The staff is horrible let’s start with that, I had requested a handicap accessible room due to having a handicap son with a chair, they said they’re unable to do that for a day but they’d move us the next day due to us having a reservation for a week, we asked the next day they said they can’t, we asked the day after when we saw tons of handicap rooms open and available and they said that they don’t allow specific people to stay in these specific rooms and then told me how lucky I am to be I the room I’m already in. We then had delivery food daily and the front desk started to complain to us saying we’re having too much «traffic» by having food delivered and if we wanted to have food brought to our room we would have to meet the drivers on the side of the street. Then when we attempted to place a booking threw
the customer service rep told us that the front desk won’t allow us to make the booking due to the traffic we bring into their hotel… Was woken up several times by their live in manager who was screaming at people staying there about God knows what almost nightly. Just a horrible horrible stay no matter how hard I tried to give them the benefit it of the doubt.

Interesting old school bi-​level motel in a small neighborhood east of downtown. I’ll keep it brief.
Potentially a car prowl lot, but my car was happy when I got to it the next morning.
Thin windows so if someone wanted to break in they could but it didn’t happen. Glory!
Bed is old and springy but for some reason I slept well on it. Cigarette burns in comforter made me feel like I was in a pulp novel. NO BUG THOUGH!
Old TV. Works. Shower, works. Floor felt old. Front door secure and two nice front desk people. Basically as good as you’ll get for $ 60 a night. I was surprised, happily and would recommend to anyone looking for a cheap place in the area, so long as the motel keeps up on the rooms.

I have stayed at this hotel on many dozens of occasions, even on a weekly monthly stay. The room I got for $ 60 was awful for these reasons: (bring your own cleaning supplies if you plan on bathing). Dirty, grungey, and broken. The sinks plugged up, the doors busted from someone’s domestic violence incident. Heroin and blood spatter all over the walls from junkies past visit to the banfield not only that, I found two crack pipes as well. The fans were loud and broken, poor lighting and bed spreads smell like its been a year since last cleaned. I stayed at banfield for two nights @ $ 120, while my father stayed at a 4 ½ star hotel @ Marriott for $ 45 a night which included extras where as I stayed they’re we’re no extras, just surprise of discust.

pretty legit, standard shit. if you’re looking for a cheap place that’s not ratchet this is it. they have flat screen TVs, son. the best of will ferrell part 2 is on vh1. can’t beat that. maybe part 1 is better, but maybe they saved some gems for part 2. wouldn’t wanna put all the good stuff in part 1, you’d think. also the woman running this place at night yelled at me because we ordered a pizza in the parking lot. she said people were trying to sleep. yeah, got it lady. I won’t inconvenience anyone else with my hunger.

I was really open minded and grateful that we could find a place in Portland for under $ 150 a night. Close to the highway was a plus for getting around. The first thing I noticed is that the front desk folks could really give a flying f*** about you or being of assistance. Whatever… what can you expect? They weren’t rude or anything. They just didn’t seem to care. Next I noticed one morning that they were spraying all the beds and mattresses in the rooms around us with some kind of insecticide. EEEkkk. I was terrified we were gonna bring home whatever they were trying to kill. And lastly… between using their washcloths/​towels and sleeping on their sheets I got a horrible rash on my face. Some type of fungus. My face started itching really bad while we were staying there for 3 nights. And then turned into this god awful fugus-​y rash. I would never recommend anyone to stay here. Unless you don’t mind bugs and rashes. Have at it… it’s all yours.

The best thing I can say about this place is that there wasn’t already a dead hooker under the mattress. We booked a room out of desperation & were met with predatory occupants, homophobic slurs & fear for our lives & belongings. Décor was nouveau crackhouse, service was terse & we fled a day early without any reimbursement. Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.

