«I love going to the dentist!» — said no one EVER. Well I take that back, I believe Bill Murray’s character Arthur Denton in the 1986 movie version of the awesome musical«Little Shop of Horrors» eluded something to that effect. Which brings me to the exact image that is typically conjured when thinking of going to the Deh-hentiiiiist!!!: Steve Martin hopped up on Nitric Oxide doing his best to make you scream because he «get[s] off on the pain I inflict»… Perhaps I’ve seen too many movies. I’d like to go on record to assure you that Dr. Burke does very much not«have a talent for causing things pain». Actually, he’s fairly calming and instills you with confidence from the very first visit that he did not become a Deh-hentiiist because«people will pay you to be inhumane». I’ve had several cavities filled there as well as 2 crowns. I’m very happy with the results of all of the work he’s done and appreciate that he is both a perfectionist and an incredibly good listener. I’m very particular that my mouth doesn’t appear that I’ve had the work done and he does an immaculate job at it. You can’t ask for much more in a dentist. This is not to say that I now look forward to going to the deh-hentiiist, noooo no no no no. What I am saying is that it’s no longer a source of anxiety, sweaty palms, excuses or extra work that wouldn’t have been needed if I’d have gone on a more regular basis. One of the best ways of telling that I’m not making this up or even fabricating is that I actually know the name and am writing a positive review about my DENTIST. I’ve been to many dentists throughout the years and I couldn’t give you the name of even one of them. Dr. Burke is it. This may have something to do with his lovely Patient Coordinator totally smurfing him in every conversation: «Did you get the reminder from Dr. Burke to see Dr. Burke about Dr. Burke? He was very Dr. Burke about it.» Okay maybe she’s not that smurfy about it but regardless, I remember my dentist now. I generally like the rest of the staff as well; they are all extremely personable and professional. The Coordinator is organized, friendly and works hard to make sure your insurance company doesn’t mess with you(this is speaking from experience). The dental assistant is genuinely nice, knowledgeable and helpful and the dental hygienist is by far the best I’ve ever received a cleaning and consultation from. Everyone in the office just genuinely cares and appears as though they want to be there and for you to have a good experience… at a dentist office… you can’t make this stuff up. After all, «who wants their teeth done by the Marquis de Sade?» Okay I’ll stop. Thus ends a 5-star review I’d never thought I’d write. Maybe this is what the Mayans meant?
