London and his team specialize in a two things: a seriously elevated platform of original art work/​concepts, and secondly, in my opinion, a really intimate and personal tattoo experience. Currently in process of completing both my arms by london, and couldn’t be happier.

I happened across Atomic Art about 7 years ago when I was first looking for a good cover up artist to «fix» an old mistake from somewhere else. (I’ve been getting tattoos since I was 15 years old and have seen a lot along the way!!) I was referred to Jason Bradbury by a friend who had awesome tattoos done by him as well. I made an appointment and was greeted by nice people who were not your stereotypical tattoo shop assholes you find many other places. Jason is covered in tattoos, but seems like a normal guy you would have as your neighbor. Easy to talk to, and makes a point to get to know you. The other artists in the shop are friendly and will engage conversation from across the room, making everyone feel at home. London, the owner keeps the grounds like a zen garden and recently remodeled the entire inside of the shop. It is clean and professional and have recommended dozens of new clients to the shop, each one thrilled with the experience and the tattoos they left with!
Since that first time 7 years ago that I walked in, Jason has been a regular part of my life… completing two full sleeves, including two cover ups, and a large back piece. I get comments EVERY SINGLE DAY about the work on my arms. People love them, want to ask about them, and want to know where I go. Now that I have just moved to California, things are the same… people asking lots of questions… and they are sad that the shop is now 600 miles away… but a couple have taken down the shop info saying they’d look the place up when they visit friends in the area! This is not a shop where you can just walk in and get cheap flash art done. You need to make an appointment in advance, and if you aren’t going to make it, be considerate enough to let them know! You will not be disappointed with any of your experiences at Atomic Art.

If you’re into quality custom work in a fun, chill, friendly and clean environment, this is the place to go. London runs a top-​notch shop with a focus on art, not business.

I’ve had two ¾ sleeves done by Jason Bradbury at Atomic. This is the only shop can see using for any serious work. It felt right from the moment I walked in six years ago. They’ve since redecorated with a cool atomic era vibe, including geiger counters, atomic age stuff, really cool.
Everyone in the shop is an artist well-​versed in forms outside tattooing. This really impresses me because I can see their work on the walls. I know that I could work with any of the four artists there to develop and apply a killer tattoo. Of course, I will be back soon enough.
What really speaks to me about the Atomic experience is the vibe London has created there. He’s got bamboo all over the entrance around back and the feel, conversation, the atmosphere, it’s all just really down to Earth and real. This is the kind of space where great tattoos are had. You want to go back, if for nothing else but to be there getting a tat.
It’s a custom shop. Expect to put a down payment on a design. Enjoy the process. You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve been seeing Joanne for all my work for years !!! She is a total artist her work is nothing like anyone else’s! My arm is hers… soon my chest piece. She’s not only a totally talented artist but a really super rad person. She’s BUSY so plan ahead with this one she is TOTALLY worth it!!! Love you lady see you soon !!!

Joanne has done an amazing job a number of times. She even saved me from an attempt to get a bargain in Eugene by fixing up the other tattooists mistakes! I love this place, the staff, and the atmosphere. Clean and organized, and extremely helpful. Love it!

Adore this place. London, the owner, keeps a clean and organized studio. Hes done hours of works on my husband. Joanne has 10+ hours on me. She’s fast and does great color work. I get compliments all the time.
$ 125/​hr last time we were there, but guaranteed to be pleased.
The only place to go in Portland. The schedule reflects that… last time we went the wait was 6months. Only custom work, and only phenomenal art.

Best heckling ever, and better Tattoos!!!

(from several months ago) Made an appointment with Joanne. Showed up on time, with cash as requested. A man told me she had left early, gave me her card and said I should call her to reschedule. Should I assume she would show up for a second appointment? When she didn’t show up for the first one?
You only get one chance for a first impression.

When you type «Tattoo Studios, Portland Oregon» into google, Atomic Art Tattoo Studio will not be the first shop to come up. This is a good thing.
This shop is almost a ‘best kept secret’ for those who want the best tattooing in Portland. The are no generic books of flash, no rock and roll posturing and no bad attitudes.
I love the work that London has done on both my arms. People will stop and ask me who did my work. My first instinct is to not say and run away sceaming, but I tell them anyway. Another person who will be ‘in the know’.
Everybody in the shop is so easygoing it actually makes for a fun time even though you are being poked by a needle. The studio itself is worth seeing just for the amazing artwork hanging on the walls.
So now you know. Atomic Art Tattoo is the only place I would recomend, even if it means the secrect is out.

London is fantastic! Went in to get my first tattoo, met with London and felt good when he took the time to really understand what I wanted in my tattoo. Then a few weeks later he emailed me a great design based on what I wanted. A few tweeks and it was great. The first session, I was nervous but all the great people working there really make you feel good and keep things mellow. I just finished today and it is incredible. Everyone has been really impressed with how it has evolved into a truly living piece of art. Exactly what I wanted and more than I could have imagined. If you really care about what your tattoo is going to look like, and you should if it’s going to last the rest of your life, putting yourself in the hands of London or the rest of the staff at Atomic will not have you full of regret but rather a walking canvas of a great artist.

The time spent at this tattoo studio is by far the best experience I’ve ever had getting inked (and I’ve been tattooed at two other shops in Portland, one in New Mexico).
Just went in for my second session on my ¾ sleeve this past Saturday. What can I say? London Bellman has mad skills. He is salvaging the work of another tattoo artist who shall remain nameless, and at this point I think I owe London a life-​debt.
He’s super professional about the art-​work itself, and very easy-​going when you’re in the chair. Lots of laughs and pleasant conversation to pass the hours while you’re getting stabbed. There is no affectation or attitude here — London is a rueful sort of hippie and the atmosphere of the shop reflects that.
His portfolio is outstanding and I knew at once that he would be able to create the imagery I was looking for. I’m so impressed by the work he’s done so far!
Can’t wait to return and have him complete the sleeve — it’s going to look amazing.
It’s hard to imagine going to another location at this point. My husband who has two tattoos is thinking about getting his third here.

I’ve had five tattoos done at Atomic by Jason, and I’m clearly a happy customer. They work by appointment only, no drop ins, they don’t have a «book» that they do work out of, everything is custom. The shop is very clean and has a good feel to it. Jason and London have been in the business for a long time, they’re real pros and their work reflects that.

It has been some years since I have been lucky enough to come to Portland and visit London Bellman’s Atomic Art Tattoo shop, but this is my favorite tattoo shop. The art being produced here is of the highest quality. London is an incredible artist, of his current associates I only know Jason Bradbury’s work, and Jason’s art is also phenomenal. Both their tattoo work and their other media art is extremely high quality. The atmosphere in this hard working studio is welcoming and fun. There’s always some good music being played and some interesting conversation to take your mind off the pain. This is a hidden gem you should not miss out on.