This place was awful. The owners live in one of the rooms and constantly slam their doors and yell at people either really early in the morning or late at night. They also have a dog, and the lady who lives there constantly yells outside their door babying him saying stuff like“HI BABY DID YOU MISS MEEE???” And whenever they leave, the dog starts yapping pretty loudly. One of the nights the owner screamed at somebody at like 1 in the morning to get off his property and I’m pretty sure it was another resident. These people have been waking us up and being annoying for almost the entire week we’ve stayed in the motel. And the owner had the nerve to say we were being loud and slamming doors when all we did was order food for delivery. On top of them being loud, they didn’t give us any warning for the checkout time. He called the room 4 minutes in advance when we had barely woken up. He gave us an extra 30 minutes to leave which still wasn’t enough time to pack up everything and take a shower. Overall it was bad service, along with pretty gross rooms filled with ants and fruit flies which were already in our room when we first got there, plus a lack of ventilation making the room extremely musty. I do not recommend this motel. Seriously, go somewhere else.

Clean, decent motel. Yeah housekeeping is neurotic and will give you a free wake up call when they want you out, but the rooms and beds are clean. Its close to the freeway but you can’t hear it from your room. Good price and good service for a good clean room. I’m a germphobe and I was okay with this place.

Okay. This place is really not so band in my experience — I have stayed at worse and I have stayed at better places. On check in they have a pretty rigorous card they make you fill and they also need to see your ID and whoever is staying with you. Staff is friendly. I brought Lysol wipes and my own blanket — that’s because I have seen way to many CSI episodes. But housekeeping actually exceeded my expectations with cleaning.
So as far as just off the highway, two story, cheap hotels go this one is okay. (Stay above the office if you can)

I won’t stay there again. It got a star for location convenience, staff friendliness, pet friendliness, and a moderately comfortable bed, but that’s it. The place was EXTREMELY dirty. Like poop smears on the door and door frames dirty. The sheets and pillowcases were really the only things I trusted to be clean, and even they had holes in them. Stains on ceilings and splats on walls and headboards… Really, really dirty. I was even visited in bed by a cockroach on my pillow. It’s also right next to train tracks, so if you’re a lighter sleeper (or if you’ve gone to sleep paranoid about roaches crawling into your mouth) it may wake you. I’m really not typically bothered by the ‘unknown’ factor of hotels, but when I can SEE it, it’s too much. I nearly showered with shoes on, and I used the washcloth to open and close the crap-​tainted bathroom door. I will pay more for a shower I can feel clean in. Sorry.

The room cost $ 66, clean, comfortable and the location provided easy access to the city. Ganesh, the owner, was super nice and helpful when checking in. When looking at the reviews this place previously received I was a bit skeptical, but after staying here and meeting some of the staff I was happy with the experience. Highly recommended for an extremely reasonably priced stay.

After reading these reviews, I was worried that this place was going to be a dump. But, it is actually a perfectly reasonable cheap lodging option, which is hard to come by in Portland. Sure, the furniture is cheap, the bed’s not that comfortable, and the décor is ugly. But, my room was clean and odor-​free, and I slept like a champ. It is a little bit noisy next to the interstate, and we did see some tweekers hanging around in the morning. But, I happened to leave my car keys at the front desk by accident when we checked in at 1:30 in the a.m., and they were still there when we checked out, tucked away safely in a drawer behind the desk. Someone could have stolen my car, but they didn’t, and that is a plus. I would stay here again.

I’m having a very good experience with this hotel. My Room cost $ 65. It’s very clean. The people that work here are amazingly nice. My Bed is comfortable and clean. There is a fridge and a microwave. The towels are soft and big enough that I can wrap them around my fat ass. I’m walking distance from a lot of great food, the Hollywood Movie Theater and a really short drive from downtown. I’m just not seeing the negative things that others are posting. It’s possible I’m here on a good week. But I gotta say, I’m having a very good say.
From what I understand, part of the hotel is a residence and is not in as good a shape as the other parts.

I found this place online and surprisingly, the reviews were great. I wonder who wrote them because this place is not as good as they said. This hotel is filthy, there is no free breakfast, smells bad, etc. I wish I had known it before and I would not have come here. I won’t be back, not even for a second. Aside the location nothing was good here.

