Got my hair cut by Lyn a couple of months ago. Honestly, I hoped it would be good, with the excellent review from Sarah and the reviews that I found on the Deva website. However, it just wasn’t. She was nice enough, but the talk of her experience made me feel like there was more talk than walk. She also told me stories of people who didn’t like her approach and/or cutting technique in the past. Why disclose that information? Why talk about negative experiences from prior clients. Then there was the cutting… it was over in about 20 minutes. Anyone who’s had a real Deva Cut knows it takes much longer than that to employ the technique correctly. Although she cut my hair dry, she said she would pull apart and cut every curl separately, that didn’t happen. She even cut several sections of my hair straight across with no attention to how the curls fell. Who cuts curls straight across? At the end of the appointment, she said, «I can tell you’re uncomfortable, so just call me and come back to fix any issues. Do Not Attempt to fix it yourself.» Sorry, but no… I won’t go back. At 6 weeks post appointment I was left with a messy grow-out of inconsistent curls. Boo. Don’t go. There’s got to be a better stylist out there for your curls.

Just a follow up to report that my cut is growing out very nicely! It’s been almost two months so far, and the shape is still there and my curls are happy.

Dani took over a salon run by another five star beautician. When I called to make an appointment I was disappointed for about five seconds, then Dani told me she had all my information on a card. I jumped for an appointment and was very pleased with the results. She does a great job with dyeing hair and styling it. I’m so happy with the my hair, I’m sticking with her.

I discovered Dani when I was hunting for someone to do my hair for my wedding. My only goals were to find someone who could come to my house over labor day weekend and who wasn’t exorbitantly expensive. Luckily, Dani met those criteria, but add to that a spectacular personality and I feel very lucky to have found her. She’s got a solid sense of humor and is easy to connect with. After a pre-wedding cut and the day-of updo, I continued to visit her at Tint Salon, where she rented a chair. I was really happy to hear that she recently opened up her own salon, Black Sheep Salon. I had my first cut in her new space over the weekend and it is a lovely place. It’s a two-chair salon upstairs over Tiger Lily Tattoo on Sandy. She did a wonderful job making it homey and comfortable and I am surprised at how much I like the privacy of the space-it allows for great conversation and a comfortable atmosphere. There is easy bike parking out front and it’s super easy to access via bike from 47th. She’s happy to take credit cards via Square and the cost of her cuts are absolutely reasonable.

Dani has been doing my hair for the last 4+ years. I have a lot of very stubborn hair and does an amazing job at giving me something that I love and can easily maintain with my lifestyle. She has a great attention to detail gives great advice in fun ways to do my hair! Dani also did my wedding hair which was beautiful! Not to mention lasted hours in 100+ degree weather! I love the new salon! It is so warm and cozy I want to stay long past having my hair done! I would without question recommend Dani for a wonderful hair experience!

Danny Is Amazing… I drive 3 hours to see her, and she always gets the color right. I usually bring in a photo with me to make sure I am clear with what I am looking for, and she gets it perfect every time. Well worth the trip!!!