The place was clean. The bed was comfortable.
It was ugly, and right next to a highway and train tracks. But honestly it wasn’t very loud and I considered the train sound rather soothing.
The location was excellent for food — we tried Pambiche (Cuban) — it’s spendy but the best sandwich (Pan Con Pescado) I’ve ever had. There’s a number of other highly rated places close by.
Seedy-​ish clientele, but not an unsafe feeling. The towel rack was hanging out of the wall, lol.
I would stay here again, but I like to try new places.

Awful place, noisy, overpriced for what it is, wifi did not work at all the entire time. It felt like I was in a ghetto. The only saving grace is it’s close enough but the place is a dump and you will need to drink heavily to forget the experience.
Stay elsewhere. Find a guesthouse or hostel if you are on a budget.

This placed put a damper on my birthday weekend.
Upon arriving, we were told our reservation was incorrect and promptly charged an additional $ 96 for our stay. During this first interaction, a lost soul (meth head) rocked back and forth in the waiting room, half listening and half talking to god as the manager was rude to a guest on the phone, and then in person when they came down to request towels. We should have left right then.
The room was gross, the place was loud, etc. All of these things are fine by me. To make a long and sad story short, we left a night early and paid for a room elsewhere. The random crackhead and the shady people who worked there made us feel unsafe if not directly threatened us.
This place needs to be swept. These people have real problems. I would be a lot angrier if it weren’t so depressing.

Bedbugs.
Need I say more? I will anyway.
My fiancé and I stayed here for two weeks this summer. I’m a teacher and get summers off (woo) so we figured we would spend time catching up with friends in Portland– a city that we miss dearly since moving. Portlandia or Grimm or the awesome summer weather made everywhere but this dump too expensive to inhabit «long term,» however, so we figured we’d brave it.
On the first day, we were told by the person at the desk that we may want to change rooms because people «often have problems with that room.» We quickly figured out that some hobo had been smoking over a pack a day in the room, and that doesn’t sit too well in a non-​smoking room. They move us, no problem, to a fucking bedbug party.
We spent the next week trying to convince ourselves that we were getting mosquito bites, because who wants to acknowledge that the shithole they’re staying in is eating them alive?
After denial ran its course and we made our way through a whole tube of cortisone cream, we got our room switched again. Only to have someone else try to kick us back to the shitty part of the motel because they had to do «maintenance.»
Basically, half of this place had been remodeled and the other half hadn’t been. The unremodeled half houses transients with state subsidies for housing. A teacher and attorney, having booked on
with no warning of the difference in rooms, were put in extremely distasteful conditions.
We refused to move and stayed the rest of our stay in relative discomfort, but were no longer being eaten alive by bedbugs, so that was a boon. On the plus side, one of the women who worked at the desk was awesome. On the down side, she told us at the end of our stay she was leaving the company within the week.
We saw them haul off a bunch of mattresses during our stay, so maybe they don’t have bedbugs anymore? But judging by the condition of the dirty trucks hauling in the new mattresses, I would recommend you just stay far, far away from this fucking dump.
Oh! and the wifi was inconsistent at best. There wasn’t one sure network to use and the one we used most crashed constantly. They also advertise free HBO but do not actually have it. Liars.

I’m going to open this review with «Holy fuck.» I realize that’s ambiguious, but that’s the best way I can sum up my experience at this seedy, seedy motel.
So, priceline fucked me on this one. My boyfriend and I were heading down from Seattle and I’d forgot to book a room in the normal window of time. So, tethering my laptop off my phone, I submitted my usual round of lowball bids, only to be horrified that not a sigle two star hotel in Portland would accept anything up to $ 45 a night! Oh howard johnson, how you had forsaken me. So, nervously, I tried lowering the star level to one-​star rooms. Boom. Banfield Motel swoops in and ravenously devours my bid of $ 40 a night. So it begins.
We pull in at night and the clerk is ok, if a little odd. My first impression was that my car was probably going to be missing anything that wasn’t welded to it the next morning, so we brought literally everything inside the room. Then we saw/​heard the other patrons. They seemed to consist of two groups, people doing copious amounts of meth and then loudly fighting with or having sex with eachother after having done a sufficient amount, and a black family that would sit outside our hotel room and maintain a running verbal commentary on everything that was going on outside. Our hotel bed looked like Salt the first night, as we strategically placed weapons within easy reach after seeing a guy with a crowbar softly knocking on people’s doors upstairs.
It was via the black family news ticker that we learned the next day that «OH SHIT THE POLICE GOAN GET YOU SONBITCH!» One fine gentlemen apparently had had a little too much to snort/​smoke/​inject and, after starting six or seven fights and finally trying to loudly fist-​fight the manager in the parking lot, the cops came. The man assumed the position without being asked, and seemed to be doing pretty well until the cops took off his hat and a big bag of drugs fell out. At that point he was promptly arrested, and after putting everything I owned back in my car, my boyfriend and I struck out for the day.
That night, we arrived back to find things as seedy as ever and the room, of course, not cleaned. My boyfriend had a headache and took a sleeping pill, and I was going to go out and hang out with some friends, until the phone rang. I picked up. «Hello? Are you awake?» they asked. «What the fuck?» I replied. «Oh. Do you have, a, a lighter?» They asked. I hung up. As I continued getting ready, I got another call, this time a different voice. «Hey… are you still awake?» they asked. «I’m cleaning guns, why?» I asked. They hung up. That was a lie, because at that point I just started loading guns.
So, evening plans ruined by refusing to leave my unconscious boyfriend to a horde of tweakers impatiently calling to find out when we were asleep so they could break into our room, I spent the remainder of the night ignoring the phone and practicing what I would tell the portland police department about how an assault rifle was totally a logical first choice to have next to me when the tweakers crowbar-​ed my door open. They ended up going easy on us that night, and we got the fuck out the next day. On a darker note, had I left my boyfriend there that night I’m not sure he would have been alright without me there.
So, pro’s and cons:
Pros:
Free running commentary of what’s going on outside via random black family that sit by the window of your room
Room is pretty cheap
Easy access to meth, if that’s a plus for you
If you’re filming a COPS spinoff, you could just leave a camera there and make bank
If you’ve ever had a fantasy about committing justifiable homicide, might be worth staying a few nights.
Cons:
Shortage of lightblulbs around the area, probably because people keep smoking drugs out of them
The room was pretty ratty
The other patrons are tweakers and will literally call your room to determine the best time to try to steal your things
Not restful, safe, or really a good place to be with anything smaller then a 9 mm.
Good for:
Doing drugs, not sleeping on the street if you forgot to book a hotel on priceline earlier, possibly killing a guy, getting your stuff stolen, watching people get arrested and fight, doing research for writing a sequel to pulp fiction.
Bad for:
Having stuff you like, feeling safe, families, unarmed people, people who like quiet, people who don’t like to watch people get arrested, people who don’t sleep in shifts so that one person is conscious if someone breaks into your room.
All in all, second most insane hotel I’ve ever stayed in, most insane hotel I’ve ever spent the night in.

The location is pretty good, in my opinion.
There, there’s something nice to say. However, this place is terrible. Somehow the housekeeping didn’t think cleaning my room the entire time I was here was necessary. Not to mention the fact that the sheet on the bed wasn’t a fitted sheet! They just laid a flat sheet down and thought that was acceptable. The mattress underneath – awful. They allow pets, but charge $ 10 per pet. Fine, I get it. But wanting to charge me for my two GUINEA PIGS IN A CAGE? What part of caged animal do they not understand? The Guinea Pigs don’t run around the room, which means they don’t cause an unnecessary mess, therefore, why am I being charged a fee for them? The wireless is not only weak at best, it’s UNSECURED. You don’t need a password to hop on. When I mentioned this to the woman at the front desk, she said she never thought of it that way. Ooookaaay.
